• Git: can I store known repositories along the repository?

  I am setting up a Git repository. I know you can add repositories using git config --global, but is there a way that those known repositories gets cloned by users? The goal would be that once the repo gets cloned by userz, they can push to other repos just by their aliases. For example, I add git://X/mobility.git as X to the repo (somehow), a user clone it from git://Y, but then can do git push X without previously doing the git config. How to do that?

  I've started project in my first laptop. git init, and start working. Tomorrow i'm going to vacations. I want to take with me my smaller laptop. And work with project from time to time. I cloned repository via ssh from bigger laptop (git clone ssh://adress) And when i will back, what is the best way to push changes from smaller laptop to the bigger one? There is no bare repo in bigger laptop. And i want to work with that repo on the bigger laptop later, so i have to do this clear.

• jquery draggable into sortable only works after sorting

  Hi, I'm experiencing problems with a simple combination of a Draggable and Sortable: initially, the dragging does not work and I do not get a receive callback. Only after I have done a sort (i.e. change the position of things in #workarea), can I drag new things into it. Somehow it seems as if the sortable needs to be 'initialized' before it accepts draggables. My code, in a simplified version: $(".element_draggable").draggable({ zIndex: 2, helper: 'clone', connectToSortable: '#workarea'}); $("#workarea").sortable({ receive: function() {alert('received');} }); Does anyone have an idea on what I could be doing wrong here?

• Where are the readonly/const in .NET?

  In C++ you'll see void func(const T& t) everywhere. However, i havent seen anything similar in .NET. Why? I have notice a nice amount of parameters using struct. But i see no functions with readonly/const. In fact now that i tried it i couldnt use those keywords to make a function that promises to not modify a list being passed in. Is there no way to promise the caller that this function will never modify the contents of list? Is there no way to say to call code and say this list should never be modified? (I know i can clone the list or look at documentation but i like compile errors sometime)

• Multiple Input From Keyboard C# WPF

  I am writing a Tetris clone in WPF. If I hold down the right arrow key, the current piece shifts right. For playability, I want to allow the user to press another key (i.e. F-key) and rotate the moving piece without having to let go of the right arrow key first. Currently when I do this, the piece stops shifting. My first basic attempt at this was hooking into Window_PreviewKeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) and then sending a message to the controller layer. How do I structure my input-listening code to allow this? My current code Here

  What is a good setup for .hgignore file when working with Visual Studio 2008? I mostly develop on my own, only occasionly I clone the repository for somebody else to work on it. I'm thinking about obj folders, .suo, .sln, .user files etc.. Can they just be included or are there file I shouldn't include? • Why TortoiseHg not show the "merge conflict"?

  Short version of the question: Since I already have TortoiseHg, I right clicked on that file trying to see the merge conflict visually, but there is no way to see it? Details: To make a simple case of merge conflict, I hg init a repo on Win 7, and then clone it to another folder. Now, in one working directory, i added the line "the code is 123", committed. And in the other folder, i did an "hg pull" and "hg update" Now, I go back to the first folder, and change "123" to "123abc", and then do an "hg commit" And then I go to the other folder and edit "123" to "123xyz" over there, and do an "hg commit", and when "hg push", it says it can't. So I try to use any visual tool to see how the conflict is like, but ... TortoiseHg doesn't seem to have any option to do that?

• Pre-load audio files at the client-side for later use

  I'm building an online test which implements audio (mp3) using the native audio player (i.e. non Flash-based). The test shows one question at a time and loads each subsequent question asynchronously. Some questions have an accompanying audio file, others don't, and the audio files can be several MB in size. So what I'm hoping to do is to preload the audio files client-side at the start of the test and then move these into place when the relevant question comes up. So far I've tried loading an audio file into a QuickTime player, then when that question comes up I use jQuery's clone(true) method to copy this into a part of the page which is displayed. However, when I do this the QuickTime player has to reload the audio file from source. Same is true for Windows Media Player. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can preload the audio client-side and then call it forward when needed?

• How do you determine using stat() whether a file is a symbolic link?

  I basically have to write a clone of the UNIX ls command for a class, and I've got almost everything working. One thing I can't seem to figure out how to do is check whether a file is a symbolic link or not. From the man page for stat(), I see that there is a mode_t value defined, S_IFLNK. This is how I'm trying to check whether a file is a sym-link, with no luck (note, stbuf is the buffer that stat() returned the inode data into): switch(stbuf.st_mode & S_IFMT){ case S_IFLNK: printf("this is a link\n"); break; case S_IFREG: printf("this is not a link\n"); break; } My code ALWAYS prints this is not a link even if it is, and I know for a fact that the said file is a symbolic link since the actual ls command says so, plus I created the sym-link... Can anyone spot what I may be doing wrong? Thanks for the help!

  I know that they are used to store data, but I have a difficult time understanding exactly how to use them in a program. In addition, I found this site with a tetris clone tutorial (the actual tutorial is missing). It uses arrays, but I can't really make sense of how it works. Here's an example of the code - public int[, ,] TShape = new int[4, 4, 2] { {{1, 0}, {0, 1}, {1, 1}, {2, 1}}, {{1, 0}, {0, 1}, {1, 1}, {1, 2}}, {{0, 0}, {1, 0}, {2, 0}, {1, 1}}, {{0, 0}, {0, 1}, {1, 1}, {0, 2}}}; Could it be that I'm looking too hard into this, or perhaps there's something I'm not grasping about it?

• How can I copy an XmlNode from one XmlDocument to another?

  I'm building a tool that authors/edits XML files, and I want to be able to populate it with template fragments defined in another XML file. For example, the tool has an "Add FooBarBaz Element" button that adds a element to the new document being created, and I want to add FooBarBaz by copying it from a template. Or let's say this is my template file: <Templates> <FooBarBaz Attribute="Value"> <ChildElement/> </FooBarBaz> </Templates> I can then grab a template fragment with .GetElementsByTagName("FooBarBaz"), and I'd like to be able to inject it into the new document with something like .AppendChild(templateNode). But the problem is that an XmlNode cannot be copied from one XmlDocument to another, even if you use .Clone() or .CloneNode(), because AppendChild() throws an exception saying that the template element belongs to another context. Is there an easy way to copy a System.Xml.XmlNode between System.Xml.XmlDocuments?

I have one file needsOptimization.cpp where I would like to override the -O1 with -O2 instead.   Hello! I recently used git-svn to clone an SVN repository, for the purposes of maintaining my own branch of an open-source project. I'm also working with others on this branch, so we use a shared Git repository to help with the collaboration. A colleague wishes to fetch new revisions from the original SVN repository. How might he accomplish this? I can simply run "git svn fetch" on my local machine, but seeing that my colleague has cloned from the shared Git repository, his local branch lacks the necessary SVN metadata for fetching. Thanks!

  I have a live magento website hosted in Bluehost, I just installed wamp and tried to clone the live website to local wamp server. After some configuration changed from live server to local, the site is working with no problem, however, there is no admin page! If I go to localhost/magento/admin, it takes me to 404 page and throw error: The requested URL /magento/admin was not found on this server. How do I fix this? Thanks lots.   hi, in my application ( kind of wiki clone ) - an article is frequently changing. and i need to track all changes that are done on that article. { text only. } one crude way i have done it, is to add a datetime property and create a new entity everytime something change. which is too much database wasting. { and also un-necessary index waste too. } and also need to re-create parent-child and entity relationships. i also have log which can show changes -- but i want some thing easier , so that jumping from one version to another version could be easier. ideas ? thanks.

  I am trying to create a custom panel in wpf. Here the doubts I have, How do I consider the HorizontalAlignment and VerticalAlignment factors while placing the items within my panel. Should I check for these flags in my ArrangeOverride method ?? Consider that I want to write a WrapPanel clone. If the panel's width is set to "Auto", how do I get the actual width of the panel to arrange my child items. I always get the ActualWidth/ActualHeight as 0. Am I missing something??? Please help.

  I'm in the beginning of starting a small open source project. When cloning the main repository one gets a complete build environment with all the libraries and all the tools needed to make an official installer file, with correct version numbers. I like the fact that anyone who wants to contribute can clone the repository and get started with anything they want. But I'm thinking this makes it to easy for Evil People to create malicious installers and release into the wild. How should it be structured? What do you recommend including in the repository, versus keeping on the build server only?

  I've been using SVN for all my projects. Sometimes project B is originating as a copy from project A. When project A has a generic change, I can use svn merge A within directory B and it will merge those changes. Now, if I wanted to use git. I don't like having all my projects in the same repository since I then have to clone everything and can't pick just one project like in SVN. But having one repository for each project, how do I go about doing the same like I did earlier with SVN? The question is: What's the best way to structure it if I want several subprojects that really all relates to one original project and to keep them in sync? And that I also want to be able to check them out separately

  Hi all I have a project "A" that is a Git repo. I would like to be able to make multiple copies of project A (B and C), and modify them for clients. "A" is the master so sometimes when I do new functionality i would like to be able to pull them from B or C. But some commits should just stay in A and never leave :-) How do I do that with Git? • How to move iframe along the DOM without losing it's content?

  Is it possible? I have tried to move it, but iframe contents dissapear. Tried to get contents of iframe and place them in the new place but all handlers ofc dissapear. Tried to do the same, but with new jQuery 1.4.2 feature, that clones all events along with it. But it doesn't work :) So I have decided to ask here for help.
