You can just have user stories somehow the functionality of the program has to be documented. Do you end up with a specifications document with scrum? If you do do you end up assigning time to do this onto the task?
When we write a program which supports both unicode and multibytes,
we often use _T("some string") macro for strings.
But, does a character also need to wrap this macro?
Are L'A' and 'A' totally same?
Don't we need to use _T('A') for a character?
Is it possible to compile C++ program into some intermediate stage (similar to bytecode in java) where the output is platform independent and than later compile/link at runtime to run in native (platform dependent) code?
If answer is no, why?
I have a PHP file that I need it to detect it's directory it's in. In my case I want it to return C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\
I think that this is pretty straightforward but if there is something you don't understand just comment
Hi folks,
I have a little program allowing users to type-in some regular expressions. afterwards i like to check if this input is a valid regex or not.
I'm wondering if there is a build-in method in Java, but could not find such jet.
Can you give me some advice?
Best regards
Phil
Do you need to have good spatial sense to be a good programmer?
I have next to nothing of it (I think it has to do with the differing vision of my eyes).
I've already coded quite little things but wonder if this interferes with the ability to 'imagine' the assembly of the code in case of a more complex program?
Sorry for my english, I'm Austrian and not so used to write in English..
Thanks for your ansers..
Hi!
I'm learning C right now and so I'm fiddling about with pointers. Is there a way to determine the word width of the CPU in C because I'm writing a small program which prints it's own stack (Because I'm curious how it is structured), so that information would come in handy. Right now I'm using an int pointer, as an integer is 4 Bytes wide and I'm using a 32-bit Intel Atom CPU.
Thanks in advance, C gurus ;o)
How can view the execution line used by netbean v6.8 to execute my java application when I press the run program button (right pointing green arrow)? I'm looking for something like:
java -cp build/class Main
I'm trying to make the jump to java IDE developement from 15 years writing c and c++ with vi. I'm starting with netbean since it seems to have the best vi key bindings.
I have turned on warnings as errors and now i need to XML comment all of my public methods.
just to get my program compiling, i just want to put placeholders for now.
Is there anyway to automatically add XML comments to all of the public members in a class or a file.
I see ghost doc which gives you good autogenerated XML comments but it still looks like it only does one member at a time.
Hi,
in a C++ program some string reads info from file, and in some part contains a "\r" character. I need to remove it, afte the read, in order to avoid problems. I thought about comparing strings character to character, I thought that "\r" would take two chars, but not, it is just one. how would i use a conditional ? if char[4]==`\r' ???
Thanks
P.D. How would the problem be solved in C?
Hi,

I want to verify if the text log files created by my program being run at my customer's site have been tampered with. How do you suggest I go about doing this? I searched a bunch here and google but couldn't find my answer. Thanks!
I want to create a program that will parse text for key words and make these words a certain color. What type of control supports many different colors? Would I have to create my own, or override the OnPaint() of a basic control or something? (Id like to avoid making my own control from scratch)
Thanks
I'm looking for one just to get a general idea of how a standard C++ project should be properly setup.
(If that's possible... :-p)
Here are my requirements for this project:
module-based (has libraries/modules that compile into a main program module)
compiles cross-platform
I'd like to do this so that I can get a hold on the basics of how a good C++ project is setup, and so that I can test out Premake.
I have a PHP script on a webserver.
This file is invoked via the shell by another program but it could still be run by the webserver in response to an HTTP request.
How can the script determine the way it was invoked?
Hi
When debugging a java program in netbeans, I want the debugger to stop on the line that causes a NullPointerException so I can examine the variables there. I believe I have to use a condition on the breakpoint set at that line, but what is the syntax of the condition?
thanks for the help
I am calling a command-line program from my Perl script. When these programs crash, I am prompted with a messagebox asking me if I want to notify Microsoft. Since this is an automated system it would be desirable if I could suppress that message and continue with other things in my script. Is this possible?
I'm learning how to create an VB6 Active X EXE. (I need to add the ability for a number of VB6 apps to "phone home" to a server and I'd like centralize this but don't want to do it with a DLL because I'd like to only need Firewall permission for one program (the "phone home ActiveX EXE).
I've found a few tutorials but I'm looking for a downloadable project to "play around with".
How to get Eclipse CDT to treat shared_ptr as T * for syntax completion?
I'm using windows in this instance. I have 1.39 in the "Program Files" folder. I am about to try 1.37.
I am using the Galileo release of Eclipse. Also, I am only editing and browsing the source in Eclipse and building in VC++ Express. (but that is another story)
I'm new to managed c++ and I'm attempting to design a program for a presentation. I am attempting to have a class inherit from an ABC and I'm getting the Error C2504. The code in question is as follows:
ref class Item : Auction //Error C2504 here
{
//More code for the class Auction is defined in a different .h file.
Let me know if there are any other questions or if you need to see more of the code.
Thanks

I'm looking for a regex to search my python program to find all lines where foo, but not bar, is passed into a method as a keyword argument. I'm playing around with lookahead and lookbehind assertions, but not having much luck.
Any help?
Thanks
I love running as a standard user for its security pluses, my admin account is password protected.
The problem appears when I need to run a program that requires admin rights, is there a way to include the password somehow so I won't have to type it every time ? Without changing my current setup: admin password protected account and I log on to a limited standard user account.
I'm thinking of script or something like that ?
I can imagine that the 'server' can be a machine/host but can be also a program like ftp server, smtp server, etc..
The 'service' on the other hand refers mainly to applications/programms..
Why can then for example the Sql Server cannot be called as Sql Service? It has the same semanthics. Or the other way round: MS Azure service: why it isn't called Azure Server? :)
I have these line in my pro*C program. The function initAerage is defined in a C language and I am trying to call this function in a .pcc (pro C++) file.
I am getting an error
Error: initAverage(int i);was declared before with a different language
extern "C"
{
int initAverage(int i);
}
Please help
