• VMWare Headphone Issue

  I am running VMWare Workstation Version 7 on a Windows 7 partition on a Macbook Pro. I have built a virtual XP machine within vmware to run some old music programs. The sound from my virtual machines comes out of my macbook speakers but the volume is not controllable using my macbook volume controls, only by using the volume control on the XP machine. My problem is that i need to use headphones, and when i plug a headphone jack into my macbook, the sound from my vmware virtual machines still comes out of the macbook speakers. I am baffled.   I am running magento with litespeed. The problem I am facing is that ajax call is being made of which header is set as x-json, but lightspeed is setting another header of text/html content type I've checked that page with apache and everything is working fine.   Hi, Got two AD/DNS servers, and on the secondary I can't seem to lookup the external site www.iis.se (or any other hostname that their name servers control). The central firewall at this office allows any any outbound, tcp and udp. The DNS server has no local firewall nor antivirus. My windows client, located in the same subnet as the DNS server can do the lookup by asking the nameservers that are in control of www.iis.se. • Internet connection issue

  For some reason this laptop doesn't want to stay connected to the Internet... I have to restart the DHCP client service every time to fix the connection problem. Could someone tell me whats going on because I didn't have to usually do this? And I'm not sure if these problems are connected but the sound also disconnects itself and I have to enable it back, but everything that was using audio has to be restarted in order to hear it, even the browser? There are no external speakers and I didn't install any new software. My laptop is an XPS M1530, running Windows Vista.

  I am testing the following with Freeswitch and different devices (nokia n900, nokia e60, ekiga) and have similar results between them. On the Freeswitch server (1.0.4 in multi-tenant mode) I have several user profiles for a domain, e.g. 1000, 1001 for host.com The user are authenticated correctly and calls can be placede. When I place a call from a device registered as [email protected] to [email protected] it will show up at the other end (1002) as [email protected] I would expect this call to show up as [email protected]. The IP address is the one of from the Freeswitch server. Because of this, the calls are no correctly recognized by the address book on certain devices. Can the he domain FQDN of the callers domain/acount be used, instead of the IP address of the server in the SIP uri?

• Resolving a BSOD/CPU/GPU issue...

  Hello all, I'm getting a BSOD / system crash (sometimes the PC just quits without a BSOD). Hardware Specifications cpu: i7 920 2666MHz / 8 cores (not OCed afaik) mobo: Asus P6T SE ram: 2x Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 (64bit DDR3 667MHz) gfx: ATI Radeon HD 5970 1GB (XFX HD5970 BE) os: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (legit) All bios, firmware and drivers are all up to date (as of today). Symptoms Sometimes the PC runs smoothly, sometimes I get this BSOD. The BSOD always happens when I'm doing something related to graphics, such as viewing a video or playing a game. I get to know about the imminent BSOD ~10 seconds earlier; the PC starts freezing occasionally but increasing in frequency and length of lag (I noticed processor usage in creased from Process Monitor). I've tweaked BIOS settings occasionally but afaik, it was in vain. A day or so ago, I reset it to factory settings. BSOD contents The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000101 (0x0000000000000019, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff88001f35180, 0x0000000000000004). 15-12-2010 A fatal hardware error has occurred. • linux log memory hogging issue

  Hi, We have a VPS server (it's using Virtuozzo). On a few occasions now, our VPS memory was fully used up and no new connections could be made to the server on SSH, SMTP, or POP. The only thing that works is connecting to the web service. Luckily, plesk is running on the VPS and we have been able to reboot it through plesk (as well as see that the RAM is 100% used). I would like to find what process is causing this. I have a feeling it's MySQL, but don't really know. Is there some sort of logging I could implement that would help me find out what was the cause of this next time it happens? Thanks.

• Groups issue on Ubuntu

  Hello, I am member of couple of groups lets say Master, Student, Web. The problem is that by default whatever I do is first created under student group. I need to set it so it is created with Web group. Folder www/ where I need to write file is already mode 770. But because it picks up my student group it does not allow me to write to that folder. Is there any way to change the group that I create files under. If I execute groups it lists all groups so I am member of correct group I just cant write to the folder. Anyone?

  I have a FoxPro 2.6 (16-bit) application that I've installed on a Win2008 (32-bit) Terminal Server. I then created a Remote App from it. It works fine. The problem is that within this FoxPro application it calls out to a .Net application. I have the proper .Net Framework installed on the server (2.0) and I have run the code access security policy tool (caspol.exe). I made local printers accessible over the RDP. I installed the xp drivers for the Brother printer. So my question is, " Is there a way that I can print from my win7 machine remotely connected to a xp sp3 system"? Or is there no way that I can put the correct drivers on the xp machine to have it redirect to my laptop(win7)

• Regular issue with keys on temp tables

  We run a large forum with lots of reads and writes, particularly to the posts and topics tables which are both innodb. Last week I started doing 12 hourly backups with innobackupex because mysqldump just takes forever (7+ million rows in posts table.) It seems that something doesn't like these backups because I have a recurring problem every other day. The symptoms; The front page of the site starts throwing errors The logs start showing errors like Error: 126 - Incorrect key file for table '/tmp/mysql/#sql_4e87_14.MYI'; try to repair it The /tmp/ dir fills up and we start getting Error: 1030 - Got error 28 from storage engine in the logs. The only way to fix is to optimize table on each of the posts and topics tables. I'm trying all I can to stop MySQL using disks for temp tables, but I'd have more problems than this if it used all my memory also. • Windows 2008 Print Server issue

  I have a dedicated windows 2008 server I use as a file server and print server at my home office. Whenever I print documents from one of my clients, I see the document hit the queue on the server immediately (says its in "printing" status), but it takes FOREVER to print out (like over 5 minutes). But, printing the same document locally from the server takes 4 seconds. It's an HP 1006P laser printer. I am running 32-bit 2008 Server. Installed the Vista drivers ( updated to latest version ). Tried updating the drivers on the clients too and no dice. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

My config is as follows: service tftp { protocol = udp port = 69 socket_type = dgram wait = yes user = nobody server = /usr/sbin/in.tftpd server_args = -s /svr/tftp disable = no } the directory /svr/tftp permissions are 777: drwxrwxrwx 3 nobody nobody 4096 Nov 14 10:32 svr This thing should have full permissions as would anyone who wanted to write or read from that directory. I see nothing in the logs im really stumped on this. If the file is already in the directory I can read it all day long, I just cant make NEW files, can not put them, but I can do get's, I can only put to an existing file with permissions @777. Thanks

• PDF rendering issue os OSX

  I came across some very odd rendering when trying to view a PDF file that needed to print out. I was wondering anyone has come across a similar problem before or has any ideas as to what might be causing this. PDF when viewed on OSX 10.7.4 - Preview version 6.0. I've tried opening the file in Skim but that doesn't work either. PDF as it should be, and as Chrome renders it in browser, but not if I download it onto my machine. Illustrator complains about "an unknown imaging construct" when I open the file, but renders it fine nevertheless, Photoshop doesn't have any problems either.

  This worked in Leopard, although since Snowie came along … I have a Location setup with a DNS server to use [eg 10.0.0.17] , and a search string [eg sub.dom.ain.com] In the terminal: $ nslookup cake Server 10.0.0.17 Address: 10.0.0.17#53 Name: cake.sub.dom.ain.com Address: 10.0.0.38 So works like a charm. Although if I just the hostname cake in any other application within OSX - such as Safari/CoRD, they simply can't resolve the hostname. I have to instead use the FQDN cake.sub.dom.ain.com - why is this so? Why did this work in Leopard and is now broken? Would love a solution. Thanks

• LDAP authentication issue with Kerio Connect

  Hi, We have Kerio Connect (mail server) running on a Windows Server 2003 server on a domain. In the webmail client, users are able to change their domain password. This functionality used to work fine until a user tried to change their password a few days ago, when every password they'd try would result in the webmail client claiming their password was "invalid". I spoke to Kerio about this and they claim that this error is returned by the domain controller, which supports my initial investigations. The error that the DC is logging when an attempt is made to change the password is this: "80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C090334, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 52e, vece" The "data 52e" part indicates that this is an "invalid credentials" error. I don't see how this can be as I've tried (in the Kerio Connect configuration) various accounts that have privileges to modify accounts, including my own as I am a domain admin. I have ran 'dcdiag' (all tests) on the DC and it came back passing every single one of them. I've searched high and low for an answer to this and came up empty. • Firewall issue with multiple SIP PROXY / REGISTRAR servers

  Hi We have a pair of Internet-facing SIP PROXY/REGISTRAR servers (for resilienced and load-balancing). When a SIP phone registers, it will be handled by one of the REGISTRAR servers (round-robin DNS) - and since this registration is renewed, the firewall port/address translation is maintained. Therefore, when a call is to be sent back to the phone the INVITE message passes successfully through the firewall. However, it is likely that the phone may register with one of the two servers, but the INVITE may come from the other. In this situation, the call fails since there is no translation in place on the firewall. Is there a feature in the SIP protocol to facilitate this? Any other ideas? As our traffic grows, we will no doubt end-up with more than two servers - so the problem will escalate. Thanks, Mike

• Networking Mac and PC - Firewall Issue?

  Here's the scenario: Work network - I have a Mac and a PC - OS X is Snow Leopard - Windows 7 I am trying to connect to the PC from the Mac. IT ONLY works if I turn off the firewall in Windows. I tried to trace the port and connection it was using, it appears to be on port 445 via TCP. I really prefer not to leave this open, or is it OK? How can I only allow this connection while still leaving the firewall on?

• WS-AT Issue between WPS 6.2 and WAS 7.0

  Hi, I have a BPEL running on WPS 6.2 trying to call a web service on developed on RAD 7.5, deployed on RAD test environment. I have setup WS Transaction policy on both client and server. I get an error on WAS 7.0 saying Must Understand check failed for headers: {http:// schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/10/wscoor}CoordinationContext I tried to generate the same webservice on ibm wid 6.2 and deployed on EAR on WAS 7, it works perfect. Any thoughts ? Is there a SOAP runtime mismatch ? Help appreciated . -AK

• Apache2 Virtualhost practice config issue

  I am practicing virtualhost configuration. In my /var/www directory I have created 3 directories called test1, test2 and test3 each of which has a simple index.php script in it. I:E test1/index.php etc. In /etc/apache2/sites-available/test1 I have the following configuration: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost ServerName test1 DocumentRoot /var/www/test1 <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All </Directory> <Directory /var/www/test1/> Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride All Order allow,deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. LogLevel warn CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined </VirtualHost> All the other sites have a similar virtualHost definition. I have enabled the site(the symlink appears in sites-enabled) and I have restarted apache. However, when I visit localhost/test1, I get a 404 Error. My error log show the following message: [Wed Oct 23 06:22:52 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /var/www/test1/test1 I don't know why I get the double test1/test1 in the error logs. I'm trying to find the right virtualHost setup which will allow all 3 test websites to be served from their URLs I:E test1/index.php, test2/index.php and test3/index.php. Can anyone help me out, please?
