  Any one know how to hack the routing table (on a mac) to defeat the forcing of VPN routing for every thing over a cisco VPN? pretty much what I want to do is have only 10.121.* and 10.122.* addresses over the VPN and everything else straight to the internet.

  I have a server that I cannot access. At first I thought it was just some temporary failure with the server, but checking from other IP addresses reveals that it is working just fine. It's only my IP address that's failing. So here is what I've tried: nslookup - resolves correctly ping - 100% packet loss using the IP address or domain traceroute - first few hops work, but from about 6 and on, I just get stars Edit: I am using OpenDNS for DNS resolution, and as mentioned above, the problem is not DNS resolution anyway.

• Cisco 1841 and routing /29 address

  Could someone please explain in general terms how I'd configure a Cisco 1841 (2x ethernet ports) to route a public /29 address block (6 hosts) to my internal network. I wish to give the Cisco router one public IP and then several of my internal Windows servers will receive the other public IP addresses. Other hosts behind the router will access Internet via NAT. I'm a bit confused as I've only ever setup routers/firewalls that had a single public IP address with NAT and port forwarding to internal servers.

• Any consumer routers with Outgoing VPN support?

  When I'm working at home, I need to be able to connect to three different outgoing VPNs, two of which happen to use the same internal IP addressing schemes (192.168.0.*). I also need a static address for my VirtualBox VM so I can connect to my testing web server. Are there any routers which will allow me to connect to multiple outgoing VPNs and assign different internal IP addresses through NAT? Is such a thing even possible, or are there alternate solutions available? Thanks!

• Switches with large MAC address table?

  Does anyone know which switches have a large MAC address table ? I see most switches having only 8K, but we need to store way, way more than that (hundreds of K). I know this may seem odd, but trust me, there's no other way we can make our setup work. The only thing we seem to be able to do is install Juniper routers that store up to 1M addresses, but that will get quite costly and we'd rather avoid doing that.

  Does anyone know how to configure more addresses for remote access to Outlook on our SBS 2008? Currently you can go to either 'https://remote.site.co.uk/remote' to acces the remote web workspace or 'https://remote.site.co.uk/owa' to go straight to remote exchange access. I would like to set it up so that by going to 'https://remote.site.co.uk/exchange' it takes you to same place that '/owa' would. Does anybody know if this is possible, and if so how? Many thanks

• Can I connect two routers to one switch?

  I want to connect two routers to a switch which will then be connected to a modem. Now as far as I know a switch does not do network translation and this won't work with one IP address. So I bought two addresses at my ISP. Attached is a simple schematic that explains what I want to do. Is there any additional configuration needed on either of the routers (Linksys WRT54GL) to make this work or will it "Just Work"?

  I need to know if it's possible on an exchange server to filter outgoing mail and override the from address in certain cases. We have to set up many exhange users who will only be able to access exchange through the outlook web access. All their outgoing e-mails when received from recipients outside our company should appear to be sent from a single generic address and not from the users' addresses.   I understand the 32 bit Vista limit in addressing only 4Gb of memory space but I have a very specific question: I have 3Gb installed on a Vista 32 bit system with a 512Mb video card, MSI X-58 board, Intel i7, 920 CPU. System Information currently shows: Installed Memory: 3.00Gb Available Physical Memory: 1.73 Gb My understanding is that the 512Mb video card occupies memory addresses between 4.0Gb and 3.5Gb and so does not subtract from the 3.0Gb of physical memory (correct my understanding if wrong) My Question: If I install another 1Gb of RAM, will my Available Memory increase to 2.73Gb?   If I see an email returned due to a hard bounce, after how many days is it acceptable to resend to that email address. It is possible for emails to be reactivated or for temporary outages, so it doesn't make sense to keep an email in my hard bounce email list forever. I've already seen cases where I receive emails from addresses that were put in my hard bounce email list months ago. Any recommendations? Are there specific recommendations from ISPs?

Both of them, however, are on the same network of my University, but on different LANs/VLANs (i hope i used the right word here).   Hi All, I have a 6509 with ~1000 user machines in different vlans, I want to allow 10 server machines to send as much as they can/want but to limit all client machines from all subnets to have a sedning rate limit of 1mbps with no receiving limitation. It is worth noting that all my ip addresses are assigned using a DCHP server and there are 1000 of them so I can not write ACLs for every address seperately. • How can I block access to public server IP for OpenSSH in Debian?

  I got a Debian server with a public and a private IP in a DMZ. I need to be able to connect to it through SSH on our private side, and then block all access to the public address. Both /etc/hosts.deny and sshd_config seems to only let one block incoming IP addresses. What I really want is to disable SSH connections for the public IP. I've been trying iptables, but I haven't had luck with that neither. Any help is appreciated.
