• How to call SOAP web service in Android

  I am having a lot of trouble finding good information on how to call a standard SOAP/WSDL web service with Android. All I've been able to find are either very convoluted documents and references to "kSoap2" and then some bit about parsing it all manually with SAX. OK, that's fine, but it's 2008 so I figured there should be some good library for calling standard web services. The web service is just basically one created in NetBeans. I would like to have IDE support for generating the plumbing classes. I just need the easiest/most-elegant way to contact a WSDL based web service from an Android based phone.

• oracle call stored procedure inside select

  Hi everybody. I'm working on a query (a SELECT) and I need to insert the result of this one in a table. Before doing the insert I have some checking to do, and if all columns are valid, I will do the insert. The checking is done in a stored procedure. The same procedure is used somewhere else too. So I'm thinking using the same procedure to do my checks. The procedure does the checkings and insert the values is all OK. I tryied to call the procedure inside my SELECT but it does not works. SELECT field1, field2, myproc(field1, field2) from MYTABLE. This kind of code does not works. I think it can be done using a cursor, but I would like to avoid the cursors. I'm looking for the easiest solution. Anybody, any idea ? Thanks alot. C.C.

  I need to improve the response time for a Grails application, so I need to use concurrent processing to separate work that can be done after the users web page is refreshed It seems like the Camel and background-thread plugins can do this for me. I tried the Camel way, but get 'Session does not exists' errors, which looks like hibernate can not operate in an Camel acynchonouse call. In the background-thread description they mention that they solved this problem. Can any one tell me which which will be the better choice and which ones plays nicely with Hibernate?   I have two classes, both of which need to be able to call the same instance of entitymanager class Engine { EntityManager::Entitymanager EManager; } And I need to add an object to a vector contained by this particular instance of Engine. What I want to do is be able to add a bullet spawned by the player to the vector that contains all my entities. class Player : Entity { void SpawnBullet() {Engine::EManager.Add(BULLET);} } The above returns this error: error: object missing in reference to ‘Engine::EManager’ How do I resolve this?   I know this. Calling C function from C++: If my application was in C++ and I had to call functions from a library written in C. Then I would have used //main.cpp extern "C" void C_library_function(int x, int y);//prototype C_library_function(2,4);// directly using it. This wouldn't mangle the name C_library_function and linker would find the same name in its input *.lib files and problem is solved. Calling C++ function from C??? But here I'm extending a large application which is written in C and I need to use a library which is written in C++. Name mangling of C++ is causing trouble here. Linker is complaining about the unresolved symbols. Well I cannot use C++ compiler over my C project because thats breaking lot of other stuff. What is the way out? By the way I'm using MSVC

  Say I have 2 activities (ActivityOne and ActivityTwo). How would I call ActivityTwo from ActivityOne? Then how would I return to ActivityOne from ActivityTwo? For example, I have a listview with all the contacts on the host phone. When I tap on a contact, another activity shows information and allows editing of that contact. Then I could hit the back button, and I would go back to the exact state that ActivityOne was in before I called ActivityTwo. I was thinking an Intent object, but I am not sure. Could someone post some code?

The thing is I want all links to reset and fill the same div. I am having trouble doing this without making a seperate div for each link, which isn't what I'm looking for. • Call center workflow scenario with WF 4

  I need to develop a workflow for a call center. A bot will ask some predefined questions to the caller. Based on the answers the workflow will decide the questions to ask and finally redirect the caller to a representative that has required skills. Based on the scenario above, I have several questions. How can I make the workflow "wait" between asking a question to the caller and receiving response from the caller? Do I have to use HandleExternalEvent? If so do I have to define an event for every question? Flowchart workflow seems to be the best solution but I can't imagine how to handle this waiting issue right now. Any help is appreciated.

  I am trying to implement sync adaptor, I have followed This guide. But onPerformSync() is not triggered after ContentResolver.requestSync() call . I have also tried some other tutorials and tried to run their code, but still same issue. Please tell me does I need to do some extra configuration for this.   Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func,void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too.   Hi, I want to post some data via javascript to another domain. Something like: http://www.othersite.com/submitfunnyname?name=blah The other site (othersite.com) has a REST interface that you can call (well actually this is a get example) to submit a funny name to them. Can I do this already with javascript? I'm a little confused on this - I know if that service wants to return some data, I'd need to use something like JSON-P - even though here I'm submitting some data, I guess the service will return some message structure letting me know the result, so it would have to be JSON-P, right? • increasing speed and efficiency of ajax call

  I'm not the most disciplined dev, dont know standards and am self-taught so bear with me. I create stuff very logically and fast but not always using 'programming standards'. I have a mobile app using geolocation API. it gets thousands of places from my db and makes gmaps v3 markers for the ones around the user's current location. there is an ajax call from my JS to an aspx page that calls the database, makes a json string, and sends the json string to the javascript that then creates the google map markers. would i save time if the json string was in a flat file? im not sure if, generally speaking, accessing a sql db from an aspx page is faster than c# file i/o on a flat file with pre-rendered JSON. (of course, using the flat file, it would update everytime the db is updated)

  I need to develop an application where a Java client calls a Java application located on the server with certain parameters, the Java application on the server computes data and sends the data back to the client. Everything needs to go through port 80 on which I have a IIS webserver listening. I cannot open any other port on the server. Is there any way I can do this? The server can write files in a directory that the client can read but I am not sure how to handle the synchronization and I don't know how to call a script on the server from the client through port 80. Every suggestion would be highly appreciated Thanks a lot in advance, this problem is making me crazy

Likewise for Child2, with a peer of type Child2. The problem is, on the assignment of the peer property in the parent class. I can't construct a new Child class by calling new Child1() because then it wouldn't work for Child2. How can I do this? Is there a keyword that I can use that would refer to the child class? Something like new self()?

However, the res.view() doesn't work.
