  • Chrome targeted CSS

    I have some CSS code that hides the cursor on a web page (it is a client facing static screen with no interaction). The code I use to do this is below: *, html { cursor: url('/web/resources/graphics/blank.cur'), pointer; } Blank.cur is a totally blank cursor file. This code works perfectly well in all browsers when I host the web files on my local server but when I upload to a Windows CE webserver (our production unit) the cursor represents itself as a black box. Odd. After some testing it seems that chrome only has a problem with totally blank cursor files when served from WinCE web server, so I created a blank cursor with one pixel as white, specifically for chrome. How do I then target this CSS rule to chrome specifically? i.e. *, html { cursor: url('/web/resources/graphics/blank.cur'), pointer; } <!--[if CHROME]> *, html { cursor: url('/web/resources/graphics/blankChrome.cur'), pointer; } <![endif]-->

  • Trying to use jquery ui in google chrome extension in the content level

    The problem is that the scope of the content script is on the web page that your plugin is suppose to be used at. So the css background:url(images/ui-bg_inset-hard_100_fcfdfd_1x100.png) becomes url('http://webpageforplugin/images/ui-bg_inset-hard_100_fcfdfd_1x100.png') in order for this to work as far as i understood i need to have it to point to: url('chrome-extension://extensionId/images/ui-bg_inset-hard_100_fcfdfd_1x100.png') So i tried to haxorz the document.styleSheets var ss = document.styleSheets; for (var i=0; i<ss.length; i++) { var found=-1, x,i; var rules = ss[i].cssRules || ss[i].rules; for (var j=0; j<rules.length; j++) { if ('.ui-helper-hidden'==rules[j].selectorText){ found=i; break; } } if (found>-1){ for (var j=0; j<rules.length; j++) { if (x=rules[j].style.background){ if ((i=x.indexOf('url'))!=-1) rules[j].style.background = x.replace('http://page/images/','chrome-extension://extensionId/images/'); } } break; } }; I feel that i'm missing the obvious. That there must be an easier way. Even if i manage to change this how will i get the extension id to build the string. Btw this doesn't work, the icons are not properly fetched. (I hardcoded the extension id) Any ideas?

    Never seen this before in ASP.NET development. I'm trying to refactor out 40 single-page ASP.NET pages to code-behind style. What does this code do? // Validate required parameters (if "new", then nothing is required) if (!this.IsNew()) { if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(_billId)) { responseErrorNo = 4; Utils.SendError(respErrNum); } } Its on a single-page design ASP.NET page in the block in the Page_Load method. On a code-behind page this code ( .IsNew) is not recognized. What am I missing here? Is there an MSDN page on IsNew of the "page"?

  • How do Apple code level support requests work?

    I'm having an issue with a build that I can't figure out, and I'm considering filing a support request. It says I'll get contacted in about 3 days usually. Can anyone explain the process this takes, because I don't want to burn one of these by screwing up!     Is there a quick way (e.g. tool) to detect, from the source (or maybe even from compiled classes), which parts of an application call Java API methods that are only implemented in a specific Java version? (e.g. which parts of my app are Java6-specific) I don't necessarily want to hop through all ClassMismatchErrors and avoid the trial-and-error-method. Let's say I only want to document which parts of an application won't work if they were writte for, e.g., Java6 and I want to run it in a version 5 JDK. Is there something like this? Google did not help this time, nor did I find any solution here (a rare case indeed:)

    I've seen contradictory answers on the internet with regard to whether C++/CLI is a superset of C++ or not. The accepted answer on this question claims that "technically no", but doesn't provide an examples of non-C++/CLI code that conforms to ISO C++. Another answer on that question cites a book that says the opposite. So, can you please provide accurate answers with example code that fails on C++/CLI or cite a trusted source (MSDN for example) on this matter? I had someone this topic come up today and thought I would like to inform myself, but I didn't find any clear answer elsewhere!

  • Windows 7 versus Windows XP multithreading - Delphi app not acting right

    I'm having a problem with a Delphi Pro 6 application that I wrote on my Windows XP machine when it runs on Windows 7. I don't have Windows 7 to test yet and I'm trying to see if Windows 7 might be the source of the trouble. Is there a fundamental difference between the way Windows 7 handles threads compared to Windows XP? I am seeing things happen out of sequence in my error logs on Windows 7 and it's causing problems. For example, objects that should have been initialized are uninitialized when running on Windows 7, yet those objects are initialized on Windows XP by the time they are needed. Some questions: 1) Are there any core differences that could cause threads/processes to behave differently between the two operating system versions? 2) I know this next question may seem absurd, but does Windows 7 attempt to split/fork threads that aren't split/forked on Windows XP? 3) And lastly, are there any known issues with FPU handling that can cause XP programs trouble when run on Windows 7 due to operational differences in wait state handling or register storage, or perhaps something like Exception mask settings, etc? 4) Any 32-bit versus 64-bit issues that could be creating trouble here? -- roschler

  • Trying to make my leaflet map work on internet explorer

    I have been tearing my hair out of late trying to get my web map working on internet explorer. It's working flawlessly on every other major browser but none of the content will load in IE. Anyone out there who's good at browser testing that could help out? I know the leaflet javascript api, which I'm using for this project, supports IE in theory. In practice this isn't working out too well...     I have a survey web-app that is public facing. I want to set up automated testing with Selenium, but selenium can't capture javascript alerts that we're currently using on the site. I'm thinking about changing our user-facing error notifications to some web 2.0 javascript library so that it is accessible to Selenium. However, I'm not sure how many of our users would be able to experience them properly. How backwards-compatible do I need to be in the present day? I have collected a database of actual user-agent strings of our users. I asked here how I could group them into meaningful data about what browsers our users are actually using.

    Is there any Inheritance problem with <table>, tr th td tbody thead tfoot also like form elements? In IE 6+ and FF 3+ with Strict doctype. Tables also have inheritance turned off in some browsers. You may notice that in some browsers, your tables’ text will be larger, clunkier and not so pretty. This is also due to inheritance. Many browsers give tables their own style. It's mentioned here http://www.komodomedia.com/blog/2006/10/css-trickery-part-5-inheritance/ For which browsers author is talking about, it's not mentioned I tested on FF 3.6 and IE7 but unable to find is there any issue.   • Sharepoint page level security

    Hi, Another SharePoint question from myself! I've created a subsite and from within Sharepoint designer I've created a new aspx page, all nice and simple so far. I can't seem to find where I can change the security on this new page, only site admins can view the page and everyone else gets access denied. It doesn't seem to inherit the permissions from the parent and I can't see where to change the security settings! Please help, I'm sure it's something simple! Thanks Dan

When I display the page whatever the browser it happens that I can get the same content for both the iframes even if looking at the source code the iframe are still different (based on their src and id). It doesn't happen 100% of the time, I have to refresh sometimes several times to see it. Do you have any clue ? Thanks in advance

Unless one would reroute .aspx to .php ?

    I need to deal with Affiliate Tracking on our website. In our .htaccess we have: RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} affiliate=(.*) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1? [NC,R,L,co=AFFID:%1:%{HTTP:Host}:7200:/] Which creates a COOKIE called AFFID with the value of the URL Parameter affiliate. But the Cookie is not for the whole domain, i.e. Going to http://www.domain.com/?affiliate=bmk sets the AFFID cookie with the value bmk for .www.domain.com but I would like ti to be for .domain.com so that it can be used across our secure domain which will be secure.domain.com Any help would be appreciated Cheers
