  • In gzip libary, what's the difference between 'uncompress' and 'gzopen' ?

    There are some functions to decompress in zlib library(zlib version 1.2.3) I want to decompress my source zip(.gz) file using 'uncompress' function. It is now working(error code -3) but gzopen is. It is still not working when I input payload pointer(passing gzip header) to 'uncompress' . So the question is "What's the valid arguments for uncompress function?" and If it needs different format, how can I make it? Google doesn't helpful this time :(

    Hi, I'd like to use HTML5 Canvas, but I'd like to use it in terms of shapes, texts and curves, able to attach traditional DOM events like onClick or drag-and-drop functions.   • Replace a control on the screen

    Hello all, I have an instance of a FlowCoverView (a great library that emulates cover flow on the iPhone). And it works great, with the exception of an update. When I update my table behind the scenes, I have no way of telling this control (that is defined in IB) that it has been updated, and to reload. (much like you can with a table using reloadData) To the question, is there a way to replace a control that is on the screen with another control to force the reload?

    What is the advantage of using a ConcurrentBag(Of MyType) against just using a List(Of MyType)? The MSDN page on the CB (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd381779(v=VS.100).aspx) states that ConcurrentBag(Of T) is a thread-safe bag implementation, optimized for scenarios where the same thread will be both producing and consuming data stored in the bag So what is the advantage? I can understand the advantage of the other collection types in the Concurrency namespace, but this one puzzled me. Thanks.

    I am using Xinha editor with Jquery 1.4.2 and cannot use the UI components in IE 8. Other browsers work great! include the following scripts: jstree also throws a 'data not included' exception (which stumps me since it works without including the xinha library) Is there a way to find the conflict with Xinha and either work-around or resolve it for IE 8 using 1.4.2 jquery thanks please let me know if you need more info.

    I have a BlockingQueue that's being used in a producer-consumer situation. I would like to decorate this queue so that every object that's taken from it is logged. I know what the straightforward implementation would look like: simply implement BlockingQueue and accept a BlockingQueue in the constructor to which all of the methods would delegate. Is there another way that I'm missing? A library perhaps? Something with a callback interface?

    I have this code: #include <stdio.h> #include <wchar.h> int main() { wchar_t *foo = L"ðh"; wprintf(L"[%ls]\n", foo); return 0; } And when I compile it, it gives me the implicit declaration of function ‘wprintf’ warning. I know that I should link the wchar library during compilation, but how do I do that?

I tried the "Add existing framework" method - but cannot find the file in folder "Frameworks". Am I looking in the wrong place? Wrong filename? Wrong space/time continuum? I also did a search for the file - to no avail. Not in /System/Library/Frameworks/ Do I have to download it?

    Hi I have been trying to localize my iPhone app in two languages - english and german I have created two folders en.lproj and de.lproj each containing Localizable.strings file for respective language. I have included these files in my resources folder, changed the encoding of these files to UTF-16. I have tried cleaning the project and building it again, deleting folder at path: Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User But the problem is still there. Anybody having an idea please help.

    I'd like to embed code from my SVN repository into my website, using PHP. The SVN has public anonymous access, so the PHP code should be fine reading it. The code on said SVN is java, and so far I've had no luck finding a syntax-highlighter to make the code more readable. Ideally I'd like one that uses CSS classes so that I can change the colors to match the look of the website. Could someone point me to a PHP library that highlights Java code?

I wonder if there is any special CPU (x86/x64) instruction for string operation that is used by string library, that somehow used to optimize the parsing routine. for example instruction like finding a token in a string that could be run by hardware instead of looping each byte until a token is found.

  • Creating a multiplatform webapp with HTML5 and Google maps

    I'm struggling how to develop a webapp for Android and iOS. My first app was a simple todo app which was easy to test in my browser and it only used html, javascript and css. However, I have to create an app which uses Google Maps Api to get the location. I created a simple html5 page to test which places a marker on a map. It works fine when testing it on my local server. But when I create an .apk file for Android, the app doesn't work. So I'm wondering, isn't it possible to use it like this? Do I have the use the phonegap libraries to use their geolocation library? And if so, how do you handle the development of a webapp in phonegap for multiple OS? Do you have to install an Android environment and an iOS environment to each include the right phonegap library and to test them properly? Update: I use the following code on my webserver and it works perfectly. But I did a little research and it's seems to me HTTPS and C++ don't play nice and easy together. Is there any recommended class library for HTTPS web access? Should be easy to use and not too expensive.
