The steps it took for me to have it up and running on 11.4 were: # Install instantclient rpm -Uvh oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.2.0.x86_64.rpm rpm -Uvh oracle-instantclient11.2-devel-11.2.0.2.0.x86_64.rpm # Install OCI8 through pecl pecl install oci8 # add oci8 to modules vi /etc/php5/conf.d/oci8.ini extension=oci8.so # add LD_LIBRARY_PATH to apache vi /etc/sysconfig/apache2 # add to bottom of script export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/lib" # restart Apache /etc/init.d/apache2 restart Celebrating the same procedure on a fresh installation of OpenSUSE 12.1 results in apache throwing the following message at startup: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib64/php5/extensions/oci8.so' - libnnz11.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 I can't get any explanation, why it is working for 11.4 and in 12.1 it stops working.     I have installed dokuwiki on IIS7. As per my teams requirement we have to move just the Data directory to other server location. e.g - IIS7 installed Dokuwiki location: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\dokuwiki\conf - data location on the other server we want: U:\Archive\LP_Archive\SH_Systems\DEV01\dokuwiki So for doing that I followed pointers on dokuwiki install iis7 As per the above link, I tried adding IUSR to data folder permissions but its failing due to my insufficient privileges. And without that IUSR permission set on data folder I am getting an error as "The datadir ('pages') at is not found, isn't accessible or writable". Is there any other way to make it work? Is there any other account than IUSR I can use?

  • Trying to install pdo_oci via PECL fails asking for PDO extension

    I'm using Linux Mint 11 (based on Ubuntu 11.04) and I need to use PHP with Oracle through PDO, a requirement of the framework we will work with. I've installed various PDO extensions using the normal apt-get method, like php5-mysql, etc, and they loaded just fine, along with the initial PDO extension. But there's no package for Oracle bindings. So, when I try to run sudo pecl install pdo_oci it throws me this: WARNING: "pear/PDO_OCI" is deprecated in favor of "channel://http://www.php.net/pdo_oci/ext/pdo_oci" pear/PDO_OCI requires PHP extension "pdo" (version >= 1.0) No valid packages found install failed How can I add this channel, or is there a better way to install the PDO_OCI extension?

  • Advice for good web server development setup.

    A month or so ago I created my first LAMP stack and implemented a simple web site that exercised each letter in that acronym. However my development setup was much less than ideal. I don't really have a local test server, but instead I was writing all of my CGI scripts in vim while ssh'ed into the remote machine as root. Now I intend to start more serious development. Question: What is a good setup so that development goes as easily as possible? I would like to understand what is available to me along the lines of an IDE, subversion (or alternatives), uploading and downloading content, and just best practices. I'm pretty new at all of this. Also, feel free to point me at good websites. There's plenty of websites, but only people who are already heavily developing web content are able to quickly determine if they are good websites.

  • How many pHPShield loaders do I need to install

    An application asks me to install an old pHPshield version but prior to that it asks that I delete all pHPshield loaders in the php extension_dir directory. Am planning to encode some of my own php files with the newer pHPSHIELD version (8+) so I need to also upload newer loaders, but am not sure if it's ok to have multiple pHPSHIELD loaders in the extension dir. Can someone please clarify this confusion? My server runs php 5.2.14 with phpSHIELD Loader Version 5.0.1 and an i386 structure on Centos. The pHPSHILED demo created me a bunch of folders containing the loaders(files that end with .lin extension. I assume the folder Linux_x86-32 is the correct one for my server structure and it contains files like ixed.5.0.1.lin . Can I upload these next to the existing one in the extension_dir directory? Thank you

I've installed PEAR on Debian Lenny using apt-get install php-pear, it was installed in /usr/share/php When I try to install anything using pear install <package> the PEAR folder is created under current user home directory and separate copy of pear is installed there. I ended up by installing local copy of PEAR for one of the users like this: http://kuziel.info/log/archives/2006/04/01/Installation-of-local-PEAR-repository Is any way to tell pear to install packages to system-wide repository in /usr/share/php? What is the recommended way of using system-wide PEAR copy? Thanks in advance!

So each player would be polling the server for the current game status every X milliseconds (let's say 200ms). So that would be 200ms x 12 players x 5 = 60 requests per second Can Apache handle those requests? What might be the bottlenecks when using this attempt?

    So, when I want to link my users to a specific page I always use (in php): "http://" . $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"] . "/page.php", to be sure that the link points to the page they're currently surfing (and not one of the server aliases). But with IDN names, HTTP_HOST is set to "xn--hemmabst-5za.net" (for example) - which of course works but doesn't look very nice. Is there a way to have HTTP_HOST set to the correct IDN name in these cases (in this case - "hemmabäst.net")? I rather do it in Apache before it comes to PHP, because otherwise I'd have to replace all my usage of $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"]. Any ideas?

  • Not able to see databases in symlinked folder

    I created a folder on my Dropbox and then symlinked it to both of my computers that I use for development. The folder is working correctly and I can see all the files in it from both computers. The problem arises when I try and access the databases from my MacBook Air. When I open up MAMP Pro and start the web service I can't connect to my development sites, at least from one of my computers. My questions are: Is this even a good idea to symlink the db folder for MAMP? If it is not then is the a smart way to develop locally on two machines? Can I prompt phpMyAdmin to reindex the db folder so it can start accessing the databases? I have tried shutting down both versions of the server software. I have restarted both machines. I am at a loss right now. -Josh

I am developing commands for getting data from database. e.g. i have one gib table so command for that is getgib name alias limit fields if user pass the name e.g. getgib rahul than it will return all the gib data whose name is like rahul. if alias is given than it will return the all the gib owned by the user whose alias(userid) given . So i want to design the commands. limit : is to limit the record in query, fields : is the extra fields i want to add in the select query . so as now commands are set but now Question 1 : i want the gibs by the gibid , so how to make this or any suggestion to improve my command is welcome. Question 2 : if user don't want to specify the name , and he want only the gibs by providing alias then at this what separator at the place of name i should used.

I tried the to use the standard method for example $con = mysqli_connect("192.168.1.126","root","mysql","asterisk"); However when I log into the asterisk server to access the mysql database all i need it to type "mysql" and im logged in. Im wondering is it possible for my php script to connect to asterisk internal database.   • Apache + mod_php Ignores SUID?

    Does apache or mod_php cause a SUID flag to be ignored when using the shell_exec command from a web accessed PHP script? I'm trying to allow a web accessible PHP script to rename some files which the apache user does not have write access to. I don't want to give it access to write these, as I only want one controlled script to be able to do this. I'm trying to avoid SUDO and the config needed or the headache/insecurity of using a que called from a privileged users cron, and it seemed like I should be able to use SUID to accomplish this.
