    Is it possible to remove than add back click event to specific element? i.e I have a $("#elem").click(function{//some behaviour});, $(".elem").click(function{//some behaviour});(there are more than 1 element) while my other function getJson is executing I'd like to remove the click event from the #elem, and add it again onsuccess from getJson function, but preserve both mouseenter and mouseleave events the whole time? Or maybe create overlay to prevent clicking like in modal windows? is that better idea? edit : I've seen some really good answers, but there is one detail that I omitted not on purpose. There are more than one element, and I call the click function on the className not on elementId as I stated in the original question

So lest say I have this as a hypothetical example List<car> list1 = GetTheList(); List<car> list2 = GetSomeOtherList(); I want to traverse list1 with a foreach and remove each item in List1 in List2. I'm not quite sure how to go about that as foreach is not index based.

    Hello, I have a script that each time is called gets the 1st line of a file. Each line is known to be exactly of the same length (32 alphanumerci chars) and terminates with a "\r\n". After getting the 1st line, the script removes it. Now I do in this way: $contents = file_get_contents($file)); $first_line = substr($contents, 0, 32); file_put_contents($file, substr($contents, 32 + 2)); //+2 because we remove also the \r\n Obvioulsy it works, but I was wondering if there could be a smarter (or more efficent) way to do this??? In my simple solution I basically read and rewrite all the file just to take and remove the 1st line. Thanks!

Each time the page loads, a JavaScript function (that I cannot modify) dynamically inserts a paragraph onto the page. How can I use JQuery to .remove() that paragraph whenever it is loaded? For example, when the page first loads, it look like this (blank): <div></div> Then, a few seconds later, a JavaScript function (that I have no control over) adds a paragraph to the page.     I'm trying to pull in an src value from an XML document, and in one that I'm testing it with, the src is: <content src="content/Orwell - 1984 - 0451524934_split_2.html#calibre_chapter_2"/> That creates a problem when trying to open the file. I'm not sure what that #(stuff) suffix is called, so I had no luck searching for an answer. I'd just like a simple way to remove it if possible. I suppose I could write a function to search for a # and remove anything after, but that would break if the filename contained a # symbol (or can a file even have that symbol?) Thanks!

    I'm trying to make a linked list class in python (pointless I know, but it's a learning exercise), and the method I have written to remove a node doesn't work if I try to remove the first element of the linked list. If the node to be removed is anywhere else in the linked list the method works fine. Can someone give me some insight as to where I've gone wrong? In this case, I need to delete the intersection of A and B from A. A = [['ab', 'cd', 'ef', '0', '567'], ['ghy5'], ['pop', 'eye']] B = [['ab'], ['hi'], ['op'], ['ej']] My objective is to compare A and B and delete A intersection B from A, i.e., delete A[0][0] in this case.     I'm creating a tile-based game and am using block rendering to update a large list of tiles. I'm attempting to do this in the most simple manner, so I've been trying to work with HTML's default layouts. Right now I'm creating 'inline-blocks', omitting whitespace between the elements to avoid horizontal spaces in between them but when the blocks overflow and create a new line there is some vertical margining in which I do not know how to remove. Example to make this a bit clearer: http://jsfiddle.net/mLa93/13/ (Pretty much I just need to remove the spacing between the block rows while retaining the simple markup.)

    I'm new to MySQL struggling to find a version and workbench which works stably on my 64 bit windows 7 machine. I've decided to attempt to completely remove MySQL from my machine and to restart the installation process from scratch. However, after uninstalling all software linked with MySQL using conventional control panel uninstalling means some MySQL windows services still remain on my machine. I can't see any obvious method to remove these and they have since been causing me difficulties when trying to install different versions of MySQL. Could anyone please advise?
