• Reset All Internet Explorer 8 Settings to Fix Stability Problems

  If you like to tweak and customize IE with Add-ons and changing settings, sometimes you may have problems with stability. To save time, you can reset all of the IE settings rather than trying to troubleshoot individual areas. Reset IE Settings To reset Internet Explorer Settings, click on Tools then Internet Options. When you reset the settings, you won’t lose personal settings like your homepage, search provider, passwords…etc. The Internet Options screen opens…click on the Advanced tab, then under Reset Internet Explorer settings click on the Reset button. You’ll need to verify that you want to reset all Internet Explorer Settings. If you choose to, you can delete all of your personal settings as well, but it shouldn’t be necessary to fix stability issues. The settings will start to reset, and when it’s finished close out of the message box. For the process to complete you’ll need to restart Internet Explorer. When it restarts you’ll be presented with the Welcome screen where you can go through the setup wizard again. After it’s complete, you should be back in business and can start using IE again. With the new enhancements and features available in Internet Explorer 8, sometimes too much tweaking can cause it to stop working. One area you could start with is troubleshooting IE 8 Add-ons. However, if you don’t want to waste time troubleshooting each potential issue, sometimes it’s just easier to reset things back to how they were originally. • Word 2010 not printing body text on pages with images

  I've got a document exhibiting bizarre behavior -- when I print, the body text style is only displayed on pages without images. Headings, header and footer, and captions are printing on the page, along with any graphics such as border styles applied to the style, but the text itself doesn't print -- except for en dashes. The text is pretty basic -- a justified Calibri style. Images are their own style, a centered paragraph item. There's no floating image boxes or text boxes going on, everything's a paragraph style. It's not a print driver issue. I get identical behavior on both a HP and Brother laser printer. It's also not a paragraph-level style issue; I've inserted enough dummy text to move a printing paragraph on a page with no images to the next page, which has an image, and the paragraph does not print on the next page. Has anyone run into an issue like this and knows the solution?

• Software for mosaicing video frames into a panorama

  I have some video footage I've shot using a dolly with the camera rotated 90 degrees to the right. Which gives me a sideways tracking shot of a background. Does there exist some kind of software I can create a single image from the video footage? The result I want is one single image of the entire shot. I guess I could export every Nth frame and use Photoshop (or any other type of panorama software) to merge the images together, but this would make it easier. Thanks.

• How to get rid of resume information on ubuntu 9.10 ("karmic")

  I am on an old laptop with Ubuntu 9.10 installed. I once tried to not shutdown but go into one of the resume states. On the next power on, resume did not work, but there was an error message during boot asking me for the resume image (which I do not have or know of) and when I press enter the normal boot happens. But this error pops up on every boot now. How can I get back the behaviour from before? Why does the boot process guess there would be a resume image and can I delete this information? I would like to post here the error messages from the boot proces, but they are not in /var/log/syslog, where else can they be?

• Change default language settings in Visual Studio 2012

  The first thing you need to do after the installation of Visual Studio 2012 is to choose the IDE preferences. Once you select your preferred collection of settings, the IDE will always choose dialogs and other options according to your selection. Nowadays developer’s needs to work with different programming environments and due to this, developers might need to reset the default settings. In this article, I am going to demonstrate how you can change the default settings in Visual Studio 2012. For the purpose of this demonstration, I have installed Visual Studio 2012 and selected C++ as my default environment settings. So now when I go to file -> new project, it will give me C++ templates by default as follows. If you want to select another language, you need to expand Other Languages section and select C# or VB. Now I am going to change these default settings. I am going to change the default language preference to C#. In Visual Studio 2012, go to tools menu and select Import and Export Settings. Here you have 3 options; one is to export the current settings so that the settings are saved for future use. Also you can import previously saved settings. The last option available is to reset it to default. It is a good Idea to export your settings and import it as you need in later stages. To reset the settings to default select the Reset option and click next. Now Visual Studio will ask you to whether you would like to save the settings, which can be used in future to restore. Select any one option and click next. For the purpose of this demo, I have selected not to save the settings. Click Next button to continue. Now Visual Studio will bring you the similar dialog that appears just after installation to select your IDE settings. Select the required settings from the available list and click Finish button. Click Finish once you are done. If everything OK, you will see the success message as below. Now go to file -> new Project, you will see the selected language appear by default. I selected C# in the previous step and the new project dialog appears as follows. Changing IDE settings in Visual Studio 2012 is very easy and straight forward.

• Refurbished System Windows License Key and OEM Media

  According to this question, it is legal to use a Windows 7 OEM license that is presently installed as a 32-bit install with a 64-bit version of Windows 7. With that in mind, I purchased several refurbished systems through TigerDirect. When I received the computers today, I found that they have a Windows 7 license key attached to them that says it is a "refurbished key." A flyer in the box also seemed to imply that this key would not work with regular OEM media. Has anyone tried using regular OEM media with a refurbished key? I had hoped to create a new 64-bit WIM image that I could use on these systems, but I don't want to try replacing the default install with this new 64-bit install only to find that the key won't validate. If it requires a special customized image, is it possible to convert another type of Windows 7 disc into the required sort much as one can convert a retail disc to an OEM one (and vise versa)?

• Profiles and using the local profile for a domain user

  I’m having some trouble with profiles and would like to reach out for some help. I’ve tried to do some research to help myself along, but I’m not making much progress on my own. I’ve pretty much taken over the sys admin duties for my small lab, I don’t have much experience to justify it besides I’m the only with the time and dedication to go at it (The environment was in a state of disrepair). My network and domain I look over are extremely small by most standards, about 10 users at a time. They are pretty intensive activity on the network, and we do work with fairly large files. None of the network is online, which is nice at the moment because it allows me not to have another headache. On to my profile problem, I have set up roaming profiles for the users in the network. Now after a little research, I think I will be switching this to a hybrid of folder redirection and roaming profiles as this seems to best practice. I also don’t want the users having to wait for a long time if they have a bloated profile. Now I’ve finally got a build working using MDT. We have Mac Pros, and it wasn’t fun getting everything to play nice. The way I did this was by setting up a reference computer and installing all the software and tools that each user would need and editing the settings preferences to how we would need them. I think used MDT to do a sys prep and capture to create the image of my reference computer. Using the reference image I can push out my images to the rest of the desktops in my environment. The issue I’m having is when we join the computer to domain. The user can login and operate fine on the computer, but I’d like a more. When the user is logged on with their domain user name they lose a lot of the icons I had on my reference image, as well as the desktop background and some other miscellaneous settings. I would love to have the user log on using their domain user name and see the icons and desktop environment as I had it setup on the reference computer. I’m not sure if it is possible, or something simple that I’m missing, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Converting 2D coordinates from multiple viewpoints into 3D coordinates

  Here's the situation. I've got a set of 2D coordinates that specify a point on an image. These 2D coordinates relate to an event that happened in a 3D space (video game). I have 5 images with the same event point on it, so I have 5 sets of 2D coordinates for a single 3D coordinate. I've tried everything I can think to translate these 2D coordinates into 3D coordinates, but the math just escapes me. I have a good estimate of the coordinates from which each image was taken, they're not perfect but they're close. I tried simplifying this and opening up Cinema 4D, a 3D modeling application. I placed 5 cameras at the coordinates where the pictures were taken and lined up the pictures with the event points for each one and tried to find a link, but nothing was forthcoming. I know it's a math question, but like I said, I just can't get it. I took physics in high school 6 years ago, but we didn't deal with a whole lot of this sort of thing. Any help will be very much appreciated, I've been thinking on it for quite a while and I just can't come up with anything.

• Windows XP boot: black screen with cursor after BIOS screen

  Here is a weird one, Got computer with Windows XP. It's getting stuck on a black screen with cursor blinking. What did I do: - Boot from installation CD (recovery option - command line): chkdsk C: /R copy D:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\ copy D:\i386\ntldr c:\ fixmbr fixboot Chkdsk showed 0 bad sectors and no problems during scan. dir on C:\ shows all directories and files in place (Windows, Program Files, Documents and Settings). BIOS shows correct boot drive. Still does not boot. Not sure what to think of. Please help. UPDATE: Just performed these steps: Backed up current disk C: (without MBR) using True Image to external hard drive Ran Windows XP clean installation with deleting all partitions and creating new one. Hard drive booted fine into Windows GUI installation!!! Then: Interrupted installation. Booted from True Image recovery CD and restored archive of disk C to an new partition. Same issue with black screen.

  I know that I can create a simple little Qt based application that adds and read png metadata, using the QImage.setText(...) and QImage.text(...). That metadata can then be read with a linux command called pngmeta. But what other image software can I use to read out the png metadata? Please note that I'm seeking image programs for the common platforms, so please specify if your application is for Windows or Linux.   Company branding can create a sense of spirit, belonging, familiarity, and fun. CRM On Demand has long offered company branding options, but now, with Release 17, those options have become quicker, easier, and more flexible. Themes (also known as Skins) allow you to customize the appearance of the CRM On Demand application for your entire company, or for individual roles. Users may also select the theme that works best for them. You can create a new theme in 5 minutes or less, but if you're anything like me, you may enjoy tinkering with it for a while longer. Before you begin tinkering, I recommend spending a few moments coming up with a design plan. If you have specific colors or logos you want for your theme, gather those first...that will move the process along much faster. If you want to match the color of an existing Web site or application, you can use tools, like Pixie, to match the HEX/HTML color values. Logos must be in a JPEG, JPG, PNG, or GIF file format. Header logos must be approximately 70 pixels high by 1680 pixels wide. Footer logos must be no more than 200 pixels wide. And, of course, you must have permission to use the images that you upload for your theme. Creating the theme itself is the simple part. Here are a few simple steps. Note: You must have the Manage Themes privilege to create custom themes. Click the Admin global link. Navigate to Application Customization Themes. Click New. Note: You may also choose to copy and edit and existing theme. Enter information for the following fields: Theme Name - Enter a name for your new theme. Show Default Help Link - Online help holds valuable information for all users, so I recommend selecting this check box. Show Default Training and Support Link - The Training and Support Center holds valuable information for all users, so I recommend selecting this check box. Description - Enter a description for your new theme. Click Save. Once you click Save, the Theme Detail page opens. From there, you can design your theme. • How to start a task before networking?

  I've written an upstart task that modifies /etc/network/interfaces. (Actually a file sourced into it.) Which start on condition do I need to declare to let my task run before any networking jobs? I've tried start on starting networking, but that's apparently too late. When I log in after booting I can see that the changes were written, but obviously they are not used: the new config states a static IP, but the boot process waits for a non-existing DHCP server (old config) to time out. I've also tried start on starting network-interface INTERFACE=eth0, which didn't work either. IIRC there was an error in the log that the change couldn't be written. Background: I need a VM template that can be cloned and the clones configured through a script. Among other settings, I need to give them a static IP address to access them from the host. I use guestfish to write a config file to one of the virtual disks and let a script apply these settings to the system. I don't want that disk to contain an actual system settings file. I can't modify /etc directly, because that disk is shared (copy-on-write/diff) among the clones and guestfish apparently doesn't support that type of image. I could also let them use DHCP and setup a server that assigns IP by MAC, but I'm afraid of the complexity. I could also add just another virtual disk for configuration files, but if possible I'd prefer to store settings directly on the system disk image. Used software: Ubuntu Server 12.04, VirtualBox. The configuration modifier is a self written ruby script.

  One of the benefits of ADF is that fact that it can use multiple data sources. With SOA playing a big part in today’s IT landscape, applications need to be able to utilise this SOA framework to leverage functionality from multiple systems to provide a composite application. ADF provides functionality to expose web services via the ADF Business Component so if you know how to use Business Components for a database. Configuring ADF for web services is much the same. In this example I use an OSB web service that gets a customer. Create a new Fusion Web Application (ADF) Application and click OK    Provide an Application Name, GetCustomerADF and click Next    From the Project Technologies move Web Services into the Selected box. Accept the defaults and click Finish. Right-click the Model project and select New In the Gallery select Web Services –> Web Service Data Control then click OK. Provide a name GetCustomerDC and give the URL endpoint for the Web Service, then click Next Select the web service operation you want to use for the ADF application. In my example my web service only has one operation. Click Finish Save your work, File –> Save The data control has now been created, the next steps create the UI components. In your application created in step 1 find the ViewController project, right-click and choose New In the Gallery select JSF –> JSF Page Provide a name for the jsp page, GetCustomer, Also ensure that the ‘Create as XML Document (*.jsp) check box is checked. I have selected the page template, Oracle Three Column Layout but you can create a layout of your choice. I only want 2 columns so I delete the last column but right-clicking the right had panel and selecting Delete Drag the fields you require from the web service data control to the left pannel. In my example I only require the Customer ID. When you drag to the panel select Texts –>ADF Input Text w/Label In this example I want to search on a customer based on the ID. So Once I select the ID I want to execute the request. To do this I need a button. Drag the operation object under the fields created in step 15. Select Methods –> ADF Button. You now need to provide the mappings, Choose the ‘Show EI Expression Builder’ Navigate to the bindings, ADFBindings –> bindings –> parametersIterator –> currentRow Click OK Drag and drop the return information I just want the results shown in a form. I want to show all fields Now it is time to test, Right-click the jspx page created in steps 11 – 21 and select Run A browser should start, enter valid values and test

Blender has x right y up -z into the scene for the view coordinates (OpenGL) I have x right y up -z into the scene for the view coordinates (OpenGl) Bleneder has x/y plane and z up as world coordinates I have x/y plane and z up as world coordinates I load the mesh with assimp directly from the blend file with absolutely no post processing. The object is rotated abount p/2 on the x-axis. Why?
