• how to run javascript from c# code ?

  I have a webrequest that returns a html response which has form inside with hidden fields with some javascript that submits the form automatically on pageload ( if this was run in a browser). If I save this file as *.html and run this file in browser , the java script code automatically posts the form and the output is excel file. I want to be able to generate this file from a c# code which is not running in broswer. I tried mocking thr form post but its complicated and has various scenarios based on the original webrequest querystring. any pointers.... i know its not possible to probably run JS code that posts the form - from within c# code but still thought of chekcing if someone has done that.

• Ideal Java library for cleaning html, and escaping malformed fragments

  I've got some HTML files that need to be parsed and cleaned, and they occasionally have content with special characters like <, , ", etc. which have not been properly escaped. I have tried running the files through jTidy, but the best I can get it to do is just omit the content it sees as malformed html. Is there a different library that will just escape the malformed fragments instead of omitting them? If not, any recommendations on what library would be easiest to modify? Clarification: Sample input: <p> blah blah <M+1> blah </p> Desired output: <p> blah blah &lt;M+1&gt; blah </p>

  hello community, understanding http and headers i played around with telnet to send requests. to not type everything again and again and again i thought i'd write a small textfile with all the commands i need. my file is as simple as follows: GET /somefile.php HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost i then try to feed it to telnet with io-redirection: $ telnet localhost 80 < telnet.txt but all output i get is Trying ::1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. Connection closed by foreign host. what am i doing wrong?

• Tomcat not showing Spring Context initialization errors when running from Eclipse WTP

  Hi all, Im working with Eclipse Galileo (WTP), Spring 2.5.6-SEC01 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.28. When I run my application from Eclipse, I'm able to see Tomcat standard output and error from the console view. When there is a Spring initialization error (ex: malformed spring XML) I'm not able to see the error message or the stacktrace at the Console view. Anyone found before a problem like this? how you solve it? Thanks in advance, I'm getting mad :-) Edited: I'm seeing all Tomcat startup messages and my System.out.println and System.err.println messages in Eclipse Console. I also try to pass this two system properties to my Tomcat Server: -Djava.util.logging.manager="org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager" -Djava.util.logging.config.file="C:\apache-tomcat-5.5.28\conf\logging.properties"

• Rails: Internationalization of Javascript Strings?

  So, we have an existing Rails 2.3.5 app that does not support Internationalization at all. Now, I'm well familiar with Rails I8n stuff, but we have a LOT of output strings inside /javascripts/. I'm not a huge fan of this approach, but unfortunately it is too late to fix it now. How might we internationalize strings stored in JS files in a Rails app? Rails doesn't even serve the JS files... I'm thinking I could always have the Rails app serve up the JS files, but that seems pretty gross. Are there plugins to do this? Yikes.

• RijndaelManaged Padding when data matches block size

  If I use PKCS7 padding in RijndaelManaged with 16 bytes of data then I get 32 bytes of data output. It appears that for PKCS7 when the data size matches the block size it adds a whole extra block of data. If I use Zeros padding for 16 bytes of data I get out 16 bytes of data. So for Zeros padding if the data matches the block size then it doesn't pad. I have searched through the documentation and it says nothing about this difference in padding behavior. Can someone please point me to some kind of documentation which specifies what the padding behavior should be for the different padding modes when the data size matches the block size.

• Excel 2003 VSTO convert to PDF

  I have an excel workbook vsto solution that needs to generate a pdf copy of one of its sheets as output. I have a license for abcdpdf .net and tried outputting to html, then using abcpdf to convert the html to pdf, but the excel html markup tries to emulate excel with all 4 worksheets with horrible markup. It also messes up the colors (silver background across entire workbook). Any suggestions? Here is the code I'm currently using to generate the html file: FileInfo excelDoc = new FileInfo(Globals.ThisWorkbook.Path + @"\Document.html"); Globals.Sheet2.SaveAs(excelDoc.FullName, Excel.XlFileFormat.xlHtml, missing, missing, false, false, Excel.XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlNoChange, missing, missing, missing); If I hack away some of the html header tags manually, I can get abcdpf to accept it, but the formatting is a bit off and this solution seems sub optimal. • Porting Java app to Go - any advice?

  We want to rewrite kodingen.com backend with Go which currently is Java, running as daemon using jsvc. I have never touched any C in my life, am only experienced in Java so I don't know if this is something that I should even start. However, task is pretty simple read shell commands from mysql database queue and execute them in parallel save each shell output to the database that's it. So these simple requirements gives me hope that I can start using this wonderful language. What would you advise?

• plupload variable upload path?

  Hi all, I'm using plupload to upload files to my server (http://www.plupload.com/index.php), however I wanted to know if there was any way of making the upload path variable. Basically I need to select the upload path folder first, then choose the files using plupload and then upload to the initially selected folder. I've tried a few different ways but I can't seem to pass along the variable folder path to the upload.php file. I'm using the flash version of plupload.   So for my programming class we have had a project to create a virtual machine including a memory unit, cpu, Input, Output, Instruction Register, Program Counter, MAR, MDR and so on. Now we need to create a compiler using Java Code that will take a .exe file written in some txt editor and convert it to java byte code and run the code. The code we will be writing in the .exe file is machine code along the lines of: IN X IN Y ADD X STO Y OUT Y STOP DC X 0 DC Y 0 I am just a beginner and only have 2 days to write this and am very lost and have no idea where to start....Any Help will be much appreciated.   Hi, I've got a console app written that persists an object graph via Entity Framework 4.0. I loop through this to dump the execution times for each persistance. The first persistance is always the largest. Is this due to EF making the initial connection to the database and/or JIT'ing ? Here's a sample of the output: Persisted graph in **3318** millseconds. • Best practices retrieving XML/stream from HTTP in Android

  Hello everyone, what are the best practices parsing XML from an HTTP resource in Android? I've been using HttpURLConnection to retrieve an InputStream, wrapping it with a BufferedInputStream, and then using SAX to parse the buffered stream. For the most part it works, though I do receive error reports of SocketTimeoutException: The operation timed out or general parsing error. I believe it's due to the InputStream. Would using HttpClient instead of HttpURLConnection help? If yes, why? Should the stream be output to a file, having the file parsed instead of the stream? Any input or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

  I have been suggested to use should:rise in my test case to test for errors that a method might raise. For some reason it does not work as axpected, so I want to verify that I'm doing it right. Here is the code in the test case: self should: [aMyClass compareTo: 'This is a string'] raise: 'invalid input'. My compareTo/1 method looks like this: (aMyClass isKindOf: MyClass) ifFalse: [self error: 'invalid input'.]. The test runner output is that there is "1 errors". Thank you.
