hi, How do i handle autopoatback in MVC? suppose i have a textbax. I enter a value in it, i need to check if the value exists in some table in the database. So in ASP .net i can set autopostback =true and handle on TextBox_TextChanged event. How do i do it here?? And what are the pros and cons of using asp.NET server control in MVC?

css: problems with floating a sidebar

What I want to do is bind a textbox's text in the UI with this list and when i change the value in the textbox then all objects in the list update their height value. VSTS test deployment and invalid assembly culture

I have a DLL that I'm testing, which links to a DLL that has what I think is an invalid value for AssemblyCulture. The value is "Neutral" (notice the upper-case "N"), whereas the DLL I'm testing, and every other DLL in my project, has a value of "neutral" (because they specify AssemblyCulture("")). Is there a way to skip deploying the dependencies of a DLL DeploymentItem, to fix or disable the culture check, or to work around this by convoluted means (maybe somehow embed the assembly)? Is there a way to override the value for the culture, short of hacking the DLL (and removing code signing so the hack works)? Maybe with an external manifest? Any correct solution must work without weird changes to production code. We can't deploy a hacked DLL, for example. It also must allow the DLL to be instrumented for code coverage. Additional note: I do get a linker warning when compiling the DLL under test that links to the problem DLL, but this hasn't broken anything but VSTS, and multiple versions have shipped.

PHP: POST Request to ASP.NET website results in 500 server error when html tags included

My situation: I need to send text to an ASP.NET web service using POST. And, to an extent, it has. The form inputs are as follows: <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTTARGET" id="__EVENTTARGET" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTARGUMENT" id="__EVENTARGUMENT" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="/wEPDw..." /> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTVALIDATION" id="__EVENTVALIDATION" value="/wEWYQLrt..." /> And a bunch of other inputs. It performs rawurlencode on each element of the array and joins them up as keypairs, in the same way as http_build_query. The request is url encoded properly, sent to the correct page, and works fine until I insert html tags. I have checked - the 'greater than' and 'less than' symbols ('<' and '') are url-encoded properly. However, the server responds with a 500 error. It accepts any other text. Has anyone else come across this sort of problem? Is there some setting on an ASP.NET server that denies html? I can't see this being the case - there is a rich text editor on the website that I am sending requests to. This text editor performs the same request as I am, only I am doing it remotely. The rich text editor sends html to the form - I have checked that, too, using javascript. Note: I do not have the power to modify the ASP.NET server.

Faster Matrix Multiplication in C#

I have as small c# project that involves matrices. I am processing large amounts of data by splitting it into n-length chunks, treating the chucks as vectors, and multiplying by a Vandermonde** matrix. The problem is, depending on the conditions, the size of the chucks and corresponding Vandermonde** matrix can vary. I have a general solution which is easy to read, but way too slow: public byte[] addBlockRedundancy(byte[] data) { if (data.Length!=numGood) D.error("Expecting data to be just "+numGood+" bytes long"); aMatrix d=aMatrix.newColumnMatrix(this.mod, data); var r=vandermonde.multiplyBy(d); return r.ToByteArray(); }//method This can process about 1/4 megabytes per second on my i5 U470 @ 1.33GHz. I can make this faster by manually inlining the matrix multiplication: int o=0; int d=0; for (d=0; d<data.Length-numGood; d+=numGood) { for (int r=0; r<numGood+numRedundant; r++) { Byte value=0; for (int c=0; c<numGood; c++) { value=mod.Add(value, mod.Multiply(vandermonde.get(r, c), data[d+c])); }//for output[r][o]=value; }//for o++; }//for This can process about 1 meg a second. (Please note the "mod" is performing operations over GF(2^8) modulo my favorite irreducible polynomial.) I know this can get a lot faster: After all, the Vandermonde** matrix is mostly zeros. I should be able to make a routine, or find a routine, that can take my matrix and return a optimized method which will effectively multiply vectors by the given matrix, but faster. Then, when I give this routine a 5x5 Vandermonde matrix (the identity matrix), there is simply no arithmetic to perform, and the original data is just copied. ** Please note: What I use the term "Vandermonde", I actually mean an Identity matrix with some number of rows from the Vandermonde matrix appended (see comments). This matrix is wonderful because of all the zeros, and because if you remove enough rows (of your choosing) to make it square, it is an invertible matrix. And, of course, I would like to use this same routine to convert any one of those inverted matrices into an optimized series of instructions. How can I make this matrix multiplication faster? Thanks! markitup wysiwyg with a standard HTML form

Hi, I'm trying to use the markitup editor on my site and I'm having a problem trying to figure out what I need to do to submit the text area to my server side script. I'm guessing there is something simple that needs to be done but my lack of JS/JQuery knowledge is making it really hard to find a answer The editor works fine, I just want to use my own form and submit button with it, however when I try to submit the form I don't get any of the textarea data in my script. Any idea what I need to do? Any ideas? I guessing its really simple to use my own form but I have no clue how to do it. TIA!

How do you mock the session object collection using Moq

I am using shanselmann's MvcMockHelper class to mock up some HttpContext stuff using Moq but the issue I am having is being able to assign something to my mocked session object in my MVC controller and then being able to read that same value in my unit test for verification purposes. My question is how do you assign a storage collection to the mocked session object to allow code such as session["UserName"] = "foo" to retain the "foo" value and have it be available in the unit test.

How do you access/configure summaries/snippets in Django Haystack

I'm working on getting django-haystack set up on my site, and am trying to have snippets in my search results roughly like so: Title of result one about Wikis ...this special thing about wiki values is that...I always use a wiki when I walk...snippet value three talks about wikis too...and here's another snippet value about wikis. I know there's a template tag for highlighting, but how do you generate the snippets themselves? I know Solr generates these, but I can't figure out how to get them from Haystack.

Is there a way in an XML schema to specify that an element may contain either an empty string or a decimal? If I specify the type as xs:decimal like this: <xs:element name="Sample" type="xs:decimal" /> then a blank value would not pass validation: <Sample/> (I realize that the best way to indicate no value would be to not include the element, but I was wondering if there was a way to allow blank or decimal.)

Added following lines to web.xml file <context-param> <param-name>config-file</param-name> <param-value>/WEB-INF/classes/quartz.properties</param-value> </context-param> But Quartz still loads the default properties file from the quartz.jar

Persist header data across reply emails

Am trying to determine the best way to persist information from an originating email, through to a reply back. Essentially, it is to pass a GUID from the original email (c#), whereby when the receiver replies back, that GUID is also sent back for reference. I have tried setting the MessageID, whereby using Outlook, the In-Reply-To value is set with the original ID, however using some webclient email systems, that value is not created on reply. Is there another way to sent this info through email headers?

I have an ASP.NET chart of which the Y value is calculated based on the highest Y value point. The issue I have is if there are no Y points which exceed 0 then I can't get any labels to display. Here is a good day example: Some Name | 23 Some Name | 45 Some Name | 3 -------------- 0% 25% 50% Here is what I am getting if NO Y values are greater than 0 Some Name | Some Name | Some Name | -------------- What I need is for it to display: Some Name |0 Some Name |0 Some Name |0 -------------- 0% 100% Any ideas?

Retrieving Absolute URL from File on Mounted Volume in Cocoa

Is there any way of retrieving an absolute URL for a file on a mounted volume in Cocoa? For example, say afp://server/Documents is mounted at /Volumes/Documents. How can I get full URL to a file on the mounted volume in the form of afp://server/Documents/path/to/file? I've tried using statfs but the value of f_mntfromname doesn't contain a url, it contains the same value that is given by the mount command.
