  • How do you get Microsoft Access 2007 32bit to show 64bit ODBC Drivers on Windows 7 64bit?

    I followed the advice here: Windows 7 64 bit odbc drivers for Ms Access Missing but it does not apply. I have Oracle drivers that are 64bit. If I click the ODBC mmc in my admin tools I can see the DSN. In my properties of the ODBC administrator, it appears to be pointing to the 64bit version of the ODBC administrator, which is good: %windir%\system32\odbcad32.exe If I use this version of the ODBC administrator, I can see the Oracle drivers and my DSN via the mmc. When I go to Microsoft Access 2007 (32bit), however, and click external data, ODBC, my 32bit ODBC administrator is opening, which does not have the driver. Can Access 2007 32bit use a 64bit driver to connect to a database (oracle in this case)? The driver works fine in all other applications, just not Access. How can I get Access to use the 64bit ODBC administrator? EDIT: For clarification, the problem is that Access is opening the 32bit version, the syswow64 version. I need it to open the native 64bit version, which it is not opening. The problem is that Microsoft Access keeps opening the 32bit version. I need it to open the 64bit version. The MMC of the ODBC administrator is pointing to the 64bit version, but Microsoft Access keeps opening the 32bit version. I need it to open the 64bit version. Thanks for help.

I'm getting really tired of changing fonts every time I write a document. I simply don't like the Calibri font and change it every time... and it's getting annoying. Thanks.

    Given a text file containing and outline with tabs to indent each level, I would like to import this into a Word 2007 document so that the each indentation level is converted to a H1, H2, etc heading level. I tried copy pasting the text into the outline view and opening the text file via File, Open. Both did not give the expected result.   • PowerPoint slide resolution? (Optimizing video playback)

    In PowerPoint 2007, there seems to be no way of changing the resolution slide (only the aspect ratio and the output resolution can be chnaged?). If this is the case, then how do I optimize an inserted video for playback using an HD projector? Can I simply insert a video at high resolution and scale it down to fit the slide? Will these extra pixels come to use if the output resolution is high? Thanks!

CAML it’s a markup language like html that allows developers to do queries against SharePoint lists, it’s syntax is very easy to understand and it allows to add logical conditions like Where, Contains, And, Or, etc, just like a SQL Query. For one of our projects we have the need to do a filter on SharePoint views, the problem here is that the view it’s a list containing a CAML Query with the filters the view may have, so in order to filter the view that’s already been filtered before, we need to append our filters to the existing CAML Query. That’s not a trivial task because the where statement in a CAML Query it’s like this: <Where>   <And>     <Filter1 />     <Filter2 />   </And> </Where> If we want to add a new logical operator, like an OR it’s not just as simple as to append the OR expression like the following example: <Where>   <And>     <Filter1 />     <Filter2 />   </And>   <Or>     <Filter3 />   </Or> </Where> But instead the correct query would be: <Where>   <Or>     <And>       <Filter1 />       <Filter2 />     </And>     <Filter3 />   </Or> </Where> Notice that the <Filter# /> tags are for explanation purpose only. In order to solve this problem we created a simple component, it has a method that receives the current query (could be an empty query also) and appends the expression you want to that query. Example: string currentQuery = @“ <Where>    <And>     <Contains><FieldRef Name='Title' /><Value Type='Text'>A</Value></Contains>     <Contains><FieldRef Name='Title' /><Value Type='Text'>B</Value></Contains>   </And> </Where>”; currentQuery = CAMLQueryBuilder.AppendQuery(     currentQuery,     “<Contains><FieldRef Name='Title' /><Value Type='Text'>C</Value></Contains>”,     CAMLQueryBuilder.Operators.Or); The fist parameter this function receives it’s the actual query, the second it’s the filter you want to add, and the third it’s the logical operator, so basically in this query we want all the items that the title contains: the character A and B or the ones that contains the character C.   • Outlook Anywhere inconsistencies with authentication methods

    So I've read this question and attempted just about every other workaround I've found online. Problem seems completely illogical to me, anyways: SBS 2011, vanilla install; haven't touched anything in IIS or Exchange outside of what's been done through the checklist (brand new domain, completely new customer) except to import an existing wildcard certificate for *.example.com (which is valid, Remote Web Workplace and Outlook Web Access work fine). On the two test machines and one production machine running a mixture of Windows XP Pro, Windows 7 and Outlook 2003 through to 2010, I've had no problem saving the password after configuring Outlook Anywhere using the wrong authentication method. I repeat, I have had no issues using the wrong authentication method on these test machines; password saves the first time, no problem, can verify it exists in the credentials manager (Start Run control userpasswords2), close Outlook, reboot, go make a sammie, come back, credentials are still saved. When I say wrong, it's because I was choosing NTLM and Exchange (under Exchange Console Server Configuration Client Access) was set by default to use Basic. On two completely different machines setup by a co-worker, they had (under my guidance) used NTLM as well... except that frustratingly, Outlook would always ask for a password. One machine was Windows XP with Outlook 2010, the other was Windows 7 with Outlook 2003. When these two machines were set to use Basic -- the correct settings -- the option to save was there and now works without issue. Puzzled by how my machines could possibly work with the wrong authentication, I then went into one of them and changed the authentication method to Basic. Now here's where it gets a little crazy: if I go under Outlook and change the authentication to use the correct setting (Basic) it fails to save the password and Outlook prompts every time (without a "remember me" checkbox). I have not had a chance to change it to Basic on the other two machines to see if this is just a fluke or not, but something just isn't right here. My two hunches are either a missing/installed KB Update or perhaps a local security policy. I should add that none of the 5 test machines in the equation here have ever been joined to the domain.

  • after upgrade to outlook 2013 Contacts have the default picture in reading pane

    I'm using Windows 8 on a domain (using a domain account not a Microsoft account) connecting to Exchange, all my Contacts were outlook contacts with pictures and other data, I could see the picture of the contact in the reading pane and people pane while using Outlook 2010. After the upgrade to Outlook 2013 I can see my outlook contacts but it appears that they are unavailable in the reading pane because all i can see is the default picture (the default picture picture is also visible in the notifications). If I put the mouse over the name of the people while in the reading pane all I can see is the card with the default info (the only data is that the contact is available in the next 8 hours), if i compose a new message and hover the name of the contact i can see the card with all the data (picture, company, etc.). Is this the default behavior in Outlook 2013 if you are in a domain and not connected to any service or there is a way to show the picture of my contacts in every part of outlook?

    CURRENT: single domain, single Exchange 2007 NEW: two domains, single Exchange 2007 Can this be done? Details: Current setup is a single W2k3 domain with a single Exchange 2007 server. We are merging with another company that currently hosts their email with their ISP via POP3. We'd like to start hosting their email on our Exchange server using their existing domain SMTP addresses. They don't have an AD domain at all at the moment. Recommendations? Can I do this with a trust between the 2 domains? Requirements: They can't have multiple SMTP addresses on both domains...such as I've seen with articles pointing to "hosting multiple domains". I want companyA to have the same account settings they've always had...companyB to have the same SMTP address they've had and not an additional one on the current companyA Exchange domain. They should be able to collaborate (calendar, contacts, GALs) but should still be distinguishable based on which company they "work for". Please help...thanks!

  • Outlook 2010 + Move IMAP PST file = Outlook data file cannot be accessed.

    I set up a new IMAP account in Outlook 2010. It works but creates IMAP PST file in C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook. I want the file on my data drive in D:\Users\User\Documents\Outlook Files (the same folder where outlook automatically creates the local Outlook PST. I followed the instructions here to move the IMAP PST. Testing the account (send/receive) works fine, but if I try to manually send an email I get error 0x8004010F Outlook data file cannot be accessed. I've tried repairing the PST using SCANPST (it always finds errors), and deleting and recreating the account but I get the same error. If I move the PST file back, it works again, but this is not ideal. Note: I don't think this is a duplicate of this question as the cause is different and the solution does not help.

  • How to give everyone access to a office@companyname address and let everyone see what messages were

    This should be simple (because I assume everyone has this problem) but googling and searching of serverfault didn't help much. I'd like all messages sent to our "office@companyname" to be visible by everyone and I'd like anyone to be able to respond. I also need everyone to at least SEE that a given message has already been answered (the ability to see the actual response would be nice). I tried using an shared folder for this but it fails miserably because replying to emails leaves no trace, not even for the user that actually sent the message. I'm open to any kind of solution, even commercial add-on solutions.

  • Distortion in format of data in wordpad file when shifted from windows XP to winows 2007

    I have many data files which were set to open in wordpad file in windows XP. Those files have a particular format for data, like following: Name of Data file No. of data columns Name of data in column_1 Name of data in column_2 . . . Name of data in column_n column_1 column_2 column_3 ... column_n Now my computer has been formatted and OS is changed to windows 2007, however when I open my data files in wordpad the above format of data is no more present. The format in wordpad in windows 2007 seems to be distorted. Does anyone knows what to do to restore the format as shown above, which is what the data used to look like in XP? I have attached the snap shot of the new distorted format of data as seen in wordpad in windows 2007. The snap shot shows 100 column names, however the data columns present are only 5 when it should be actually 100 data columns.

    I have been tasked to install Windows XP, IE, and Office 2007 on a computer that will become part of a standalone network not connected to the Internet. What is a good way to install all of the security updates? I'm installing from CD's of Windows XP SP2 and MS Office 2007. Next I plan to download Windows XP SP3 and Office 2007 SP2, burn them to CD's, and install both service packs. Finally I plan to go to the Microsoft Download Center and download all applicable security updates, burn then to CD, and install them. I estimate that there are over 100 of these updates. Is there a more efficient way to do this?

I am trying to automate the search for a folder hot-keys that already exist. My problem is that I can't type the folder that I am looking for fast enough and all the search programs that I have used are far too slow.   • How do I deploy building blocks (quick parts) for Microsoft Outlook 2007?

    I want to deploy some building blocks for Microsoft Outlook 2007. Microsoft has put up a poor solution at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA102086531033.aspx#4 that asks you to save a template. That solution would require you to distribute that template to all the clients. An optimal solution would allow you to put the template containing the building blocks somewhere on the network and simply use the ”Workgroup building blocks path” group policy setting for shared paths in Microsoft Office 2007. Sadly, Outlook doesn’t respect that policy. Also, the described solution mentioned in the article above doesn’t work. Step 4 requests you to save the template as a Word Template after first asking you to save it as an Outlook Template. It seems that they copy&pasted the steps from the Word article and forgot to check whether it worked (and adjust the steps accordingly). Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for how to distribute the building blocks without distributing NormalEmail.dotm (which will overwrite the clients’ own building blocks each time it is updated). Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this  message for you.    Please provide the following diagnostic text to your system administrator. The following organization rejected your message: servername01.fqdn.com.   Problem: The SharePoint server relay rejects the message because it doesn't recognize the name.  You have set it up in Exchange, but you need to set up an alias in the SMTP service on the SharePoint server;   Solution: Configure an Alias Domain An alias domain is an alias of the default domain. You can set up alias domains that use the same settings as the default domain. Messages that are received by the SMTP Service for an alias domain are placed in the Drop folder that is designated for the default domain. To configure an alias domain, follow these steps: Start IIS Manager or open the IIS snap-in. Expand Server_name, where Server_name is the name of the server, and then expand the SMTP virtual server that you want (for example, Default SMTP Virtual Server). Right-click Domains, point to New, and then click Domain. The New SMTP Domain Wizard starts. Click Alias, and then click Next. Type a name for the alias domain in the Name box, and then click Finish. Quit IIS Manager or close the IIS snap-in.
