    I am working on a friends laptop. I get no power indicator light while plugged in to ac outlet. Will not power on with just the battery. Might this be a case of replacing the system board? I have never broken open a laptop so I am not sure what the best path to take might be. Thanks for any opinions.

  • Multiple network connections on a Windows 2008 domain controller (private network for NAS)

    I have a Windows 2008 server connecting to an iSCSI target on an OpenSolaris box (yay ZFS!). I'd like to create a private network between the 2 boxes that is totally separate of my Windows domain. What is the best way to configure the additional network adapter on the Windows machine so it doesn't think the new subnet is part of the Windows domain? I want to make sure Windows doesn't magically start spewing active directory communications over the private wire and that it doesn't start poisoning the DNS with IPs from the private network.

  • (Ubuntu - Lamp) phpmyadmin install error 404 not found

    Hi, I install apache, mysql, php and then phpmyadmin on ubuntu desktop 10.04 version I test apache: localhost with browser and its works. I test mysql with console and its works. I test phpmyadmin http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and get error 404 not found I see that solution for that brobem, copy /phpmyadmin/ to /www/, but I dont want to put in /www/ to my websites files (maybe I wrong or miss something-please tell me in this case). How this problem can be solved in the best way? Thanks

  • Transferring dmg files from a PC to an Apple

    Hi all, I have dmg files on my computer that I need to put on my friends new macbook. When I try to put the files on an external hard drive it says that they are too large to transfer (each file is about 8 gigs). Just trying to figure out the best way to do this transfer. We started doing it with an ethernet cable last night, and transferred about 8 gigs over the course of a couple of hours.

  • Why does my mail get marked as spam?

    I Have the server "afspraakmanager.be". It matches everything not to be a spam server.(it isn't by the way): it has reverse dns, spf,dkim,... . But hotmail marks it as spam.     Machine A, Windows Server 2003. Machine B, Ubuntu 9.04. Aim is to copy new and updated files as fast as possible from A to B. B can mount A either as CIFS or NFS (Services for Unix NFS server running on A). This is an absolutely time critical operation. What is the best way of achieving this? Note: benchmarked NFS vs CIFS and CIFS was faster and there was less variance in the speed (haven't tuned the NFS setup at all)
