• Drawbacks of WebFormsMVP?

  While ASP.NET MVC seems to be a viable technology praised by a lot of developers, I can't seem to find enough reasons to devote my energy and time for it. The main reason is that I don't find enough .NET jobs asking for it. Companies still use WebForms and it works just fine for them. I am not self employed where I get to choose the technology I like. I would rather use my time improve my skills in SilverLight, JQuery, Javascript, SQL, LINQ.. etc. Even Photoshop! So I got interested in webformsmvp.com. I get to still use WebForms and use better testing methods. Anyone who has experience with it can tell me what they didn't like about it?

  §3.10 section 9 says "non-class rvalues always have cv-unqualified types". That made me wonder... int foo() { return 5; } const int bar() { return 5; } void pass_int(int&& i) { std::cout << "rvalue\n"; } void pass_int(const int&& i) { std::cout << "const rvalue\n"; } int main() { pass_int(foo()); // prints "rvalue" pass_int(bar()); // prints "const rvalue" } According to the standard, there is no such thing as a const rvalue for non-class types, yet bar() prefers to bind to const int&&. Is this a compiler bug? EDIT: Apparently, this is also a const rvalue :)

• Infopath - changing sql servers

  I have an InfoPath form which has sort of a master-detail pattern, with two tables in the underlying main datasource. I am trying to migrate this to a new SQL Server - same database, just moved from a SQL2005 machine to a SQL2008 machine. If I change the servername, it also wants me to change the database and tables. If I select the same database and master table, the bindings are maintains for the master table. But there doesn't appear to be a way to select multiple tables when you change the datasource, so you lose the detail bindings. Am I missing something - I'm pretty new to InfoPath.

  EDIT (the whole question, it was too unclear) I want to use OpenSSL.NET The OpenSSL.NET install instructions page: INSTALL Make sure you have libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll in the current working directory of your application or in your PATH. DONE In your .NET project, add a reference to the ManagedOpenSsl.dll assembly. DONE I have put libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll in both my bin/Debug and bin/Release directories. • How to change a UIBarButtonItem in a UINavigationBar

  I'm trying to set up a list of items that can be edited. I have a main view, with a UINavigationBar at the top and a UITableView directly under it. I'd like to have my "edit" button change to a "done" button on click, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I could do it in the code (not it interface builder), I could just replace it, but I can't even do that. I've seen some code using [self.navigationItem], but in my case self is a UIView. It also feels a bit odd to be using a UINavigationBar when I don't want navigation (this is one page only), but I want a toolbar with a title and and a button, so I don't think really have a choice.

  I am developing a small application with images and trash box icon on right hand bottom. I have multiple images floating in the main window, and using mouse I can move image from one corner to other corner of window, left, right, top and bottom. I can't figure out how do I catch an event when a image touches and panel (with trash box image), in the right hand corner. Does anybody knows which event or handler to listen? This is not a drag and drop case since my images are floating so no point using drag and drop. Thank you

  hi, i am very new in android development as well as in java. i had developed an application that gets an image url from a site and wanted to download it into the device and later on i would like to enable users to set it as wallpapers. however, i am met a problem when assigning onclick event to a button. Once i uncomment the line in red, it will pop up a box stating that the application was stopped unexpectedly. • What is the sequence followed by the Linux kernel to configure a device?

  As I understood after reading the chapter related to The Linux Device Model in the Linux Device Drivers 3rd Edition, when a new device is configured, the kernel follows more or less this sequence: The Device is registered in the driver core (device_register(), what includes device initialization) A kobject is registered in the device model It provokes a hotplug event Bus and drivers are checked to see which one matches with the device Probe Device is binded to the driver My main doubt is, in step 1, when is device_register() called and what info should be yet in the device struct? Is it called by the bus to which the device is connected? Any example in the code? Have I misunderstood something? :)

  Hi i have added a segmented control to a detailview header in a subview of a uitableview table and used images for up and down to create a up and down control like the one in mail.app. the buttons are working fine. im after some advice on how to get rid of that items view and reload the next item without having to go back to the main uitableview. im sure i saw some code on this website doing exactly that but i cant find it! can anyone point me in right direction or help? thanks

• Hover text at mouse created from firefox toolbar add-on

  Hi all, I'm creating a firefox add-on, and I have a situation where if someone clicks on a specific item in my toolbarbutton menupopup, I want to display some text to appear beside the mouse for a couple seconds. I don't mean mouseover text, because when they click on the item, the I close the menupopup. I mean something like what's shown at this site: http://www.kingsquare.nl/cursormessage The normal way of doing this would be with javascript and a div that would have the text I want to show. Unfortunately, I've discovered that the toolbarbutton can't have an effect on the main window, which is where I'd need to place the div to show. I've tried getting JQuery to work and haven't been successful either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

• How to set WCF threads to schedual differently

  Hi, I'm running a winservice that has 2 main objectives. Execute/Handle exposed webmethods. Run Inner processes that consume allot of CPU. The problem is that when I execute many inner processes |(as tasks) that are queued to the threadpool or taskpool, the execution of the webmethods takes much more time as WCF also queues its executions to the same threadpool. This even happens when setting the inner processes task priority to lowest and setting the webmethods thread priority to heights. I hoped that Framework 4.0 would improve this, and they have, but still it takes quite allot of time for the system to handle the WCF queued tasks if the CPU is handling other inner tasks. Is it possible to change the Threadpool that WCF uses to a different one? Is it possible to manually change the task queue (global task queue, local task queue). Is it possible to manually handle 2 task queues that behave differently ? Any help in the subject would be appropriated. Gilad.

• Maven jaxb2:xjc/jaxws:wsimport to be added in eclipse?

  I have a library I am creating based on some WSDL/XSD definitions. I am having a problem having the compiled classes added in the eclipse project. I can see that with a 'mvn compile' that the .class files are generated, as well as the .java files. The problem is that even though the .class files are generated, eclipse is still showing an error on the import statement "import com.whatever.SomeService_Service" that was generated by one of the plugins. I tried forcing the source to go into the project/src/main/java directory, but when the project is cleaned, it deletes files that I have created. Has anyone run into this before/found a way to get it to recognize that the class files are there? Thanks.

• Best practice in this situation?

  My Delphi program relies heavily on Outlook automation. Outlook versions prior to 2007-SP2 tend to get stuck in memory due to badly written addins and badly written Outlook code. If Outlook is stuck, calling CreateOleObject('Outlook.Application') or GetActiveObject ... doesn't return and keeps my application hanging till Outlook.exe is closed in the task manager. I've thought of a solution, but I'm unsure whether it's good practice or not. I'd start Outlook with CreateOleObject in a separate thread, wait 10 seconds in my main thread and if Outlook hangs (CreateOleObject doesn't return), offer the user to kill the Outlook.exe process from my program. But since I don't want to force the user to kill the Outlook.exe proccess, as an alternative I also need a way to kill the new thread in my program which keeps hanging now. My questions are: a, Is this good practice b, How can I terminate a hanging thread in Delphi without leaking memory? Is there a way?

• Multiple MCs, Single Listener, AsBroadcaster

  I'm currently working trying to have multiple MCs inside a container MC which when they mini MCs are clicked will broadcast a message so that I can act upon them. This would be simple in AS 3 as it would be mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, obj); however, this is AS 2 and so I am semi-forced to use the broadcastMessage('myMessage'); and mc.addListener(obj); event handler. The main problem is that the broadcaster isn't broadcasting any messages. The second problem is that there are 5 MCs and when I click one of them, I get 5 trace messages about the click. I can't seem to keep the MC clicks unique even though they are all given separate instance names vie the properties panel. Any help would be appreciated.   Hi there, I created a calendar list, and I added the calendar web part in another web part page. I noticed that i can not change the view without going to edit mode, then go to modify shared web part. But in the home page of the calendar. There is a same calendar web part with a drop down menu to change views. Also, there is a small calendar connected to the main calendar web part in the left navigation area. I don't know how to add it to my web part page. How can i make it look the same on my web part page? Thanks, Jason

What I am struggling to figure out at moment is the best way to handle a “failback” situation once a failover has occurred. The problem is with Caching - If I use the current web context cache object than I might end up with duplicate caching (as the web context will be different for every application). I'm currently thinking about implementing a simple caching mechanism with a singleton pattern that will allow the different web sites (aka different application domains) to share their "caching wisdom".
