  • How do I upload a file when I know the client's filepath?

    I'm interested in the way Sonic Living detects your iTunes library XML file. It prompts the user to approve its actions, then automatically uploads the XML file based on the client OS (and assuming the default installation path of iTunes). How the heck does it do that? None of the upload libraries I've looked at have this feature. They all assume that a user will click "Select file..." then browse around for the right thing to upload.

  • Getting the System tick count with basic C++?

    I essentially want to reconstruct the getTickCount() windows function so I can use it in basic C++ without any non standard libraries or even the STL. (So it complies with the libraries supplied with the Android NDK) I have looked at clock() localtime time But I'm still unsure whether it is possible to replicate the getTickCount windows function with the time library. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to do this or even if its possible?

  • When exactly would a DLL use a different heap than the executable?

    I know that if your DLL static links against a different version of the runtime then it creates its own heap. It will also if it is instructed to make a heap. Under these circumstances, it is unsafe for the DLL to delete what the exe allocated. In what cases does this NOT apply (as in, it is safe for the DLL to delete what the exe allocated)? Is it safe if both the exe and the DLL static link against the same runtime library? Thanks

  • Convert Java.Util.HashMap to System.Collections.IDictionary

    In Xamarin I've got a .jar I've imported using a Java Binding Library. One of the callbacks has a Java.Lang.Object parameter which gives me Java.Util.HashMap and Java.Util.ArrayList at runtime. I'm abstracting this SDK behind a cross-platform interface, so I need to convert this to a .NET type. It there anything like the ArrayAdapter except in reverse that can convert the Java types to their .NET equivalents?

  • How do I correlate build configurations in dependant vcproj files with different names?

    I have a solution file that requires a third party library (open source). The containing solution uses the typical configuration names of "Debug" and "release". The 3rd party one has debug and release configs for both DLL and static libs - their names are not "Debug" and "Release". How do I tell the solution to build the dependency first and how do I correlate which config to the dependant config? i.e. MyProject:Debug should build either 3rdParty:debug_shared or 3rdParty:debug_static

    Hi All, How can we set permissions for users to only allow them to download SSIS packages from the production server and but deny them permissions to run any package in the Server. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141053(SQL.90).aspx If i assign users to any of the DB roles db_dtsadmin, db_dtsltduser, and db_dtsoperator they will automatically have permission to run the package.     so, let's say i have the long/lat or address of many buildings can get satellite images, "street view", and perhaps 3d/perspective views of buildings. want to find: height, number of floors, floor area (max building footprint) of the building. about 200k buildings.     I come from a Java background and have been using C# for the last year - So far the API docs I use are at MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms132397.aspx). I tend to use the lightweight C# docs. What annoys me about that is that I don't see one page with details of the class, a list of members, a list of methods and properties like I would with a Java API definition. Is this possible?

It's hard to put together a natural-sounding sentence to describe an item without using "a" or "an" - "a house is BIG", "an exclamation point is SMALL", etc. Is there any function, library, or hack i can use in PHP to determine whether it is more appropriate to describe any given noun with A or AN?

  • Serialize() not using .XmlSerializers.dll produced with Sgen

    I have a sgen step in my .NET 3.5 library, producing a correct XYZ.XmlSerializers.dll in the output directory. Still having poor serialization performance, I discovered that .NET was still invoking a csc at runtime. Using process monitor, I saw that .NET was searching for a dll named "XYZ.XmlSerializers.-1378521009.dll". Why is there a '-1378521009' in the filename ? How to tell .NET to use the 'normal' DLL produced by sgen ?
