• Printer on different network(IP range), can i print to it?

  Heres my situation, client PC is on the same network as the printer to start with: 192.168.1.X Thats fine and printing is fine, however our clients are required to connect to the VPN using the installed cisco client - this creates a virtual adapter and now the PC is connected to a 10.0.0.X IP range and can no longer see the printer, thus my problem! If I do an IPCONFIG/ALL the PC still has the 192.168.1.X address but it I can't ping anything on it. Is it possible to use both IP ranges at the same time?

• Error while deploying a web application in OSGI container using pax web

  Hello I am trying to deploy a web application in a Felix container. I have all the required configuration done with my web app like the setting up of the manifest headers: Webapp-Context: Bundle-ClassPath: Bundle-Activator: Import-Package: Bundle-SymbolicName: etc The Pax bundles that I have dropped in the same container are: pax-web-service-0.6.0.jar pax-web-jsp-0.7.1.jar pax-web-extender-war-0.7.1.jar pax-logging-service-1.5.0.jar pax-logging-api-1.5.0.jar Though it had been written in the pax web site that pax-web-service is included in pax-war-extender, it seems without pax-web-service bundle, all other bundles become handicapped. I had removed the other pax bundles like pax-web-extender-whiteboard-0.7.1.jar pax-web-jetty-0.7.1.jar, as I have not seen any usefulness of those. The pax-web-jetty-0.7.1.jar even does not get start up. it has dependencies which it could not be able to resolve from any one of the bundle provided by PAX. My browser is displaying: HTTP ERROR 403 Problem accessing /adminmodule/. • Java CORBA Client Disconnects Immediately

The application narrows and logs on just fine, but as soon as an event is sent to the client, it breaks with the error below. • PPTP server stuck at "GRE: Bad checksum from pppd"

  I am a network engineer having quite limited experience with Ubuntu. I have been following up these online instructions to set up a pptp server but without much luck to get it to work. My server is a vm running an Apple Xserve behind a Cisco firewall. I made sure tcp 1723 and GRE are opened for the box.   I'm trying to get a Curl Response from an outside server, however I noticed I cant neither PING the server in question nor connect to it. • monitoring a /21 for potential bad guys with snort and port mirroring

  Hi all, I want/need to start monitoring our network a bit better. Its an odd network in that it comprises 2 /22 public IPs and a slew of private admin IPs. I do have one point in the network where it all comes together and I can turn on port mirroring on the catalyst. From that port, I'd like to turn up a box running various utilities. Snort is high on my list but it'd be nice to also get some networking statistics with something like Netflow. So, what are peoeple's thoughts. I can turn up a box needed for this with a bit of ease. We have the hardware available. What should I run? I'd love to know what kind of nasty things are potentially going on but I'd also like to see statistics on what people are doing on the network so I can better tweak our systems to handle it better and improve performance. I'm open so please, give me some ideas to go along with what I've got.

  I'm new to networking and was looking for some assistance. First off I'm using packet tracer to diagram my scenario as I will be receiving my equipment next week to deploy. Hardware to be used: 2 catalyst 3560 switches all connect to a sonic wall router I have two companies that work in the same office space. I need to keep these companies separate on their own vlan. They will however need to share the phone system. (Packet tracer file uploaded to give those who have the time to see what I put together.) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/86234623/network%20build.pkt Here is my current test scenario: on switch 0 I have: company A on vlan 2 computers 172.16.1.100 and 101 255.255.0.0 FA0/10 FA0/11 company B on vlan 3 computers 172.16.2.102, 255.255.0.0 FA0/12 PBX on a trunk port 172.16.0.5, 255.255.0.0 FA0/5 trunk port on FA0/1 to connect the switches on switch 1 I have: company A on vlan 2 computers 172.16.1.102, 255.255.0.0 company B on vlan 3 computers 172.16.2.100 and 101, 255.255.0.0 trunk port on FA0/1 to connect the switches I can ping the respective computers on the same vlan but cant ping company A to B which is what I want. However neither company can talk (ping) the PBX. • Computer randomly freezes when playing games

  My computer just randomly freezes when playing certain games. It has happened to me in Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Call of Duty 4, and Blacklight: Retribution. It has not happened to me with other games like Tribes: Ascend yet, which leads me to believe it is a software-side issue related to maybe DirectX or PhysX? Also, temperatures seem stable. I used RivaTuner combined with MSI Afterburner, and at the time of freezing with BF:BC2, it gives: 62C, 67% GPU usage and 78.8FPS. During the session the max I have seen was 65C and 97% GPU usage. On Blacklight: Retribution, I've heard other people complain about the problem too. This is why it is such a mystery to me, is this actually a driver problem, or more a game problem? I've been able to play these games for long until I re-installed Windows 7 (because it was growing too full and slow). Before I had a 32bit Ultimate version, and now 64bit. • New Computer freezing up at random

  Since I built my system about 4 weeks ago I'v been getting random freezes, Sometimes it can happen directly after startup and sometimes it wont freeze up for 3-4 days of 24/7 running. It seems to be happening under all stress loads but mainly when the CPU is under 10% load. It doesn't give me a BSOD or anything, it simply just freezes and repeats the last sound before the freeze until I shut it down by the power button. I'v re-seated everything in the system except the CPU, Cleaned the RAM sockets and gold fittings. None of the components have been clocked above their factory settings as of yet, don't want to overclock them until I sort out these freezes. Temps are all well under the rated max temps, the highest the temps have been are below CPU: Low load: 16-21°C Full Load (100%) 40-43°C *(From HWMonitor by CPUID) GPU 1: Low Load: 25-30°C Full Load (100%): 45-50°C GPU 2: Low Load: 23-27°C Full Load (100%): 45-50°C *(GPU Temps from Catalyst Control Center) General Case temps Rear: 18-20°C Mid: 20-21°C Front (HDD/SSD Bays): 14-19°C (Case temps may be a little off as it's from the Kaze master pro fan controller) I have Un-installed EVERY driver for Motherboard, GPU & Soundcard and Re-installed twice. Windows is all up to date. • Display stretches 4:3 ratios; Adds scrolling to other ratios

  I have a dual monitor setup. Normally, they both display at 1680x1050. They have been setup this way for about a year. I'm using Windows XP Professional 2003 x64 SP2. Today, out of nowhere, one of the monitors kicked back to a lower resolution. I was not playing with any configuration at the time.. in fact all I had done was close a window (maybe a browser). But the thing is that the resolution is still preserved partially by the fact that the screen will scroll when you move the mouse. So it's like looking through a 1024x768 window into a 1680x1050 world. The monitor itself does not appear to be damaged, because I also have it connected to my netbook (via KVM) and higher resolutions work fine. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers to no avail. System restore doesn't help either. I'm unsure of the exact ATI card I'm using.. Device Manager lists it as "Radeon X300/X550/X1050". There is no Catalyst Control Center software installed. I tried to install it, but there doesn't seem to be a way to install it by itself ... it forces you to install another driver, which breaks both of my displays, forcing me to go into safe mode and run system restore again. Any ideas? Thanks EDIT: After playing around more, I discovered that the "scrolling" behavior is only present for aspect ratios that are not 4:3. For 4:3 ratios, it just stretches out to fit the wide screen. My monitor's native ratio is 16:9 .. what could be causing it to think it needs to scroll?

• Blender refuses to start

  I'm trying to run Blender under Linux, but I'm unable to do that, whenever I try I get some errors. I'm using Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4.11.1. • ASUS EAH5450 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD5450 - 1 GB DDR3) on Windows 2003? Anybody got it to work?

  Hi all! I've just bought an ASUS EAH5450 Graphics Card (ATI Radeon HD5450, 1 GB DDR3) for my main system, but I haven't been able to make it work under Windows 2003 (my OS in that system). When I plugged the card, I got a couple of "installing drivers" prompt for things such as "ATI High Definition Audio Device" that got themselves sorted out of the Internet, and then a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". The CD that came with the card installs something called "ATI Catalyst Install Manager" and .net 2.0, but no drivers. I've downloaded the latest (WinXP 32bits) drivers from ATI, and the experience is the same: I don't get any drivers installed. My Motherboard is an ASUS A8N-SLI with nVidia nForce 4 chipset (for an Athlon 64X2, somewhat old), but my previous card was an ATi Radeon X700, so it's been working with ATI cards before. On POST, during boot I see a "Display Card" Device (Vendor ID 1002-68F9-0300) and a "Multimedia Device" (1002-AA68-0403), and when viewing the properties of the "Standard VGA", they match the device ID. Any hints? I'd really hate having to get rid of the card, and I'm sure it's not that strange what I'm trying to do...

• Getting 2560x1600 out of an ATI Radeon HD 4670 on Windows 7

  Greetings, I've got a Dell Studio XPS 1640 laptop (with an ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card) running Windows 7, and just bought a Dell 3007HPC 30-inch monitor for it. I'm trying to figure out how to get the full 2560x1600 experience out of this setup. Here's what I've done so far: Plug in using an HDMI cable and an HDMI--D-DVI converter on the monitor side. Open up Screen Resolution. Maximum supported setting is 1920x1080. Tried that (several times) - sometimes it doesn't work at all (blank screen); other times, it only shows the first 1280x800 pixels on the bigger screen. Tried using the Catalyst control center - played with various settings there, couldn't get the screen to show anything interesting. Tried using PowerStrip to set a custom resolution, again, no luck. Spoke to a Dell Preferred Custom Support guy for about an hour before giving up. He remote-accessed my computer, and told me that (1) The maximum supported resolution for XPS 1640 is 1920x1080, and (2) 'it seems to be working from where he sees it, must be a connection issue'. None of this has helped. Does anybody have ideas? Should I be using a different cable set up? Am I using Powerstrip wrong?

• Silent install FirePro v4900 Driver on Windows Embedded 7 Standard

  I'm trying to install the Drivers for a FirePro v4900 on a Windows Embedded 7 Standard 64bit OS. I want the system to be as small as possible, so i would rather not install the whole catalyst control center, but only the necessary drivers. Because the installation should be accomplished absolutely unattended, the installation process of the FirePro-Driver should also be done without any user interaction. I see two possible solutions for the Problem: Install only the Drivers: Is it possible to solely install the necessary drivers? How would i achieve that? This solution would be the preferred one, because of the smaller footprint. Silent custom install the provided "FirePro_8.911.3.3_VistaWin7_X32X64_135673.exe" (found at ATI FirePro™ Driver). Is there a way, to do that? Thank you in advance for your support! Update: I managed to accomplish a silent installation. I extracted the contents of the above mention installer-file and ran \$_OUTDIR\Bin64\Setup.exe -Install. (There are some other Parameters, just run Setup.exe /?). But i couldn't achieve to just install the drivers without the Cataclyst Control Center, and it seams the Control Center has some unfulfilled dependencies and so it crashes...

• Use Network-Manager to Connect to a wifi Access Point on the command-line

  I'd like to connect to a wireless access point from the command-line. ideally, I'd only need the name of the AP. But the hardware-address would work as well. I know I can use nmcli to connect to a managed network connection, but in my case, the access point may not be configured for Network-Manager yet (See the difference between the output of nm-tool and nmcli con). • Windows XP over two monitors, but one of them switches off at boot... how to fix? How to switch bac

  When booting into XP (x64, Athlon II X2 245, 4GB RAM), my main monitor (got two 19" TFTs hooked up, two gfx cards, a 4650 (1GB, the primary monitor's on this) and a 4350 (512MB)) switches off. Logging in blind (cursor down key, typing password) gets me one screen, the secondary. Booted correctly until about two days ago. No clue what's the cause, last change was (if I don't overlook something) installing the ATI 9-12 hotfix. And booting into Windows 7, after returning from 7, it was like this. For some weird reason, I cannot start Catalyst Control Center (I right-click desktop, choose the CCC entry, the pointer changes to hourglass for a half-second... and nothing. Likewise with "Properties"... I think, as all windows open on the primary (off) screen, and no entry appears in the task bar for Properties) Completely stumped. Windows 7, same setup, works w/o a hitch. The primary monitor appears to run in some unknown, but pretty low, resolution, as the mouse pointer only moves onto it at about half-height. But, w/o CCC or display properties, I cannot check. And, obviously, not change anything. Hope this was not too long-winded. And I'm sure I still forgot essential stuff. :P

• Constant crashes in windows 7 64bit when playing games

  I've tried everything I can possibly think of in trying to fix this problem and I'm totally out of ideas, so any help would be appreciated: The problem: whenever I fire up a game, it works for a short while with no problems and then it would crash. Either its a hard crash, forcing me to reboot, or windows would report that the display driver has stopped working and recovered. Here is a list of things I've already tried: Drivers - tried the latest drivers (catalyst 9.12) as well as the stock drivers that came with the video card. Also have the latest BIOS/chipset Memtest - Ran Memtest86+ overnight, had no problems, the windows diagnostic tool also does not find any problems. Overheating - Video card/cpu temperatures are well below peak (42 and 31 Celsius receptively) PSU Voltage - CPUID shows that the voltage levels are all above what they should be. The PSU itself is only roughly 16 months old and is a good model. HDD - No errors when checked GPU - Brand new (replaced previous card since I thought it was the problem, apparently not) Overclocking - Everything is at stock levels, memory voltage is set to manufacturer's standard Specs: Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 ghz OS: Windows 7 home premium 64 bit Memory: Mushkin Enhanced 4GB DDR2 GPU: Sapphire HD 5850 1GB PSU: SeaSonic M12 600W ATX12V DirectX: DX11 Event Viewer after a crash always has these logged: A fatal hardware error has occurred. • AMD switchable graphics are not working OR I don't know how to make them work

  I don't know if this is the right place for this question, but I'll give it a shot. I have a Dell Inspiron 17R 5721. It's supposed to be using switchable graphics. It has an Intel HD 4000 and a Radeon HD 8730M and I'm using windows 8. My problem is this, I Installed the drivers that dell gives me but I don't see the AMD graphics card ANYWHERE ( I do see it in device manager but not anywhere else to select and play a game using AMD). I installed the latest drivers from AMD and same thing, I can't run a game with AMD graphics card. I change the applications preferences in the Catalyst control center but even after that, games don't give me the option to select the AMD card, they list only the Intel HD 4000. Can someone tell me what I have to do to make this work? ------------------- After looking around and messing with stuff. I think.... I THINK that you don't really get the option to select a graphics card. Switchable graphics is all about switching automatically depending on application's needs. Cause when I uninstalled AMD's drivers or actually (screwed up lol) games were playing much worse. When I re-installed them, games went back to being good looking. So even if a game sees only the Intel HD 4000 graphics card windows or AMD's drivers will switch to the AMD Readeon graphics card automatically. I hope someone can verify this. Cause seriously I don't think you get to play scyrim with High graphics settings or even ultra with the Intel HD Graphics card. -------------------

EDIT 2: After a long break from this problem, I've just run a few tests again and found out that, although my macbuntu still fails to connect to my home wi-fi network, it works just fine at my university... Does that help in anyway? My home network is managed by a dual-band (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) 802.11n cisco e4200 wi-fi router.
