HTMLtags in input field

I have a question about inserting values into an input field from my MYSQL DB. First I have a form to save data from an inputfield to the database. An extra script filters diacrits Á=Á to html code. So Állo will be saved like Állo When I insert the data from the DB to a 'div' it shows Állo. When I insert the data into a input field it shows Állo What am I doing wrong I use JQUERY to save data to the DB with the $.post method without pagerefresh. I also get the data from the DB with JQUERY $.post method without pagerefresh. Hope somebody can help.

looping thru a list of checkboxes and saving the values, not working properly

Hello all, I'm having a bit of a problem with this code. The program gives me a list of checkboxes but a user ID. then u user can change his selection and push the save button (id="btnSaveUserIntersts") and i am trying to save in the hidden textbox all the values of the checkboxes that was choosen. The problem is that i am getting all the time the same selections that came form the database and not getting the new selection that the user made. Can I modify an ASP.NET AJAX History Point?

I'm using ASP.NET 3.5 with AJAX and have enabled history on the Script Manager. I have 2 pages, Default.aspx and Default2.aspx. I'm using the AJAX History on the Default.aspx page and saving history points on the server-side. There are some dropdowns on Default.aspx that I don't want to save a history point for each change but would like to save the latest state so that when I click on a link on Default.aspx that navigates to Default2.aspx, when I click the back button on Default2.aspx to return I want the dropdowns to reflect what they were prior to clicking on the hyperlink. So what I'd like to do is modify the history point that I originally set on one of my ajax async postbacks on the client-side before the page navigates away to Default2.aspx. There is a location.hash javascript property that looks like it may do what I want but when I modify the value the Script Manager Navigate event is firing. Is there a way to prevent this event from firing? And would this then do the job?

New records added to DataGridView aren't displayed

I have a custom Order class, groups of which are stored in List<Order> and a DataGridView. I think the problem is in my implementation so here's how I'm using it: In the form enclosing DataGridView (as OrdersDataGrid): public partial class MainForm : Form { public static List<Order> Orders; public MainForm() { // code to populate Orders with values, otherwise sets Orders to new List<Order>(); OrdersDataGrid.DataSource = Orders; } Then in another form that adds an Order: // Save event public void Save(object sender, EventArgs e) { Order order = BuildOrder(); // method that constructs an order object from form data MainForm.Orders.Add(order); } From what I can tell from the console this is added successfully. I thought the DataGrid would be updated automatically after this since Orders has changed - is there something I'm missing? The DataGrid accepts the class since it generates columns from the members.

I'm creating a python script of which parses a large (but simple) CSV. It'll take some time to process. I would like the ability to interrupt the parsing of the CSV so I can continue at a later stage. Currently I have this - of which lives in a larger class: (unfinished) Edit: I have some changed code. Java: Is it possible to take a GUI Panel and output it into a picture?

So I have this chart that's a little special. Kind of like an XY plot of points but my boss wanted to look like a bunch of boxes rather than dots connected by lines. And I basically made a chart using gridlayout and a whole bunch of cells that I'll be colouring in black or white depending on the data. Now he sorta wants it to be outputted to a image file. Is there any way to save a Panel into a picture? He wants to display not only the data but also save a visual representation of the data into an image file.

How should nested components interact with model in a GUI application?

Broad design/architecture question. If you have nested components in a GUI, what's the most common way for those components to interact with data? For example, let's say a component receives a click on one of its buttons to save data. Should the save request be delegated up that component's ancestors, with the uppermost ancestor ultimately passing the request to a controller? Or are models/datastores in a GUI application typically singletons, so that a component at any level of a hierarchy can directly get/set data? Or is a controller injected as a dependency down the hierarchy of components, so that any given component is only one intermediary away from the datastore/model?

Multi-model form problem

(I'm just learning rails so....) I have a photo model and a gallery model, habtm associations and a join table. I'm making a photo gallery. The gallery page has a title field and description field. User creates gallery title, then goes to the photo page and checkboxes each image they want in that gallery. $_POST Variable Detected in Chrome but not in Firefox

I am using 2 images in a form to sort out query results from the database. The form is submitted using the POST method. When i click on the first image, the query results have to be sorted in ascending order, and when i click on the second, the results have to be sorted in the descending order. This is the code for the form: <form name="" action="" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="typep" value="price" /> <input type="image" name="sort" value="asc" src="images/asc-ar.png" /> <input type="image" name="sort" value="desc" src="images/dsc-ar.png" /> </form> Now this is the code for checking if the $_REQUEST['sort'] variable is set and therefore whether sorting is required or not. if ($_REQUEST['sort'] != "") { $sort = $_REQUEST['sort']; $typep = $_REQUEST['typep']; //query to be executed depending on values of $sort and $typep } Firefox does detect the $_REQUEST['typep'] variable but not the $_REQUEST['sort'] one. This works perfectly in Chrome though. When i test the site in Firefox, it doesn't detect the $_REQUEST['sort'] variable and therefore the if condition evaluates to false and the search results don't get sorted.

PHP - How do you secure a unique variable name?

This function cropit, which I shamelessly stole off the internet, crops a 90x60 area from an existing image. In this code, when I use the function for more than one item (image) the one will display on top of the other (they come to occupy the same output space). I think this is because the function has the same (static) name ($dest) for the destination of the image when it's created (imagecopy). I tried, as you can see to include a second argument to the cropit function which would serve as the "name" of the $dest variable, but it didn't work. In the interest of full disclosure I have 22 hours of PHP experience (incidentally the same number of hours since the last I slept) and I am not that smart to begin with. Fit into div in CSS

Hello everyone my menu bar can't fit into my <div> area at different browser. I have checked with Opera and Chrome it looks fine but with Explorer and Firefox my menu can't fit. I got this thing i'm trying to solve: I got a ListView created using Wicket ( 1.5 ) with a lot of elements and a scroll. When new items are available, the user is asked if he would like to refresh the list via a message backed by an AjaxLink: public void onClick(AjaxRequestTarget ajaxTarget) { /* do something ... */ ajaxTarget.addComponent(_list); } So on click the list gets reloaded and the scroll position is reset to zero. Is there any way i can call JavaScript before the list reloads the save the scroll position? (I know how to get/save the scroll position ( .scrollTop() ) , i just don't know how to call a function right before AJAX ).

Comparing large strings in JavaScript with a hash

I have a form with a textarea that can contain large amounts of content (say, articles for a blog) edited using one of a number of third party rich text editors. I'm trying to implement something like an autosave feature, which should submit the content through ajax if it's changed. However, I have to work around the fact that some of the editors I have as options don't support an "isdirty" flag, or an "onchange" event which I can use to see if the content has changed since the last save. So, as a workaround, what I'd like to do is keep a copy of the content in a variable (let's call it lastSaveContent), as of the last save, and compare it with the current text when the "autosave" function fires (on a timer) to see if it's different. However, I'm worried about how much memory that could take up with very large documents. Would it be more efficient to store some sort of hash in the lastSaveContent variable, instead of the entire string, and then compare the hash values? If so, can you recommend a good javascript library/jquery plugin that implements an appropriate hash for this requirement?

I have ExtJS based application. I have compound object on the server side, and have ExtJS window with few tabs for editing different parts of this one object. For example: I Have Compound object "Car" public class Car { public string Name; public string Color; public List Wheels; public List Doors; } And on my ExtJS window i have tabs ("General Info", "Wheels", "Doors") for editing different parts of this object. So what i want: When i want to create a new car i want to generate JSON configuration for my class "Car" like {Name:null; Color:null; Wheels:[]; Doors:[]} then sent it to the client, fill it on the client (without callbacks to server) and after user finishes creating his Car object (he added wheels, doors, set name and color) and press save, I want to sent this filled(generated) JSON object to server and save it to DB. Creating transparent PNG with exact RGBA values

I'm color-coding a transparent image to be read programatically. However, the image seems to be getting compressed and my code is reading color values other than the ones I mean to pass it. Concept This is the output I get, exporting as PNG-24. I programatically check each pixel for one of the six colors I use in creating the image: 0x00000F 0x0000F0 0x000F00 0x00F000 0x0F0000 0xF00000 Each color represents a different texture to apply. Top right (0x00000F) will pull texture from the tile to its top right and blend it at a ratio equal to the opacity of the pixel. The end goal is to create a hex tiled grid with differing textures that blend smoothly. What's happening It seems that when converting to PNG, Photoshop will change the RGBA to make it smoother, or just to help compression size. Parts that should be 250 red range anywhere from 150 to 255. Question Whether using PNG or another web-compatible format, I need to be able to save these pixel values, essentially instructions, loss-less and still maintain transparency. Is this possible in any format or will I need to re-think my approach?

Can I get a patch-compatible output from git-diff?

I am doing something very simple wrong. I'm trying to prepare an ordinary patch file, so I can reapply some changes: $ git diff > before $ git diff something_here > save.patch $ git checkout . $ patch < save.patch $ git diff > after $ diff before after $ With something_here blank it almost works, but the file names aren't right. I think I'm just I'm missing some option. In real life, I am going to do a merge after the checkout, so the patch might fail there, but you see what I'm getting at.
