• Why many "normal" string in my flashlog file

  I suddenly find that there are many "normal" trace in my file flashlog.txt (supposed at your Window's location:{SysDrive}:\Documents and Settings{yourName}\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\Logs). normal normal normal normal normal normal 1/10/2011 15:32:13.008 [INFO] org.spicefactory.parsley.core.view.impl.DefaultViewManager Add view root: null/flash.display::Stage normal normal normal But when I run the application with the FlashBuilder, the logging in the consul page is ok, it doesn't include any "normal" String. I am very confused by this, I thought that the output of the flashlog.txt file should be the same as that of the consul of FlashBuilder.And I don't think I have added such a stupid trace in my code. The question is how can I find out where these "normal" trace come from and how to remove it. This problem is resolved by restarting the computer as suggested.

• How to force asp.net GridView control to wrap first row within <thead> </thead> tags

  Hi, I want to use Christian Bach's tableSorter client-side table sorting jQuery plugin with my asp.Net GridView control. But the problem is, in the documentation it writes: tablesorter works on standard HTML tables. You must include THEAD and TBODY tags: And unfortunately asp.net renders my GridView only with tags and header row stays within as the 1st row. I have tried: dgvRate.HeaderRow.TableSection = TableRowSection.TableHeader; after calling .DataBind(); It only helped to have <TH></TH> within the header . But still everything is inside <tbody> Can I accomplish this, I mean moving my 1st row from <tbody></tbody> to <thead></thead> ? I do not want to add it manually on PreRender stage; I am sure this could be handled much simpler, isn't it? thanks

• Process for linking static ObjC libraries in XCode

  I'm trying to link to a static library and I keep getting linker errors. I've found a few sites that post examples but I have not been able to see what I am doing wrong. First I create a project that will link to my lib add existing files find my .xcodeproj file select "Copy items into destination groups folder"... Select my host project as Add To Targets. Then I add a direct dependency to my host app expand targets double click MyHost.app click + under direct dependencies select my lib Then I set build flags double click MyHost application icon in Groups and Files. click the build tab then I set the OtherLinerFlag to -ObjC then I set Header Search Paths to my header file location for my static library. I pass the compile stage but any classes in my static lib cause linker error: literal-pointer@_OBJC@_cls_refs@SomeClass in MyHost.o thanks!

  Hello, I tried to create a custom pipeline component that takes a message and attaches additional another part dynamically (during Disassemble stage). I haven't set up a send port, so that I can see what BizTalk is trying to process. I can see only the body part, the additional part doesn't show up. • UISearchDisplayController automatically creates a UIPopovercontroller to display content search result ?! How to dismiss it ?

  Hi, I'm using a UISearchDisplayController with a UISearchBar. I put this UISearchBar in my app using IB and I get : Fine : when you start taping, the result popovercontroller appears magically (I didn't write anything on my own to make it appear !) Then, when a row is clicked among the result, I want to dismiss the PopoverController BUT at this stage, I never instantiated the UIPopoverController on my side : it looks like if there's an encapsulated behavior in the UISearchDisplayController that automatically wraps its searchContentsController inside a UIPopoverController. That's really great because everything works perfectly without doing anything except that I cannot get the reference to this UIPopoverController to dismiss it :( Does anyone know how to get the reference to this "magically" created UIPopoverController ? (this is the proof the iPad is really a "magical" device ;) I thought there would be a reference to the UIPopoverController from its contentController (through its parent property for instance), but I cannot find any way to get a pointer to it :/

• Generating Source Info For Flex BitmapData.

  Instead of populating the BitmapData class from an IMAGE. I would like to (within Actionscript) GENERATE some new BitmapData by capturing the Bitmap representing say, a TextArea component on the stage. In other words, sort of take a "screen capture" or "screenshot" of one of the components, and convert that into an image. Am I silly to even wonder if such a thing is feasible? Can an Air/Flex app "look at itself" in this way? Can it turn a datagrid or a canvas or a textinput into the corresponding image AS IF via screen capture? Even a hint in the right direction would be appreciated, Thanks In Advance.

• Quick methodology to show client a working demo

  I am not starting an argumentative discussion here and this post is not about career development, but from the commercial point of view: If a company was using ASP.Net MVC as a main methodology to build their web sites and application. However, ASP.Net MVC takes more time to show a functional application than ASP.Net Web Forms, for example, building domain models would take some time which obviously can't be represented on a UI at that current stage. My question is, if a client wants to see a functional demo application (just a proof of concept) so he knows that the company he is dealing with is professional and capable of doing that. Would it be better to do that demo in ASP.Net Web Forms only to show the client, and then work on the real application using ASP.Net MVC? If not, what are the (quick) alternatives?, I mean, if we tell the client to wait till we have a working demo (by ASP.Net MVC) we may lose the client and the whole project opportunity.

• RPM build process without installing

  I'm trying to build my own rpm package and have a couple of doubts. First of all, in several places I've red that one shouldn't build rpms as root. Why is that? During the building process, rpmbuild has to go through the install stage where it installs files to the system. As far as I understand I can't do that if I'm not root. rpmbuild process finishes with error. So, the question is if it is really possible to build an rpm without installing stuff into the system? Or eventually I do have to become root to complete the build process?

Is there a tool anywhere which can take a script which is spread over many files and show you all the code which is processed (for a given set of arguments passed to the script) in a single output? For example, I want to make a call to zen cart from a script in a different language, which returns a category listing without any surrounding page. So I want to be able to trace what the actual process is to generate that then strip off all the unwanted bits to create a custom script.

• Porting a GUI from a pc to a wince device - issue is with the size of the screen

  I have to port a GUI that is currently running on a pc, to a wince device. I have already compiled the code on a win CE platform, the problem is now with the size of the screen of the device which is smaller than some of the dialog boxes of the GUI. I could resize some them in resource view of visual studio 2005. I am unable to proceed further as a lot of screens have bitmaps mapped to them and i cannot just resize the dialog boxes without changing the corresponding bitmaps. What is the best way to proceed- my last resort would be to disable the bitmaps and redraw them at a later stage. is there some method of automatically mapping the size of the screen to all the dialog boxes so that they would automatically resize (alongwith the assocaiated buttons etc)

Pass an engine to the Table via autoload_with=<someengine>, or associate the MetaData with an engine via metadata.bind=<someengine> The problem here is that I don't know where to get the engine from (to use it in autoload_with) at the stage of importing the model (it's available in init_model()). I tried adding meta.Base.metadata.bind(engine) to environment.py but it doesn't work. Anyone has found some elegant solution?

• Problems crossing the boundary between protected greasemonkey execution space and the unsafeWindow l

  Hi guys. Here is my problem: I've registered some callbacks into a Yahoo event driven webpage (betfair.com market views) and am trapping the betsPlaced events with a handler. So far so simple. Next stage is to get the event back into greasemonkey land, and while I know that from greasemoney space you can call unsafeWindow.stuff, there is no reverse operation (by design). So if I want to send the contents of the event over, say, a cometd queue, my carefully set up jquery, greasemonkey, YUI2, betfair environment fails by telling me that unsafeWindow processes cant call GM_ajax stuff. This is obviously safe and sane, but it basically stops me doing what I want to do. Has anyone tried doing this (ignore the cometd stuff, just general ajax calls) and succeeded? I've had a look at pages like this: http://wiki.greasespot.net/0.7.20080121.0%2B_compatibility but it doesnt appear to work for all the calls.

• Geocoding service for a startup?

  I'm working on an idea for a service that uses geocoded data (lat/lng) form a US address. Google maps API v3 has been awesome, until I read the terms of service and acceptable uses a little closer. The problem is that the terms seem to prohibit use of the maps API for any commercial use where the site is not freely accessibly to the public, such as a subscription based service. The alternative offered is Google Maps API Premier, but at $10,000 per year minimum, it's just not possible at this time. Same goes for services offered by Yahoo! and MS - initial fees are small for enterprises, but for a very early stage startup (not even a finished prototype yet!) it's just not doable. Geocoding process needs to be real-time and volume would be very small - user would enter address at setup time and only update it if needed. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  Hi, I have read the doc and some tutorials to get a .kml file working launching the google maps activity. When I hosted the file in a server, this works perfectly: Intent myIntent = new Intent( android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("geo:0,0?q=http://somedomain.com/file.kml") ); Now, reading this link on how to use intents for gmaps with the developing stage of GEO uri I can't manage how to load a kml file from within the device, I have tried with "q=file:///path-to-file.kml" and with an absolute path too. Has anyone done this yet? PS: in IRC channel recommend me to use apps based on openstreetmaps, but the docs is much more poor than the gmaps doc althought they are OS.

• How are Flash library symbols constructed? Why are width/height already available in constructor?

  Suppose I draw a square on the stage, convert it to a symbol, export it for ActionScript with a classname of "MySquare" (and of course a base class of MovieClip). How is it that in the MySquare constructor, the width and height of this MovieClip are already available? In fact, any named instances in the clip are also available. I'm confused about how the Flash player seems to be able to pre-construct my movie clip by populating its properties and child clips before my constructor for the class ever runs. I thought that it would have to first construct the clip, calling my constructor code, and then construct and add any children, but obviously the player is doing something special for clips designed in the Flash authoring environment.

  Is there a pattern, Xml structure, architecture technique we can use to create simple data holder class code that we can deserialise to/from and do that at runtime? We're in the early design stage of a .Net project and one of our goals is to make the resulting system extensible through configuration without needing a developer. We need to support new sources of data, typcially delivered as Xml messages. Currently we convert/deserialise the messages into simple classes and then use an already existing language which can manipulate those classes as we need. That works well when you have a developer to map the Xml to simple class, create the class and then write the deserialisation, but it's not extensible for for an administrator. Our target user audience is high end DBA and/or network admin - people who can handle Xml but may not know C#.

  How should I properly implement data access in my custom model binders? Like in controllers I use IContentRepository and then have it create an instance of its implementing class in constructor. So I have everything ready for incorporating IoC (DI) at a later stage. Now I need something similar in model binder. I need to make some DB lookups in the binder. I'm thinking of doing it the same way I do it in controllers but I am open to suggestion.   Hello, I have a file that can contain from 3 to 4 columns of numerical values which are separated by comma. Empty fields are defined with the exception when they are at the end of the row: 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,,5 1,2,3 The following table was created in MySQL: +-------+--------+------+-----+---------+-------+ | Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra | +-------+--------+------+-----+---------+-------+ | one | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | two | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | three | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | four | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | | five | int(1) | YES | | NULL | | +-------+--------+------+-----+---------+-------+ I am trying to load the data using MySQL LOAD command: load data infile '/tmp/testdata.txt' into table moo fields terminated by "," lines terminated by "\n"; The resulting table: +------+------+-------+------+------+ | one | two | three | four | five | +------+------+-------+------+------+ | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 0 | 0 | | 1 | 2 | 3 | NULL | NULL | +------+------+-------+------+------+ The problem lies with the fact that when a field is empty in the raw data and is not defined, MySQL for some reason does not use the columns default value (which is NULL) and uses zero. NULL is used correctly when the field is missing alltogether. Unfortunately, I have to be able to distinguish between NULL and 0 at this stage so any help would be appreciated. Thanks S.

  hi there I need to have some images into my database, and the thing is that i need that images to have certain file names, dimensions and text on it. I know how to generate some images using the opencv lib, but this means that i need to install the lib and do just that job(which sounds as reinventing the wheel). Do you think is worth to do that or maybe you have a better idea? ps: the images are for testing stage of a software application, so i don;t need anything fancy or artistic.

• #define vs enum in an embedded environment (How do they compile?)

  This question has been done to death, and I would agree that enums are the way to go. However, I am curious as to how enums compile in the final code- #defines are just string replacements, but do enums add anything to the compiled binary? Or are they both equivalent at that stage. When writing firmware and memory is very limited, is there any advantage, no matter how small, to using #defines? Thanks!   Lately im trying to do some experimental things with JSFL, and i was wondering if it is possible to listener for an event when a component (that i have made) or movieclip is dragged from library on the stage. i want to create something that i'll get a component and drop it on a mc. when the component is dropped on the mc the component will save the mc as a reference in some var. maybe with events isnt the way to go but i have no clue if this is possible or how to do it another way. i hope someone can help me get started thx in advance

• WIX - Verify that file exists - and/or file-browser dialog/button

  How do you create a "Browse" button in a WIX dialog. I currently have a custom dialog box with four radio buttons (Dev, QA, Stage, and Prod), and a text field for a filename. The install of course dies if the user enters a bad filename. I would be happy first of all just to verify that the file they entered exists. Secondly, I would like to add a File-Browser button, if such things exists in WIX. But even then, I would imagine the user could type in any file name, and I should still check to see if it exists.   I have just installed a network simulator program called ns-2 and I am trying to familiarize myself with it by going through the tutorial by Marc Greis. When I get to the stage where I'm messing around with C++ source files and related program C++ source files as stated in http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/tutorial/index.html, I don't know what to do as there are enough inconsistencies between the version of ns-2 that I downloaded (which is the latest stable build) and the guide. What would your recommendations in this case, as I don't know what to do with it as a newbie? Thanks in advance for your help!
