• How to know coordinates in a real image from a scaled image.

  Hi folks, First of all thanks for your time reading my question :-) I have an original image (w': 2124, h': 3204) and the same image scaled (w: 512, h: 768). The ratio for width is 4.14 (rw) and the ratio for height is 4.17 (rh). I'm trying to know the coordinates (x', y') in the original image when I receive the coordinates in the scaled image (x, y). I'm using the formula: x' = x * rw and y' = y * rh. But when I'm painting a line, or a rectangle always appears a shift that is incremented when x or y is higher. Please anybody knows how to transform coordinates without loosing of accuracy. Thanks in advance! Oscar.

• Printing array with delimiters in Perl

  I have an array in Perl I want to print with space delimiters between each element, except every 10th element which should be newline delimited. There aren't any spaces in the elements if that matters. I've written a function to do it with for and a counter, but I wondered if there's a better/shorter/canonical Perl way, perhaps a special join syntax or similar. • Vibrations when exploding/repacking movie

  Please bear with me, I know that what I'm doing can sound strange, but I can guarantee there's a very good reason for that. I took a movie with my camera, as avi. I imported the movie into iMovie and then exploded the single frames as PNG. Then I repacked these frames into mov using the following code movie, error = QTMovie.alloc().initToWritableFile_error_(out_path, None) mt = QTMakeTime(v, scale) attrib = {QTAddImageCodecType: "jpeg"} for path in png_paths: image = NSImage.alloc().initWithContentsOfFile_(path) movie.addImage_forDuration_withAttributes_(image, mt, attrib) movie.updateMovieFile() The resulting mov works, but it looks like the frames are "nervous" and shaky when compared to the original avi, which appears smoother. The size of the two files is approximately the same, and both the export and repacking occurred at 30 fps. The pics also appear to be aligned, so it's not due to accidental shift of the frames. My question is: by knowing the file formats and the process I performed, what is the probable cause of such result ? How can I fix it ?

• Move entire line up and down in Vim

  In Notepad++, I can use ctrl + shift + up/down to move the current line up and down. Is there a similar command to this in Vim? I have looked through endless guides, but have found nothing. If there isn't, how could I bind the action to that key combination? Edit: Mykola's answer works for all lines, apart from those at the beginning and end of the buffer. Moving the first line up or the bottom line down deletes the line, and when moving the bottom line up it jumps two spaces initially, like a pawn! Can anyone offer any refinements?

• AutoKey - clipboard.get_selection() function fails on certain strings

  I've simplified my script so you can focus on the essence my problem. In AutoKey (not AutoHotKey), I made a Hot-Key (shift-alt-T) that performs this script on any string I have highlighted (like in gedit for example -- but any other gui editor too). strSelectedText = clipboard.get_selection() keyboard.send_keys(" " + strSelectedText) The script modifies the highlighted text and adds a space to the beginning of the string. It works for most strings I highlight, but not this one: * Copyright © 2008–2012 Lonnie Best. Licensed under the MIT License. It works for this string: * Add a Space 2.0.1 but not on this one: * Add a Space 2.0.1 – At the python command prompt, it has no problem any of those strings, yet the clipboard.get_selection() function seems to get corrupted by them. I'm rather new to python scripting, so I'm not sure if this is an AutoKey bug, or if I'm missing some knowledge I should know about encoding/preparing strings in python. Please help. • Batch files - number of command line arguments

  Just converting some shell scripts into batch files and there is one thing I can't seem to find...and that is a simple count of the number of command line arguments. eg. if you have: myapp foo bar In Shell: $# - 2 $* - foo bar $0 - myapp $1 - foo $2 - bar In batch ?? - 2 <---- what command?! %* - foo bar %0 - myapp %1 - foo %2 - bar So I've looked around, and either I'm looking in the wrong spot or I'm blind, but I can't seem to find a way to get a count of number of command line arguments passed in. Is there a command similar to shell's "$#" for batch files? ps. the closest i've found is to iterate through the %1s and use 'shift', but I need to refernece %1,%2 etc later in the script so that's no good.

Also the spacebar should be enabled. Otherwise the ajax search would be triggered as well if the shift-, option, or control-key, is pressed.   I downloaded the Access template below for doing a home inventory: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=home%20inventory&ex=1&queryid=0d245f2a%2Dacdc%2D4161%2D92c8%2D8ba16a52ab32&AxInstalled=1&c=0#ai:TC101918100| The design view is not visible, which is a bit of a nuisance. Things I've tried: 1) In options/options/current database/ the check boxes (enable layout view & enable design changes for tables in Datasheet view) are both greyed out. 2) I've unblocked the file using Right-Click-Properties. 3) I've tried copying/exporting the objects to another database. But can only copy/export the tables. 4) I've tried holding shift when opening the DB. 5) Enabling all trust permissions etc. None of these work Does anybody have any suggestions. (I'm using Office 2010) Thanks

  My mission is to press a keyboard sequence, such as Ctrl +Shift +R, to restart a Windows Service. I have a script which works fine in the PowerShell ISE, when launched with administrative privileges. When I try with a PowerShell script it fails due to insufficient Administrative Privileges. It’s galling that I can get it to work with an old-fashioned bat file, but not PowerShell. The root of the problem is that shortcuts to a PowerShell script have their Administrative privileges box greyed out. So far no work-around has overcome this privilege problem. Any ideas?

• iPhone and Vertex Buffer Objects

  I've just started playing around with opengl es on the iphone the past couple of weeks and i'm looking at refactoring some of my code to use Vertex Buffer Objects(VBO). Before I do though I would like to make sure it'll be worth it. The problem is that afaik the only reason you create VBO's is to shift a chunk of data onto the graphics card so that it doesn't need to be retrieved from system ram when it's used. The iPhone however does not have any dedicated ram that I'm aware of so i'm struggling to see why I would benefit at all from using VBO's. I have seen talk around the internet with conflicting opinions and apple certainly want dev's to use it so there's probably still a reason to use them but just wanted to see if anyone on SO had an opinion to add.

List of keyboard entries: letters [ ] ~ ^ numbers Part of the code: void HookManager_KeyUp(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { string test = e.KeyCode.ToString(); Here numbers, letters and square brackets work correctly but the ~ and ^ which require shift key is read incorrectly.   I have a database server in "Europe/London" time zone and my web server in "Europe/Brussels". Since it is summer time now my application server has a 2 hour difference. I created a test to reproduce my issue: Query q = JPA.em().createNativeQuery("SELECT UNIX_TIMESTAMP(startDateTime) FROM `Event` WHERE `id` =574"); BigInteger unix = (BigInteger) q.getSingleResult(); System.out.println(unix + "000 UNIX_TIMESTAMP to BigInteger"); Query q2 = JPA.em().createNativeQuery("SELECT startDateTime FROM `Event` WHERE `id` =574"); Timestamp o = (Timestamp) q2.getSingleResult(); System.out.println(o.getTime() + " Timestamp"); The startDateTime column is defined as 'datetime' (but same issue with 'timestamp') The output I am getting is this: 1340291591000 UNIX_TIMESTAMP to BigInteger 1340284391000 Timestamp Reading java date objects results in a shift in time zone, how do I fix this? I would expect the jdbc driver to just set the "unix time" value it gets from the server in the Date object. (a proper solution should work with any timezone combination, not only for db in GMT)

  Hi guys, can anyone help me on my problem? I only see black screen after the startup.. It just shows the logo and the status bar upon start, then it goes black screen with moveable cursor. I tried alt+ctrl+del, but it doesn't work. I pressed shift 5 times and it makes a sound. I already removed battery and restarted it, but still the same. I can go to safe mode and scanned thru there. Still, desktop won't show up. Don't know what else to check? Been searching the net for solutions. Please help? :(

  Hey, I've been trying to be able to read and write iTunes style M4A atoms and while I've successfully done the reading part, I've come to a bit of a halt in regards to the free space atoms. I figured that I should be able edit and shift the padding around to accommodate writing an atom with more data than it originally had. I've been stuck on this for about a day now, and I've been trying to figure out how to determine the closest free space atom with enough size to accommodate the new data. so far I have: private freeAtom acquireFreeSpaceAtom( long position ) { long atomStart = Long.MAX_VALUE; freeAtom atom = null; for( freeAtom a : freeSpace ) { if( Math.abs( position - atomStart ) > Math.abs( position - a.getAtomStart() ) ) atomStart = ( atom = a ).getAtomStart(); } return atom; } That code only takes into account the closest free space atom and completely disregards the fact that it should be greater than or equal to a certain size, but I can't quite figure out how I should check for both closeness and size efficiently.
