I'm trying to establish a tricky bidirectional OneToOne mapping in hibernate. Facebook Registration Plugin redirects in wrong situation

I am using the PHP Facebook SDK to leverage the Facebook registration/login plugin. Unfortunately, even when I access this page from a brand-new browser (Firefox, just installed, which means no cookies or sessions exist) and I am still redirected. Note the PHP code below[2]. Also, the SITE_HOST is a constant for the www. address. I think the actual condition that is being met is response.status being equal to "unknown". This status check implies an unsuccessful response from Facebook, right? Without this getLoginStatus check in the code, it will actually load the the registration page, and a Facebook registration form: Note how it says: "You have registered", which I did a month ago (assuming this qualification is met by allowing the Facebook App permissions, which was done when I initially installed the Facebook SDK). So why would the redirect code work for me (seemingly), then still redirect me when I am using a browser NOT signed in to Facebook? Also, the jQuery function at the bottom of the script loads all.js. This is all I need, right? Footnotes: Someone with "connected" status is logged in to Facebook and has approved your Facebook App permissions. No matter which page this was on it caused this, and since this code appears in a global include file, I've restricting from printing to only on the registration page, which was the intention for this code to my understanding.

JPA2 adding referential contraint to table complicates criteria query with lazy fetch, need advice

Following is a lot of writing for what I feel is a pretty simple issue. Root of issue is my ignorance, not looking so much for code but advice. Table: Ininvhst (Inventory-schema inventory history) column ihtran (inventory history transfer code) using an old entity mapping I have: @Basic(optional = false) @Column(name = "IHTRAN") private String ihtran; ihtran is really a foreign key to table Intrnmst ("Inventory Transfer Master" which contains a list of "transfer codes"). This was not expressed in the database so placed a referential constraint on Ininvhst re-generating JPA2 entity classes produced: @JoinColumn(name = "IHTRAN", referencedColumnName = "TMCODE", nullable = false) @ManyToOne(optional = false) private Intrnmst intrnmst; Now previously I was using JPA2 to select the records/(Ininvhst entities) from the Ininvhst table where "ihtran" was one of a set of values. I used in.value() to do this... here is a snippet: cq = cb.createQuery(Ininvhst.class); ... In in = cb.in(transactionType); //Get in expression for transacton types for (String s : transactionTypes) { //has a value in = in.value(s);//check if the strings we are looking for exist in the transfer master } predicateList.add(in); My issue is that the Ininvhst used to contain a string called ihtran but now it contains Ininvhst... Or should I use a projection to somehow return Ininvhst along with the ihtran string which is now part of the Intrnmst entity. Or should I use a projection to return Ininvhst and somehow limit Intrnmst just just the ihtran string. Further information: I am using the resulting list of selected Ininvhst objects in a web application, the class which contains the list of Ininvhst objects is transformed into a json object. There are probably quite a few serialization methods that would navigate the object graph the problem is that my current fetch strategy is lazy so it hits the join entity (Intrnmst intrnmst) and there is no Entity Manager available at that point. At this point I have prevented the object from serializing the join column but now I am missing a critical piece of data. I think I've said too much but not knowing enough I don't know what you JPA experts need. What I would like is my original object to have both a string object and be able to join on the same column (ihtran) and have it as a string too, but if this isn't possible or advisable I want to hear what I should do and why. Pseudo code/English is more than fine.

I'm looking for a reliable way to verify T-SQL stored procedures. Anybody got one?

Hi all-- We're upgrading from SQL Server 2005 to 2008. Almost every database in the 2005 instance is set to 2000 compatibility mode, but we're jumping to 2008. Our testing is complete, but what we've learned is that we need to get faster at it. I've discovered some stored procedures that either SELECT data from missing tables or try to ORDER BY columns that don't exist. Wrapping the SQL to create the procedures in SET PARSEONLY ON and trapping errors in a try/catch only catches the invalid columns in the ORDER BYs. It does not find the error with the procedure selecting data from the missing table. SSMS 2008's intellisense, however, DOES find the issue, but I can still go ahead and successfully run the ALTER script for the procedure without it complaining. So, why can I even get away with creating a procedure that fails when it runs? Are there any tools out there that can do better than what I've tried? Please check this site This menu works with all other latest Browsers. But not with IE 6 & 7. I know IE6 don't support hover except anchor. So before I was using Whatever Hover. How to unit test synchronized code

Java SWT - placing image buttons on the image background

I am trying to put buttons with images(gif) on the background which has already been set as an image (shell.setBackgroundImage(image)) and I can't figure out how to remove transparent border around buttons with images. How to develop an english .com domain value rating algorithm?

I've been thinking about an algorithm that should rougly be able to guess the value of an english .com domain in most cases. For this to work I want to perform tests that consider the strengths and weaknesses of an english .com domain. A simple point based system is what I had in mind, where each domain property can be given a certain weight to factor it's importance in. I had these properties in mind: domain character length Eg. initially 20 points are added. If the domain has 4 or less characters, no points are substracted. For each extra character, one or more points are substracted on an exponential basis (the more characters, the higher the penalty). domain characters Eg. initially 20 points are added. If the domain is only alphabetic, no points are substracted. For each non-alhabetic character, X points are substracted (exponential increase again). domain name words Scans through a big offline english database, including non-formal speech, eg. words like "tweet" should be recognized. Question 1 : where can I get a modern list of english words for use in such application? Are these lists available for free? Are there lists like these with non-formal words? The more words are found per character, the more points are added. So, a domain with a lot of characters will still not get a lot of points. words hype-level I believe this is a tricky one, but this should be the cause to differentiate perfect but boring domains from perfect and interesting domains. For example, the following domain is probably not that valueable: www.peanutgalaxy.com The algorithm should identify that peanuts and galaxies are not very popular topics on the web. This is just an example. On the other side, a domain like www.shopdeals.com should ring a bell to the hype test, as shops and deals are quite popular on the web. My initial thought would be to see how often these keywords are references to on the web, preferably with some database. Question 2: is this logic flawed, or does this hype level test have merit? Question 3: are such "hype databases" available? Or is there anything else that could work offline? The problem with eg. a query to google is that it requires a lot of requests due to the many domains to be tested. domain name spelling mistakes Domains like "freemoneyz.com" etc. are generally (notice I am making a lot of assumptions in this post but that's necessary I believe) not valueable due to the spelling mistakes. Question 4: are there any offline APIs available to check for spelling mistakes, preferably in javascript or some database that I can use interact with myself. Or should a word list help here as well? use of consonants, vowels etc. A domain that is easy to pronounce (eg. Google) is usually much more valueable than one that is not (eg. Gkyld). Question 5: how does one test for such pronuncability? Do you check for consonants, vowels, etc.? What does a valueable domain have? Has there been any work in this field, where should I look? That is what I came up with, which leads me to my final two questions. Question 6: can you think of any more english .com domain strengths or weaknesses? Which? How would you implement these? What I'd like to do is take a call to the API, and record it somehow, so that I can return that recorded value to the code under test without actually calling the API. The returned structures cannot simply be memcpy'd, because they often contain inner pointers (pointers to other locations in the same buffer). The library in question would need to check for these kinds of things, and be able to restore pointer values to a similar buffer upon replay. (i.e. check each pointer sized value if it could be interpreted as a pointer within the buffer, change that to an offset, and remember to change it back to a pointer on replay -- a false positive rate here is acceptable) Is there anything out there that does anything like this?

Create and Share a File (Also a mysterious error)

My goal is to create a XML file and then send it through the share Intent. I first tried to access the file by converting the file to a Uri File outFile = context.getFileStreamPath(fileName); return Uri.fromFile(outFile); This returns file:///data/data/com.my.package/files/myfile.xml but I cannot appear to attach this to an email, upload, etc. If I manually check the file length, it's proper and shows there is a reasonable file size. Next I created a content provider and tried to reference the file and it isn't a valid handle to the file. The ContentProvider doesn't ever seem to be called a any point. Uri uri = Uri.parse("content://" + CachedFileProvider.AUTHORITY + "/" + fileName); return uri; This returns content://com.my.package.provider/myfile.xml but I check the file and it's zero length. How do I access files properly? Do I need to create the file with the content provider? If so, how? Update Here is the code I'm using to share. HTML/JS/CSS issue getting bigger by itself

Here's the picture to begin with. I have this check box, that when you check, then with jQuery toggle(); it hides that you see in first half of the picture (#writeComment) and shows #SCtryVOTE (what you see in the other half picture, to the right). Now i dont know why but of some reason it expands when its checked, why i dont know, is it because it needs more place than it have or? how do i make this work without having problems when its checked. How do I detect a file write error in C?

I have an embedded environment where a user might insert or remove a USB flash drive. I would like to know if the drive has been removed, or if there is some other problem when I try to write to the drive. However, Linux just saves the information in its buffers and returns with no indicated error. The computer I'm using comes with a 2.4.26 kernel and libc 2.3.2. I believe the same thing would happen if I simply removed the USB drive (without unmounting it). I have also fiddled with devfs. I figured out how to get it to automatically mount the drive, (with the REGISTER event) but it never seems to trigger the UNREGISTER when I pull out the memory. How can I determine in my program whether I have successfully created a file? Update 4 July: It was a silly oversight of me not to check the result from close(). Unfortunately, the file can be closed without error. So that didn't help. What about fsync()? That sounds like a good idea, but that didn't catch the error either. There might be some interesting information in /sys if I had such a thing. I believe that didn't get added until 2.6.?. The comment(s) about the quality of my flash drive are probably justified. It's one of the earlier ones. In fact, write protect switches seem to be extremely rare these days. I think I have to use the overkill option: Create a file, unmount & remount the drive, and check to see if the file is there. If that doesn't solve my problem, then something is really messed up! Note to myself: Make sure the file you try to create isn't already there! By the way, this does happen to be a C++ program. You can tell by the .c_str() which I had intended to edit out for simplicity.

"FOR UPDATE" v/s "LOCK IN SHARE MODE" : Allow concurrent threads to read updated "state" value of locked row

I have the following scenario: User X logs in to the application from location lc1: call it Ulc1 User X (has been hacked, or some friend of his knows his login credential, or he just logs in from a different browser on his machine,etc.. u got the point) logs in at the same time from location lc2: call it Ulc2 I am using a main servlet which : - gets a connection from database pooling - sets autocommit to false - executes a command that goes through app layers: if all successful, set autocommit to true in a "finally" statement, and closes connection. Else if an exception happens, rollback(). In my database (mysql/innoDb) i have a "history" table, with row columns: id(primary key) |username | date | topic | locked The column "locked" has by default value "false" and it serves as a flag that marks if a specific row is locked or not. Each row is specific to a user (as u can see from the username column) So back to the scenario: --Ulc1 sends the command to update his history from the db for date "D" and topic "T". --Ulc2 sends the same command to update history from the db for the same date "D" and same topic "T" at the exact same time. I want to implement an mysql/innoDB locking system that will enable whichever thread arriving to do the following check: Is column "locked" for this row true or not? if true, return a message to the user that " he is already updating the same data from another location" if not true (ie not locked) : flag it as locked and update then reset locked to false once finished. Which of these two mysql locking techniques, will actually allow the 2nd arriving thread from reading the "updated" value of the locked column to decide wt action to take?Should i use "FOR UPDATE" or "LOCK IN SHARE MODE"? This scenario explains what i want to accomplish: - Ulc1 thread arrives first: column "locked" is false, set it to true and continue updating process - Ulc2 thread arrives while Ulc1's transaction is still in process, and even though the row is locked through innoDb functionalities, it doesn't have to wait but in fact reads the "new" value of column locked which is "true", and so doesn't in fact have to wait till Ulc1 transaction commits to read the value of the "locked" column(anyway by that time the value of this column will already have been reset to false). I am not very experienced with the 2 types of locking mechanisms, what i understand so far is that LOCK IN SHARE MODE allow other transaction to read the locked row while FOR UPDATE doesn't even allow reading. But does this read gets on the updated value? or the 2nd arriving thread has to wait the first thread to commit to then read the value? Any recommendations about which locking mechanism to use for this scenario is appreciated. Get Image Source URLs from a Different Page Using JS

Everyone: I'm trying to grab the source URLs of images from one page and use them in some JavaScript in another page. I know how to pull in images using JQuery .load(). However, rather than load all the images and display them on the page, I want to just grab the source URLs so I can use them in a JS array. Page 1 is just a page with images: <html> <head> </head> <body> <img id="image0" src="image0.jpg" /> <img id="image1" src="image1.jpg" /> <img id="image2" src="image2.jpg" /> <img id="image3" src="image3.jpg" /> </body> </html> Page 2 contains my JS. (Please note that the end goal is to load images into an array, randomize them, and using cookies, show a new image on page load every 10 seconds. All this is working. However, rather than hard code the image paths into my javascript as shown below, I'd prefer to take the paths from Page 1 based on their IDs. Not sure I am using inheritance/polymorphism issue?

So for this assignment I have to create a car class(parent) and a certifiedpreowned (child) and I need to have the parent class have a method to check if it is still under warranty. *checkWarrantyStatus(). that method calls the boolean isCoveredUnderWarranty() to veryify if the car still has warranty. My issue is in the certifiedpreowned class I have to call the isCoveredUnderWarranty() as well to see if it is covered under the extended warranty and then have it be called via the checkWarrantyStatus() in the car method. I hope this makes sense. So to sum it up I need to in the child class have it check the isCoveredUnderWarranty with extended warranty info. Then it has to move to the parent class so it can be called via checkWarrantyStatus. How to reserve public API to internal usage in .NET?

Dear ladies and sirs. Let me first present the case, which will explain my question. This is going to be a bit long, so I apologize in advance :-). I have objects and collections, which should support the Merge API (it is my custom API, the signature of which is immaterial for this question). This API must be internal, meaning only my framework should be allowed to invoke it. However, derived types should be able to override the basic implementation. The natural way to implement this pattern as I see it, is this: The Merge API is declared as part of some internal interface, let us say IMergeable. Because the interface is internal, derived types would not be able to implement it directly. Rather they must inherit it from a common base type. So, a common base type is introduced, which would implement the IMergeable interface explicitly, where the interface methods delegate to respective protected virtual methods, providing the default implementation. This way the API is only callable by my framework, but derived types may override the default implementation. The following code snippet demonstrates the concept: internal interface IMergeable { void Merge(object obj); } public class BaseFrameworkObject : IMergeable { protected virtual void Merge(object obj) { // The default implementation. } void IMergeable.Merge(object obj) { Merge(obj); } } public class SomeThirdPartyObject : BaseFrameworkObject { protected override void Merge(object obj) { // A derived type implementation. } } All is fine, provided a single common base type suffices, which is usually true for non collection types. The thing is that collections must be mergeable as well. Collections do not play nicely with the presented concept, because developers do not develop collections from the scratch. There are predefined implementations - observable, filtered, compound, read-only, remove-only, ordered, god-knows-what, ... They may be developed from scratch in-house, but once finished, they serve wide range of products and should never be tailored to some specific product. Which means, that either: they do not implement the IMergeable interface at all, because it is internal to some product the scope of the IMergeable interface is raised to public and the API becomes open and callable by all. Let us refer to these collections as standard collections. Anyway, the first option screws my framework, because now each possible standard collection type has to be paired with the respective framework version, augmenting the standard with the IMergeable interface implementation - this is so bad, I am not even considering it. The second option breaks the framework as well, because the IMergeable interface should be internal for a reason (whatever it is) and now this interface has to open to all. So what to do? My solution is this. make IMergeable public API, but add an extra parameter to the Merge method, I call it a security token. The interface implementation may check that the token references some internal object, which is never exposed to the outside. If this is the case, then the method was called from within the framework, otherwise - some outside API consumer attempted to invoke it and so the implementation can blow up with a SecurityException. Testing for Adjacent Cells In a Multi-level Grid

I'm designing an algorithm to test whether cells on a grid are adjacent or not. The catch is that the cells are not on a flat grid. They are on a multi-level grid such as the one drawn below. This diagram is simplified from my actual need but the concept is the same. There is a top level block with many cells within it (level 1). Each block is further subdivided into many more cells (level 2). Those cells are further subdivided into level 3, 4 and 5 for my project but let's just stick to two levels for this question. I'm receiving inputs for my function in the form of "A8, A9, B7, D3". That's a list of cell Ids where each cell Id has the format (level 1 id)(level 2 id). Let's start by comparing just 2 cells, A8 and A9. Either that or just check naively if the A/B pair is 3-1, 6-4 or 9-7 for better readability. For B7 - D3, they are not adjacent but D3 is adjacent to A9 so I can do a similar adjacency test as above. So getting away from the little details and focusing on the big picture. Is this really the best way to do it? Keeping in mind the following points: I actually have 5 levels not 2, so I could potentially get a list like "A8A1A, A8A1B, B1A2A, B1A2B". Adding a new cell to compare still requires me to compare all the other cells before it (seems like the best I could do for this step is O(n)) The cells aren't all 3x3 blocks, they're just that way for my example. They could be MxN blocks with different M and N for different levels. In my current implementation above, I have separate functions to check adjacency if the cells are in the same blocks, if they are in separate horizontally adjacent blocks or if they are in separate vertically adjacent blocks. That means I have to know the position of the two blocks at the current level before I call one of those functions for the layer below. Judging by the complexity of having to deal with mulitple functions for different edge cases at different levels and having 5 levels of nested if statements. I'm wondering if another design is more suitable. Perhaps a more recursive solution, use of other data structures, or perhaps map the entire multi-level grid to a single-level grid (my quick calculations gives me about 700,000+ atomic cell ids). Even if I go that route, mapping from multi-level to single level is a non-trivial task in itself.
