    Say I have this url: http://site.example/dir/ In this folder I have these files: test.ascx.cs and test.ascx Just to be clear, I am not a .NET developer. From a security point of view - why can't I access http://site.example/dir/test.ascx.cs and how secure is it to keep those files there? I assume IIS filters out request that query these kind of files, but can someone explain me this? Thank you.

I realise that VS2008 will probably struggle with language changes such as the dynamic keyword but can I install the version 4 and target it anyway? However, it seems that adding an RSS feed to Outlook for the URL elmah.axd/rss or elmah.axd/digestrss bypasses the authentication. What's the point of securing the handler if someone can guess the RSS URL and subscribe to a feed of the error log?

It seems to me that within WebForms, you have to specify a route for every page - I am looking for some kind of generic route that can be used where nothing specific is required, perhaps mapping directly from path to path so... http://somedomain.com/folder1/folder2/page would possibly map to folder1/folder2/page.aspx Any suggestions?
