  • CSS Background image in Redmine template arbitrarily not loading

    I`m in the process of building a template for Redmine (a project management system based on Ruby on Rails.) Ruby is running on a virtual server from a Bitnami.org installation package. The OS is Windows. The template essentially consists of a styles.css file. In that file, I have the following line: #header { padding: 0px; padding-top: 48px; background-color: #62DFFF; background-image: url(../images/bkg.jpg) background-position: center bottom; background-repeat: repeat-x; height:150px; } It's a header element with a background image. The problem: This background image arbitrarily appears and disappears when reloading. Say you reload ten times in twenty seconds; the image will appear in two instances, and be missing in the 18 others. I would have put this down to server problems, but the weird thing is that when it's missing, the request for the image doesn't appear in Firebug's net tab at all. Even if it were cached, the request should be there. Raw screenshots of the identical page on two reloads: I am 100% sure the CSS file does not change in between. I have examined both instances with Firebug and the CSS is identical. It happens in both Firefox and Chrome so it must be something basic I'm overlooking. What could be causing a browser not to load a resource at all? I have zero idea about Ruby nor Rails - getting Redmine running and customized is all I have ever had to do with this platform - so I don't really know where to look. Apache's, Mongrel's and Redmine's error logs look fine, though.

    I have a web app that has several tree views. When the page loads i see the unordered lists and after a small latency the styling of the tree is rendered into the DOM. Is there a way to mask the webapp, and have a spinner in the middle of the screen, and when everything on the page is fully rendered the spinner goes away and the mask fades out? Kind of like a semi transparent mask that you would see on a lightbox pop-up dialog.

    is there an inbuilt method of tracking if a bundle has already been loaded? I have several edit views which forexample require jquery and jquery.Validate etc libraries. Which i don't need to reference on the main layout page.     The problem is I am using get_info() to make a ajax call to Result.lasso and paste the response in div with id 'test'.I am unable to use the sendForm() function from the page where i am calling the get_info(). I have also tried using different versions of jQuery 1.1.1.3 is working fine.But i am facing the problem while using higher versions of jquery.   • Why are functions loaded at aligned addresses in x86 Linux for elf executables?

    Hi, I've been looking at Linux elf executables on x86, mostly using IDA but also gdb. One thing I've noticed is functions are always loaded at word aligned addresses? Anybody knows the reason of that? I am not aware of any requirement of x86 instructions to start at aligned addresses. And it cannot be due to page alignment cause the page boundary can still be anywhere within the function. I would appreciate any insight at all. Thanks.

  • $.ajax not loading data data everytime from server

    I have written a simple jQuery.ajax function which loads a user control from the server on click of a button. The first time I click the button, it goes to the server and gets me the user control. But each subsequent click of the same button does not goes to the server to fetch me the user control. Since my user control fetches data from db, I need to reload the user control everytime i hit the button. But if anyhow I get my user control to unload from the page, and re-click the button, it goes to the server and fetches me the user control.   • problem loading texture with transparency with OpenGL ES and Android

    Im trying to load an image that has background transparency that will be layered over another texture. When i try and load it, all i get is a white screen. The texture is 512 by 512, and its saved in photoshop as a 24 bit PNG (standard PNG specs in the Photoshop Save for Web and Devices config window). Any idea why its not showing? The texture without transparency shows without a problem. I know I can pass $x using form and then test its value and load required bit of code, but I would like to do it smoothly, without reloading the page. I think that JQuery could help it, but I have no idea how to do it. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

  • Loading embedded resource on Windows 7

    Hello, I have an app that works just fine on my WinXP machine. However, when I try running it on my Win7 machine, it fails whenever it tries to load an embedded resource. The resources are all there (I can see them using Reflector). The lines that fail are all of the form: Splash.Image = new Bitmap(typeof(ContainerForm).Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream("SplashTest.Resources.Logo.gif")); And they all fail with the same exception: Exception='System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid. at System.Drawing.Bitmap..ctor(Stream stream) I don't understand why this is not working on my Win7 machine but does on my usual WinXP dev machine. Any ideas?

  • Castle ActiveRecord: session error search and access to lazy loading property in different threads

    Hi *, I've got a problem with an multi-threaded desktop application using Castle ActiveRecord in C#: To keep the GUI alive while searching for the objects based on userinput I'm using the BackgroundWorker for the search-function. Some of the properties of the objects, especially some HasMany-Relations, are marked as Lazy. Now, when the search is finished and the user selects an resulting object, some of the properties of this object should be displayed. But as the search was done by the BackgroundWorker in a different thread, accessing the properties fails as the session for the lazy-access is no longer available. What will be the best way to do the search in an extra thread to keep the GUI alive and to access all properties correctly including those marked as lazy? Thanks for any advise! Regards sc911

    The google analytics code went to an async load model some time back. I've noticed that a lot of the other scripts I use on many sites are causing slow load times - specifically the addthis script and the facebook like button. I'm noticing that the slow load times of these scripts is causing the google bot to calc my page loadtimes as being much slower than previously. I'd like to know if there is a standard/generic way of causing these scripts to load async as well, or perhaps a pointer to someone who has done the work for this already. Seems this would be a popular thing to do, but not much luck searching around.

I have a list of urls which contents cyrillic. Maybe they have uncorrect encoding?   • getResourceAsStream not loading resource in webapp

    I have a web application that uses a library which resides in TOMCAT_HOME/common/lib. This library looks for a properties file at the root of the classpath (in a class called ApplicationConfig): ApplicationConfig.class.getResourceAsStream("/hv-application.properties"); My Tomcat web application contains this properties file. It is in WEB-INF/classes, which is the root of the classpath right? However, at runtime, when it tries to load the properties file, it throws an exception because it can't find it (getResourceAsStream returns null). Everything works fine if my application is a simple, standalone Java application. Does Tomcat cause the getResourceAsStream method to act differently? I know there's a lot of similar questions out there, but none of them have helped unfortunately. Thanks.
