• AppDomain.CurrentDomain.DomainUnload not be raised in Console app

  I have an assembly that when accessed spins up a single thread to process items placed on a queue. In that assembly I attach a handler to the DomainUnload event: AppDomain.CurrentDomain.DomainUnload += new EventHandler(CurrentDomain_DomainUnload); That handler joins the thread to the main thread so that all items on the queue can complete processing before the application terminates. The problem that I am experiencing is that the DomainUnload event is not getting fired when the console application terminates. Any ideas why this would be? Using .NET 3.5 and C#

• Is it possible to add a New Project Wizard with a VSPackage?

  I have a VSPackage for Visual Studio 2008 that I created for adding some editor and custom language functionality. I also have a need to add a new project/solution wizard to create a new Solution and a complex series of C++ projects to the solution. I know I can do this using a "Custom Wizard", but I would be much happier if I can implement this within my VSPackage using C# instead. So I guess the main question is, is it possible to add an entry to the Project Types dialogs in Visual Studio from a VSPackage? Or is the "Custom Wizard" and JScript my only option here? And if it's possible, where can I find information and/or samples on how to accomplish this?

• In OpenGL vertex shader, gl_Position doesn't get homogenized..

  Hi everyone, I was expecting gl_Position to automatically get homogenized (divided by w), but it seems not working.. Why do the followings make different results? 1) void main() { vec4 p; ... omitted ... gl_Position = projectionMatrix * p; } 2) ... same as above ... p = projectionMatrix * p; gl_Position = p / p.w; I think the two are supposed to generate the same results, but it seems it's not the case. 1 doesn't work while 2 is working as expected.. Could it possibly be a precision problem? Am I missing something? This is driving me almost crazy.. helps needed. Many thanks in advance!

• How to made my background image strech if I dynamicaly insert DIV in the middle of the page

  Hi, I have a background image which I apply to the body. The image is only in the bottom and stretch to the entire width of the page. The image is 1 X 320 px. body { background-image: url("../images/bg-main.gif"); background-position: 0% 100%; background-repeat:repeat-x; } The rest of my web site is in 1024 X 768 resolution. It works perfectly until I dynamically insert a new DIV in the middle of the page using javascript. It cause the browser scroll bar to appear and when I scroll down to the bottom, I can see the image stopping right at it's original position. How can I make my image get down again without reloading the page ??? I'm using the EXTJS framework to avoid reloading the page... Thanks Alain

• Lombok with Play 2

  What about Lombok integration with Play Framework 2? I really like Lombok it make my code more readable and less boilerplate. And Play Framework is wonderful too. But there is a great trouble in case if you going to mixup them. Main reason is that scala temlates in play project compiled before domain classes. So Lombok, which itself is compiler's hack do not generate accessors for that time. The question is: if it any ways to make it work? I found some discussions in Google Groups, but they do not provide any reasonable solution. So have you got any success with it? And.. why guys from Play Framework project do not provide some Lombok-like solution? Anyway Play is full of code-generation magic and shadow compiling... so, why not?

  I'm about to design my Web service API, most of the functions of my API is basically very simular to my web application. Now the question is, should I create 1 single method and reuse them for both the web application and the web service api? (This seems to be the logical solution, however its very complicated; it's much easier to duplicate the method used by the web application, and keep both separate, ie one method for the web application and one method for the web service.) • having issue while making the client calls persession in c# wcf

  1.) I have a main method Processing, which takes string as an arguments and that string contains some x number of tasks. 2.) I have another method Status, which keeps track of first method by using two variables TotalTests and CurrentTest. which will be modified every time with in a loop in first method(Processing). 3.) When more than one client makes a call parallely to my web service to call the Processing method by passing a string, which has different tasks will take more time to process. so in the mean while clients will be using a second thread to call the Status method in the webservice to get the status of the first method. 4.) when point number 3 is being done all the clients are supposed to get the variables(TotalTests,CurrentTest) parallely with out being mixed up with other client requests. 5.) The code that i have provided below is getting mixed up variables results for all the clients when i make them as static. If i remove static for the variables then clients are just getting all 0's for these 2 variables and i am unable to fix it. Please take a look at the below code. • How to fix weird scrolling/alignment behavior when using keyboard in MenuStrip?

  I started noticing strange behavior when navigating the main toolbar of my Winforms application, and I don't know how to fix it. When I initially open the dropdown of the File menu, it looks like this: I begin to scroll down each item with the arrow keys, and everything is fine until I reach "Exit". As soon as I hit the down arrow key from "Log Off", or if I hit the up arrow key from "Open", the menu rearranges itself to look like this: I'm puzzled by this behavior. The menu still works, and from this point, if I start scrolling up, I can get the arrangement back to normal: A few observations: The menu still works. This doesn't happen when using the mouse. I have some code that toggles the Visible property of some of the menu items. I was able to modify what the arrangement was by playing around with this, but it was still messed up. Can anyone help me understand what is going on, and how to fix it?

  Hi I want to perform a shrink animation on a UITableVIew. I experimented a bit and found out that the animation runs much faster when I shrink a UIImageView with an image of the current state of the tableview instead of shrinking the table view itself. I grabbed the image in a method in my main viewcontroller prior to the animation: UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(mainTableView.bounds.size); [resizeContainer.layer renderInContext:UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()]; UIImage *viewImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); Works like a charm, at least almost. I assume this is the case even if you wrap the try catch block in a try catch block. How can I accomplish the same thing? • How do you build a Request-Response service using Asyncore in Python?

  I have a 3rd-party protocol module (SNMP) that is built on top of asyncore. The asyncore interface is used to process response messages. What is the proper technique to design a client that generate the request-side of the protocol, while the asyncore main loop is running. I can think of two options right now: Use the loop,timeout parameters of asyncore.loop() to allow my client program time to send the appropriate request. Create a client asyncore dispatcher that will be executed in the same asyncore processing loop as the receiver. What is the best option? I'm working on the 2nd solution, cause the protocol API does not give me direct access to the asyncore parameters. Please correct me if I've misunderstood the proper technique for utilizing asyncore.

• Preserve images in Excel headers using Apache POI

  I am trying to generate Excel reports using Apache POI 3.6 (latest). Since POI has limited support for header and footer generation (text only), I decided to start from a blank excel file with the header already prepared and fill the Excel cells using POI (cf. question 714172). Unfortunately, when opening the workbook with POI and writing it immediately to disk (without any cell manpulation), the header seems to be lost.   Hi All, I am using .getDeclaredClasses() method to retrieve all the classes that have been defined in object. However, I am not able to retrieve anonymous classes defined in the class. Here is the code sample that I am testing: public class TempCodes { public static void main(String[] args) { Ball b = new Ball() { public void hit() { System.out.println("You hit it!"); } }; b.hit(); } interface Ball { void hit(); } } and this is what my code does: memClass = className.getDeclaredClasses(); if (memClass .length > 0) { for (int index = 0 ; index < memClass .length ; index++) { System.out.println("\t\t\t" + memClass [index]); } } Can anyone help me understand how to retrieve the anonymous class?   I can "fix" the below exception with a try-catch loop but I cannot understand the reason. Why does the part "in.readLine()" continuosly ignite IOExceptions? What is really the purpose of throwing such exceptions, the goal probably not just more side effects? • Perl: catch error without die

  I'm playing around with error handling and got a little problem. I connect with a database using the DBI module. I do my own error handling by using a subroutine that I call upon an error. I can catch my own dies and handle them just fine but when my database connection fails, the DBI module apparently prints out it's own die : DBI connect(...) failed: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach) at ... How would I go about catching this ? I tried using $SIG{DIE} like so : local $SIG{__DIE__} = sub { my $e = shift; print "Error: " .$e; }; This is on the bottom of my main file, in this file I also call the connect subroutine that is available in a module of my own. I also tried putting this piece of code on the bottom of my module but it still prints the error without the "Error:" in front of it.

  What is the best ORM db combination for simple data structures. That is data that contains names as identifiers and locations, but whose main interaction will be numerical data for times(sports durations), and currency related data. I initially want to create a sports data base that will take names and statistics. Secondarily I plan to start into an investment and stock analysis db. Which ORM suits storing many numerical types and have strong query functions? I really am not biased to db engine (most likely use sqlite or mongo) so any suggestions to best network less db server to suit said ORM appreciated.

The three servers are extremely similar in setup and configuration. The JSP page is being served up by OpenCMS, and I'm using the Caucho's Resin webserver. I understand that you don't know how my servers or CMS are set up, but really, what I'm looking for is ideas. Any ideas at all would help -- this problem has been driving me absolutely batty. • PHP and Django: Nginx, FastCGI and Green Unicorn?

  I'm curious... I'm looking to have a really efficient setup for my slice for a client. I'm not an expert with servers and so am looking for good solid resources to help me set this up... It's been recommended to me that using FastCGI for PHP, Green Unicorn (gunicorn) for Django and Nginx for media is a good combination to have PHP and Django running on the same slice/server. This is needed due to have a main Django website and admin, but also to have a PHP forum on there too. Could anyone push me to some useful resources that would help me set this up on my slice? Or at least, any views or comments on this particular setup?

• Drupal Background Image as Block or Node

  Hi There. I am having trouble wrapping my head around how to make editable background images in my custom Drupal 6 theme. My client wants to have a different background image for each main section (which use multiple content types: page, blog, image gallery)... I am wondering, is there a way to make a custom content type into a dynamic background image block? I am using the Image, Image Cache, Views, CCK, Image Assist, Panels, Filefield, and Imagefield modules. What I'd like to do is add a background image field to various content types that allows a user to reference an image from the content library or upload a new image (similar to ImageAssist), and have it apply to a region in my template. Any suggestions on the best approach for this? Thank you!

• Load properties file in JAR?

  I'm having trouble when one of the jars that my web app depends on tries to load a properties file from within the jar. Here is the code in the jar. static { Properties props = new Properties(); try { props.load(ClassLoader.getSystemResourceAsStream("someProps.properties")); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } someProperty = props.getProperty("someKey"); } The properties file is in my "src/main/resources" directory of the Maven project. When I run this code from my junit test in Eclipse, it executes just fine. When the project is built with Maven into a jar, and included as a dependency in my webb app, it fails to locate the properties file. I know that the properties file is at the base directory of the depended on jar, I don't know how to fix this. Please help!
