• How do I create multiple submit buttons for the same form in Rails?

  I need to have multiple submit buttons. I have a form which creates an instance of Contact_Call. One button creates it as normal. The other button creates it but needs to have a different :attribute value from the default, and it also needs to set the attribute on a different, but related model used in the controller. How do I do that? I can't change the route, so is there a way to send a different variable that gets picked up by [:params]? And if I do then, what do I do in the controller, set up a case statement?

• Bind a WPF combobox and get selecteditem to a richtextbox

  Hi, I am using a dataset on the server, in this dataset I have a datatable that calls a stored procedure and returns column names from three tables. I call this stored procedure using a web service. I manage to show all the column names in my combobox but when I want to click a button and insert selected column name into a richtextbox I get System.Data.DataRowView in the textbox instead. • How do I get one monitor on top of the other?

  I'm using a laptop and a monitor (wall mounted) over my laptop. I would like to reflect this physical hardware setup in my software screen setup. So that I can move my mouse upward, out of my laptop screen and use the monitor on the wall. I have been searching for a solution for a while, and I hope somone can help me out. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 "out of the box". Side by side screen setups works just fine, over/under is doesn't work.

• Twitter Customer Sentiment Analysis

  The breakable toy that I am currently working on is a twitter customer sentiment analyser. It scrapes twitter for tweets relating to a particular organisation, applies a machine learning algorithm to determine if the content of tweet is positive or negative, and generates reports of the sentiment data over time, correlated to dates, events and news feeds. I’m having lots of fun building this, but I would also like to learn if there is a market for quantified sentiment data. So that I can start to show people what I have in mind I have created a mockup of the simplest and most important report. It shows customer sentiment over time, with important events highlighted. As the user moves their mouse to the right (forward in time) the source data area scrolls up to display the tweets from that time. The tweets are colour coded based on sentiment rating. After I started working on this project I discovered that a team of students have already built something similar. It is a lot of fun to enter your employers name and see what it says.

• How can I install Ubuntu (SO many problems)

  I have a question, my friend tried installing Ubuntu on my notebook (Asus g75v) and nothing tried, at one point he went past the installation screen and every he used the mouse the screen flickered and the driver crashed (I assume) and it would go back a step, I heard that there is way to install ubuntu without any graphics, maybe that will help me with the screen flickering (I have a gtx 670m), so we tried WUBI installer, I tried installing with that and it gave me a Wubildr.mbr missing error, so I gave that up after several times, although I do notice that I have an intel driver, and I keep downloading AMD versions, does that effect anything? I'm having trouble installing Ubuntu and I wish to be able to run it on my laptop, I want to learn this OS and I cannot even install it, I am a bit concerned, if anyone can back at me with any answer at all, please don't hesitate to post, just please don't post if you don't know what's going on, thanks for listening! ~cheers -Dragos

I have a table, which is paged, and I have 2 controls above the table: Dropdown that defines order of the results and apply button next to it Textbox that defines a filter and apply button next to it What I need to achieve is that if the user changes the order or adds a filter I fire of an AJAX call to my action like such: /Membership/Users?sort=value&filter=value&page=pagenumber. So my controller action is: // GET Membership/Users?sort=&filter=&page= public ActionResult Users(string sort, string filter, string page) So I have 3 questions: Is this the correct approach? What would be the best way to ensure that the query string is maintained, bearing in mind that the action will nearly always be called by Jquery/Ajax functions? • Problems about responsiveness and keyboard/mousepad not working

  So I installed Ubuntu 12.04, I'm very new at this and want to get into the world of Linux but have run into nothing but problems. I have an Acer Aspire 5553g. First off, my keyboard won't work. Second, my computer has more than enough of everything to run Ubuntu smoothly, but everything runs extremely slow. (You move the mouse and it gets there a few seconds later) It's to the point where I can't even use it and I really want to. I'm tired of Microsoft stuff and I've been looking at learning how to use Linux based operating systems for a while. Please send me some help to fix these issues and maybe some tips to help get me started. Thanks in advance chris

• Why is the binding icon not visible in blend?

  Hello, Why is the binding icon (a small gray icon) not visible in blend for some properties even though they are DependencyProperties? For eg. I dragged a button on my page and dragged a textbox. I want to bind button's content property to textbox's text property. But i can't find the Binding icon in Blend. I know if i type the binding syntax in code it will work just fine.   So, in facebook, I cannot call myFrame.window to get the iframe parent window. How can I do it? What I'm trying archieve is: I have a popup (div) that will load a iframe. And then in the iframe will have a button. Once people click the button inside the iframe, I want to close the popup(div). Normally, I need to get the parent window. Then I can destroy the popup div. But in facebook, how can I do it? any alternative way to do that? I don't want to refresh the page. :)

  I did find an answer to this title and I did do a little research but I'm still not getting the flow. Here is what I want to happen: 1) click a button on the presenter view to open a modal view. 2) retrieve some value and click a button to close the modal view....sending the value to the presentor view and execute a method. I get that this works like a callback but I still can't figure out where to put the callback stuff. So, how exactly do I do this? A) In the presentViewController completion block, should I include the presenter view method to execute when modal view is completed? Or: B) In the modal view's dismissViewControllerAnimated completion block, should I include the presenter view method to execute when modal view is completed? Can somebody help me with some sample code? Or at least help me get the flow of which block to put the code in? Thank you, P

• jquery tabs changing on change?

  Hello, I have two tabs each with different styles and different text. One recent posts and one recent comments the css for each are below with the ones I need to have when they are selected. So pretty much when a user selects the recent comments it will change the entire block to the second one (2). Pretty much changing width, and swapping the css for both tabs. I am currently using idtabs http://www.sunsean.com/idTabs/ My question: How can I have it change the tab css and width for both when the right tab is selected and then back again when the left tab is selected. • jquery show hidden div

  Firstly, I'm sort of embarrassed asking about this, so many people have already asked this question but even after having gone through so many posts, I'm unable to achieve what I want. Basically, a div, initially hidden, has to be displayed on a button click. I tried hiding the div using display:none and hide() and then displaying it using show(), toggle(), and css("display","block"). Using all sorts of combinations of the above, I was still unable to get the result.   I've got a winforms application that is set up in the following manner: 2 buttons, a textbox, a collection K, function X and another function, Y. Function X parses a large database and enumerates some of its data in the global collection. Button 1 calls function X. Function Y walks through the above collection and prints out the data in the textbox. Button 2 calls function Y. I'd like to call function X through a worker thread in such a way that: The form remains responsive to user input. This comes intrinsically from the use of a separate thread. There is never more than a single instance of function X running at any point in time. K can be accessed by both functions at all times. What would be the most efficient implementation of the above environment ?

  I have created some code to popup a confirm dialog if a user tries to leave a page without saving their changes. However, I don't want the confirmation dialog to popup if the user has clicked the "Save" button.   an Hi, I have an UITextField in one view, UITextField A in View A. And I have another in view B, UITextField B in View B. I use a Navigation Controller Bar to switch between the views. The UITextFields are properties and connected Outlets of both views A and B. On my view A there is an "Options"-button which pushes view B. So when you are typing in Textfield A, I would like the same text to appear in Textfield B. When you edit TextField B and you go back to view A (via the "Title View A"-button in de navigation bar), I would like the same text to re-appear in Textfield A. I expected this to be easy. But I can't get it working. I tried: ViewBController *controller = [[ViewBController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ViewBController" bundle:nil]; controller.TextFieldA.text = TextFieldB.text But nothing appeared in view B. And how do I get back? I dont want to use NSUserdefaults because I would have to remove the values also.

  Dear experts, I would like to implement a API of Javascript that sort of resemble a light switch. For instance, there are two buttons on the actual HTML page act as the UI. Both of the buttons have event handlers that invokes a different function. • Animations not accepted in animator

  In the official Unity Animator State Machine tutorial video animation clips are dragged out from the assets folder into the animator and dropped. I have a 3D model that i bought online to experiment with that comes with animations. I added a custom made animation as well. These all work well in my demo project. But when i add a animator to the assets and try to drag and drop animations onto it it doesnt work. I get a forbidden-sign as a mouse pointer. I try to add animations through the inspector but that does not work either. The tutorials makes it seem so easy and does not talk anything about what animations can be used. What am i doing wrong?

• Need a remote desktop to a headless server without logging in first

  I've been using Linux for many years now but only to run servers. Over the last few days I've been struggling with a technical / configuration issue which I hope someone can help with. I've installed / un-installed many packages but just can't figure out what the "right" way of doing this is. The requirement seems simple Server runs Ubuntu 10.04 with xubuntu and SSH (I do NOT want to connect any screen, keyboard or mouse to the server) I have Windows 7 machine with putty on it and logging in to the server using SSH is fine I want to run an xterminal session on my Windows machine. Amongst the things I've tried is VNU but I can't get it to work because I believe you have to login on the server first. Thanks in advance
