• Execute build task in Hudson with root privilages

  I have a build script which executes apt-get and therefore requires root privileges. What is the best way to run this script in Hudson? Currently the only solution I have found that works is to add an entry to the sudoers file for the user hudson like so: hudson ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL However, although my build script now runs without error in Hudson, I am not entirely comfortable with this solution. Is there a better way?

• How can i set up email alerts for disk failures on a windows server 2012 box?

  I have a windows 2012 server with 3 storage spaces set up, each containing a mirrored pair of 2TB drives. What is the best way to set up alerting so that i receive an alert when a physical disk fails? Ideally i would like these alerts to be sent via email to a pre-defined address. • Is there a better way to get dd-wrt to ignore my ISP's 3rd DNS server?

  My ISP's DHCP server specifies 3 DNS servers that provide ads on mistyped domain names. I'm using a third party DNS provider that only has 2 DNS servers, but unless I put something in the third box dd-wrt fills it with the ISP's 3rd crappy DNS server and mistyped domain names go to their ad page. I've used an unused IP address on the LAN. Is this the best solution?

• AD group authentication to view wordpress posts?

  I'm trying to set up a wordpress site using active directory authentication. One question that has come up is the ability to limit category/post/blog reading to specific AD groups. I've never seen this done and I haven't been able to find any plugins that seem to promise this functionality. It would seem that the best option is to just give a bunch of users a role with the read_private_posts capability, but I'm not sure this will do the trick.

• Streaming audio from microphone to network

  I have the following problem: I want to stream the audio I record with one machine to another machine in the same network. It seems that vlc is the best shot at the moment. I was able to stream a music file via vlc but streaming the audio from the microphone the same doesn't work. EDIT If I enable play locally the captured sound is played. Even streaming to another instance of VLC on the same machine doesn't work.

  Hello, I try to configure a file-type item for .axd filetype. There I have troubles with the associated class for this file-type. E.g. I have tried it with "XML-document" (xml-informations are included at the files with .axd) but it does not work. The .axd file will not be opened with the associated application. A developer who has only sftp access needs to be able to restore from the backups and hence a solution such as rdiff-backup or duplicity wont work as she would need shell access to restore (afaik). So will it run without any problems or i need to upgrade the video cards or something too ? The computer is not that much old it has P4 bord and celeron processor with 128 graphics memory . And in properties it shows i can maximum use 1280 x 1024 resolution. I am noob hardware wise So need help on this stuff. Thanks

  I have port forwarded our front-facing IP to an internal HTTPS server. The browser does not connect. A wget command determines that the certificate is self-signed for the internal IP.
