    I am using a float positioning system in my game. IE float x,y,z now I want to get the location of the mouse, then to fire an arrow to it. X0 = the players X location X1 = the mouse X location Y0 = the players Y location Y1 = the mouse Y location I want to make a method that the parameters are Degrees and it sets my Yspeed and my Xspeed accordingly to get to the mouse xy starting at player xy How do would I accomplish this?

    This tutorial on mobileorchard.com uses 2 classes (or 2 sets of .h and .m) to implement core location. Can I just use everything there in my existing class? How would I do that? Also, is the - (id) init { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { self.locationManager = [[[CLLocationManager alloc] init] autorelease]; self.locationManager.delegate = self; // send loc updates to myself } return self; } method the same as the usual initWithNib?   • File location for config file to app installed to local user location

    I have a WinForm app that has inside of the app's config file locations to find files for the app to use as it runs. However, the app will be installed locally for each user so it can't be hard coded. For Vista and Windows 7 the installer puts the app in c:\users\\Documents area. Under Windows XP it puts it in a different location. How can I write the config file to use some sort of placeholder to be filled in at runtime with the specific user's information? I am just using the default areas that Windows wants to install a per-user install but need the config file to be flexible at runtime for the specific user.

The server takes all the submitted data, generates file and sends it back to the requested user. So I want to show a progress bar to the user till the file comes to the him. Is there any way to do this ? I am using java, jquery and javascript in my application.

    I am building a taxi dispatching app first: I need the passenger app to show the nearest taxis, now I know how to do that in code but in my way I have to go through all the taxis locations(in database on server) and calculate the distance from the passenger location and get the lowest ones - I don't want to do this because there will be a lot of taxis and going through all of them and making some math is kind of pain on the server- is there a way to get the nearest ones without going through all of them? second: what the best database to use - first, should it be sql or non-sql - I need a very robust database, because there will be a lot of updates (I mean the passengers locations added then deleted when arriving to destination && the taxis location changes frequently) finally: I will use RubyOnRails to do the server side and json as data transfer format, do you have a recommendation to me on something better?     Hi, on a web page i am trying to redirect the browser to another page on the same site. the code is very simple for that: window.location = "/path1/path2" on safari - both windows as well as mac - a message box containing only the text "http://domain.com" comes up. I have tried different ways of specifying this: location.href, windows.assign(...) ... and the all have the same behavior. Did any of you see this? and do you have a solution for this? Thanks.

    Hi Webmasters. I have a simple form which is inside IFRAME. When user click on SUBMIT, it redirects to a specific page on my server. The function I use for the redirect is header ('Location: mypage2.html'); exit (); But I want the new page to open in _top location, not inside the same IFRAME that I use.   • Make the Firefox Awesome Bar Semi-Transparent Like Google Chrome

    Would you like to make the Firefox Awesome Bar drop-down menu semi-transparent like in Google Chrome?  Here’s a quick trick that can make your Firefox Awesome Bar a bit more awesome. When you type an address or search query into the address bar in Google Chrome, the drop-down list of history and search suggestions that appears is slightly transparent.  Nothing extreme, but it adds a nice touch. Firefox’s Awesome bar, on the other hand, is fully opaque by default. We can change that with a simple change.  Exit Firefox, then open your Firefox profile folder by entering the following in the address bar in Explorer or in the Run command: %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ Open the default folder, and then open the Chrome folder in it. Now, open the userChrome.css file in an editor such as Notepad.  If you do not have a userChrome.css file, open the userChrome-example.css file instead. Now, add the following to the end of the file: #PopupAutoCompleteRichResult[type="autocomplete-richlistbox"]{    opacity: 0.9 !important;} You can change the opacity value, but 0.9 seemed the closest to Chrome’s transparency while keeping the text readable. Save the file as userChrome.css in that same folder.  If you’re editing with Notepad, make sure to select to save as All Files so the file won’t be saved with a .txt extension. Open Firefox, and now your Awesome Bar’s drop-down list will be transparent.  Actually, it may look even more awesome than Google Chrome’s address bar! Conclusion With this simple trick, you can make your Firefox Awesome bar a bit more awesome.  With tweaks like this, it’s no wonder Firefox is still so popular.   • GSM Cell Towers Location & Triangulation Algorithm (Similar to OpenCellID / Skyhook / Google's MyLocation)

    Hi all, assuming I have a Fingerprint DB of Cell towers. The data (including Long. & Lat. CellID, signal strength, etc) is achieved by 'wardriving', similar to OpenCellID.org. I would like to be able to get the location of the client mobile phone without GPS (similar to OpenCellID / Skyhook Wireless/ Google's 'MyLocation'), which sends me info on the Cell towers it "sees" at the moment: the Cell tower connected to, and another 6 neighboring cell towers (assuming GSM). I have read and Googled it for a long time and came across several effective theories, such as using SQL 2008 Spatial capabilities, or using an euclidean algorithm, or Markov Model. However, I am lacking a practical solution, preferably in C# or using SQL 2008 :) The location calculation will be done on the server and not on the client mobile phone. the phone's single job is to send via HTTP/GPRS, the tower it's connected to and other neighboring cell towers. Any input is appreciated, I have read so much and so far haven't really advanced much. Thanx

    Can someone please advise me on how my Ajax div can get an address bar variable. The usual way just doesn't work. My address bar currently looks like this: http://localhost/social3/browse/?locationName=Cambridge Usually, I would use a little php and do this: $searchResult = $_POST['locationName']; echo $searchResult; But because I'm in an Ajax div, I can't seem to get to the variable. Do I need to add some JavaScript wizardry to my Ajax coding?
