• C# Problem with keyboard language...

  Hello you all! I just made an application which purpose is to find an x result using the rule of three. It runs fine and everything but there is a small problem. I am using WinXP Europpean Spanish version. As we all know, in many europpean countries the decimal dot is changed by a " , " comma. When I use my application, it turns out that when I press the dot key on my keyboard´s number pad, my application doesnt take it as a normal decimal dot and it ignores it... so I need to manually press the comma key so it can give me the right answer. How can I solve this problem?

  I's like to do a join between 2 tables on a specific ID. At the moment, I have this DQL: $q = Doctrine_Query::create() ->select('e.*, i.itemName, i.itemtypeId') ->from('Model_EventItem e') ->leftJoin('Model_Item i ON e.itemId = i.itemId') ->where('e.eventitemId = ?', $event->eventId) ->orderBy('i.itemName ASC'); The result is empty, although my eventId has a value ... Can you help me please? I there somewhere a tutorial on DQL-joins? I don't get it right with the help of the Doctrine documentation. Thanks!   i have this controller(visits.php) that use 3 models to build page, then it pass 4 vars to a view. this view contain a form that submit to another page (add_user.php) my question is how can i send the user back to visits.php in case the for_validation is false ? do i have to reload visits.php allover again ?-waste of resourss- or i should just send him back in history with js or php header for example ? can u plz show me an example of how u best handle false result of form_validation ? Note that when i user header('Location: ' . $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']); i couldnt echo validation_error() :( thanks for help

• AJAX calls from multiple browser tabs at the same time:

  When an user tries to send AJAX requests simultaneously from multiple browser tabs, the earlier requests get completed and the page loads but the other AJAX calls are preempted. AS a result of which the response is empty for the other calls. Only one call survives. In my application using struts 2.0, JSP and javascript and the prototype framework, i found that the server response is empty in the cases mentioned above though the data gets updated in teh database with the request parameters. The onSucess event handler for Ajax.request gets called but the the response is empty. Can you please help? Thanks

• javac - differences between classpath and sourcepath options

  Hi, I read the Sun documentation and a lot of Q/A on SO but I'm still a little bit confuse regarding the differences between the javac options -cp and -sourcepath. Let say I have this directory structure: c:\Java\project1\src (where the .java source files are) c:\Java\project1\bin (where the .class will be or are already) The class source MainClass.java is in a package "com.mypackage" and the directory structure is ok in src. I'm in the project1 directory. I run c:\Java\Project1\javac -d bin -sourcepath src src/com/mypackage/MainClass.java or c:\Java\Project1\javac -d bin -classpath src src/com/mypackage/MainClass.java and I obtain the same result. In verbose mode, the search path for source files is src in both cases. If anybody could help me figure out the specifics of these options, it would be great. Thank you.

Basically, abuse SELECT to turn it into a data definition statement. The result could have a single column or multiple columns. I'm most interested in a DBMS neutral answer, but others (e.g. based on UNPIVOT) are welcome. There's no technique application behind this question; it's more theoretical than practical.

Web layout request next string: "Ivanov a" or "A Ivanov" But i suggest for user choose you pattetn for query. That's why the last operand is returned, not the result of a recursion call.   hi i need to select only the first row from a query that joins tables A and B, on table B exist multiple records with same name. there are not identifiers in any of the two tables. i cannt change the scheme either because i do not own the DB TABLE A NAME TABLE B NAME DATA1 DATA2 Select Distinct A.NAME,B.DATA1,B.DATA2 From A Inner Join B on A.NAME = B.NAME this gives me NAME DATA1 DATA2 sameName 1 2 sameName 1 3 otherName 5 7 otherName 8 9 but i need to retrieve only one row per name NAME DATA1 DATA2 sameName 1 2 otherName 5 7 i was able to do this by adding the result into a temp table with a identity column and the select the Min Id per name. the problem here is that i require to do this in one single statement. this is a DB2 database thanks

• Committing file deletions to svn repository whilst ignoring some other local mods

  I have svn repository where I have scheduled some files and folders to be moved in the repository with svn mv. I also have some files that are peers of the files to be moved that have local modifications of which I only want a subset of those files to be committed along with the moves. e.g. the output of svn st would look like: D foo/bar D foo/bar/a.txt D foo/bar/b.txt M foo/exclude.txt M foo/include.txt A foo/whiz/bar A + foo/whiz/bar/c.txt A + foo/whiz/bar/d.txt To commit to the moves to the repository, I would need to perform the commit on foo but that would also commit the modifications to foo/exclude.txt and foo/include.txt. How would I commit only the deletions/additions as a result of the move plus the mods to foo/include.txt whilst excluding foo/exclude.txt? I have a feeling the answer lies with the --depth argument to svn ci but it's not clear to me how it will operate.

• Postgres pg_dump dumps database in a different order every time

  Hello, I am writing a PHP script (which also uses linux bash commands) which will run through test cases by doing the following: I am using a PostgreSQL database (8.4.2)... 1.) Create a DB 2.) Modify the DB 3.) Store a database dump of the DB (pg_dump) 4.) Do regression testing by doing steps 1.) and 2.), and then take another database dump and compare it (diff) with the original database dump from step number 3.) However, I am finding that pg_dump will not always dump the database in the same way. It will dump things in a different order every time. Therefore, when I do a diff on the two database dumps, the comparison will result in the two files being different, when they are actually the same, just in a different order. Is there a different way I can go about doing the pg_dump? Thanks!

What I want is run cucumber features and this translate to cucumber features --format pretty I tried to do this editing the config/cucumber.yml file (on a rails project). Edited the line: default: <%= std_opts % features resulting on: default: <%= std_opts % --format pretty features But it make some erros happen: Using the default profile... All but one formatter must use --out, only one can print to each stream (or STDOUT) (RuntimeError) What I can do to make this option "--format pretty" default? Also, is there any other good option to put as default to make result more clear? Thank you.

  I've looked at other questions on Stack Overflow related to this question, but none of them seemed to answer this question clearly. We have a system Stored Procedure called sp_who2 which returns a result set of information for all running processes on the server. I want to filter the data returned by the stored procedure; conceptually, I might do it like so: SELECT * FROM sp_who2 WHERE login='bmccormack' That method, though, doesn't work. What are good practices for achieving the goal of querying the returned data of a stored procedure, preferably without having to look of the code of the original stored procedure and modify it.

  I'm using the goo.gl API as described here. It's easy to use and it works with or without authantication (I'm using OAuth). So, if I provide the OAuth token / secret, the shortened URL is added to the users history. My problem is, that I would like to show to the user that the shortened URL was added to his goo.gl history. The respone you get from the shortening request, however, is always the same, whether you use authorization or not: { "kind": "urlshortener#url", "id": "http://goo.gl/fbsS", "longUrl": "http://www.google.com/" } So, does anyone know a way to find out, if the shortened URL was successfully added to the user's history? Is there a parameter you can add to the request URL that leads to a more detailed result string?

• Java2D: Fill a convex rounded polygon (QuadCurves)

  Hi, If I have a QuadCurve like this (+ = node): + + \ ./ +--?? And I fill it in Java 2D the result is something like this: (x = colored) +xxxxxxxxx+ \xxxxxx./ +--?? But I want to color the other side: + + x\ ./x xxx +--??xx xxxxxxxxxxx This succeeds by drawing a rectangle around the curve in the color I want to color the other side and then fill the curve with the background color. But this isn't good enough to fill a convex rounded (based on QuadCurves) polygon. In case of some coordinates for the rectangles (as explained in the trick I used) overlap other pieces of the polygon. Here are two images (the green area is my polygon): So, the question is simple: "How can I color a shape build of curves?" But to the answer will not be simple I think...   Naming things well is arguably Job 1 for professional programmers. Yet we have all suffered from some bad naming choices from time to time. So just to vent a little, what are some doozies that you may have run across? Just to get things started: One of our original developers wasn't sure what to call a secondary key - on what turned out to be a primary table for this app - so he called it: DL2WhateverTheHellThatIs. Unfortunately this system generates entity mappings from the XML, and attributes defined there result in classes, methods, and constants that are referenced through-out the app. To this day it is very hard to find a source file that does not reference this, er, thing! I've a legacy application where data access layer consists of classes where queries are done using SqlConnection/SqlCommand and results are passed to upper layers wrapped in untyped DataSets/DataTable. Now I'm working on integrating this application into newer one where written in ASP.NET MVC 2 where LINQ2SQL is used for data access. I don't want to rewrite fancy logic of generating complex queries that are passed to SqlConnection/SqlCommand in LINQ2SQL (and don't have permission to do this), but I'd like to have result of these queries as strong-typed objects collection instead of untyped DataSets/DataTable. The basic idea is to wrap old data access code in a nice-looking from ASP.NET MVC "Model". What is the fast\easy way of doing this?

  I started by creating a universal window based app. Starting with the iPhone version I created a UIViewController and associated nib. My App delegate: rootViewController = [[RootViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window addSubview:rootViewController.view]; return YES; My RootViewController: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; adBannerView = [[ADBannerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; [self.view addSubview:adBannerView]; } I've tried instanciating buttons instead of the adBanner and I get the same result. My RootViewController's nib has not been changed since x-code created it for me. My MainWindow_iPhone.xib also is stock. What's causing this?
