• Build My Own Advertising Network

  I have a few ideas that I think would be pretty game changing for online advertising and I would like to build my own network but I don't know where to start. I know it will take a lot of time for major publishers to get on board but I am more curious about the technical side. What language/database model and framework are modern ad networks built on? Basically I want to build an advertising network that registers views per page and allows publishers to manage the look of their own ads and let's the users interact with the ads. Is there any good information on doing something like this or any framework you can suggest to build on? I know this would get complicated pretty fast so if you have suggestions for ad networks that let you customize them heavily I would be glad to hear your suggestions.

• Set up Trendnet TEW-638APB Access point on Ubuntu 14.04

  I have a computer running Ubuntu 14.04, it has 2 Ethernet ports. I would like to set up this computer so that the internet comes in on one of the ports and is then shared through the other port with the Trendnet wireless access point that my other devices would connect to and use the internet. I have looked online for information on setting this up but have not been able to find anything. If someone could point me to a guide that would help me or just tell me how to do this in an answer I would really appreciate it. please help me to solve this problem

  Problem: When debugging asp.net by attaching w3wp.exe process, you often will see encounter the following error message, the web server process that was being debugged has been terminated by IIS. Analysis: This caused Internet Information Services (IIS) to assume that the worker process had stopped responding. Therefore, IIS terminated the worker process. Solution: 1. Open IIS manager. 2.Click application Pools>>select the application pool associated with the site>>and click Advanced Settings 3. Click Advanced Settings of the application pool and set the Ping Enabled property from True to False. Now, reattach the process from Visual Studio, you should not get the error message. I was trying to apply iptable rules with iptables-apply -t 120 /etc/iptables.rules and iptables-restore < /etc/iptables.rules FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.35.4-rscloud/modules.dep: No such file or directory iptables-restore v1.4.4: iptables-restore: unable to initialize table 'filter' Error occurred at line: 2 Try `iptables-restore -h' or 'iptables-restore --help' for more information. • Installing linux on OCZ RevoDrive3 x2

  First of all, here is the configuration of my computer: Motherboard: Asus H87Plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB Processor: Intel i7 4770 Drive: OCZ RevoDrive 3 x2 (240 GB) (OCZ Revodrive3 is a PCIe module) I am trying to install the latest version of Ubuntu Desktop (13.10). The problem is that in the UEFI (bios) the drive shows up as a 240 GB drive, but in the Ubuntu installer it shows up as two 120 GB drives. If I install Ubuntu in any of these two drives, it never boots. The screen flickers a few times and comes back to the UEFI menu. I have tried reading up and have come across information that the drive has a "fakeraid", and the solution is to use dmraid. However, when I give the following commands in the terminal (from live CD): # modprobe dm_mod # dmraid -ay it says: no raid disks. And the following command: # ls -la /dev/mapper/ just shows /dev/mapper/control How can I install Ubuntu on my computer? what is the correct method?

The domain owner wants me to give him my Godaddy account information and send him the payment via Paypal gift, so that there will be no extra charges. Should this cause suspicion? Does Paypal offer any kind of fraud protection? What is the best way to protect myself from fraud in this situation, without the need for escrow services, such as escrow.com? Any advice welcomed. • how can I contact Google about a domain misuse?

  I was trying to add a newer domain of mine to my existing Google Apps account with an already set primary domain. Google Apps then returns the message that the domain is already in use by another account. I tried finding a way to contact Google, but they have a wall up preventing anyone with an original Apps account from calling them. There's a help page saying to try retrieving the password, but how is that even possible? I don't know the email address of the owner of the Apps account using my domain, and I don't know his/her name on the account, so I can't complete the form for retrieving any of the information. Google Productforums is always a dead end. Does anyone here know how to force a removal of a domain on Google Apps from someone that doesn't own it?

• Ubuntuone Preferences does not show usage, name, e-mail, current plan

  Ubuntuone is correctly synchronizing selected files between two computers running Ubuntu 10.10. When I open Ubuntuone Preferences, Account tab, on one computer it does not display the usage, name e-mail or current plan. On the other computer all information is shown correctly. On the Devices tab the 2 computers are not shown. They do show correctly on the other computer. Any ideas on how to fix this problem.   I've been out of the Ubuntu loop for quite a while now and have a completely new laptop now.   Over the years, I have created a lot of Personas, I've co-authored a new method for creating them, and I've given talks about best practices for creating your own, so when I saw a call for participation in the OpenPersonas project, I was intrigued. While Jeremy and Steve were calling for persona content, that wasn't something I could contribute -- most of the personas I've created have been proprietary and specific to particular domains of my employers. However, I felt like there were a few things I could contribute: a process, a list of interview questions, and what information good personas should contain. My next post will be the list of 15 interview questions I use to guide the conversations with people whose data will become the personas.   My question is what is the subject area that covers web page execution/loading. I am looking to purchase a book by subject area that covers when things execute or load in a web page, whether it's straight html, html and Javascript, or a PHP page. Is that topic covered by a detailed html book, or should I expect to find information like that in a JavaScript of PHP book? I understand that PHP and Perl execute on the server and that Javascript is client side, and I know there is a lot of on-line documentation describing <html>, <head>, <body>, and so on. I'm just wondering what subject area a book would be in to cover all that, not a discussion of the best book or someone's favorite book, but the subject area.

• I.T. degree for game programming?

  Hi, I am a 19 year old who has always been interested in video & computer games. I developed the interested for game programming about three months ago and started researching on the profession. The only degrees always suggested on the internet and in books are those of computer science, physics, mathematics, & game development. BSc Information Technology has been my major for the past two years; and even though my university teaches we the I.T. students computer programming (in c++, c#, java) and offers us the opportunity to undertake some computer science courses of our choice in addition to the regular I.T. courses, I am feeling insecure about my prospects in getting into the profession. My question is: Will a game development company hire me if I exhibit good math, physics and game programming skills with an I.T. degree? If NO, will I have to obtain an MSc in a much more related course.

  I am currently tasked to write a software to help engineers design standard compliant designs. If there is a bad design, software will report an error or warning. Maybe it's just me, but anyone who has done this should be familiar with the massive amounts of ANSI standards tables like this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nominal_Pipe_Size Computers are, as its name suggest, computing machines, not lookup machines. I feel that feeding formulas into computers and churning out standard compliant designs is much more efficient than doing memory intensive data lookups that are prone to human input errors and susceptible to "data updates". I actually think that there are formulas to calculate all those numbers, but nobody so far could give me that information. Anyone been through this before? What is THE best approach to this?
