  • Set up tunnel to HE.net and now only ipv6.google.com works, but other sites ping fine.

    - by AndrejaKo
    I'm setting up IPv6 using my router which is running OpenWRT, version Backfire 10.03.1-rc4. I made a tunnel using Hurricane Electric's tunnel broker and set it up on the router and I'm using RADVD to hand out IPv6 addresses. My problem is that on computers on the network, I can only access ipv6.google.com using a browser, but other sites seem to be loading forever and won't open in any browser. I can ping and traceroute to them fine, but can't open them with a browser. I can open any site normally with a browser from the router. Stopping firewall service on the router doesn't help, so it's probably not a firewall issue. All AAAA records resolve fine, so it's probably not a DNS issue. Computers on the network get their IPv6 addresses fine, so it's probably not a radvd issue. Similar setup worked fine for SixXs, but I'm having problems with my PoP there, so I decided to move to HE. Here are some traceroutes: From a client computer: Tracing route to ipv6.he.net [2001:470:0:64::2] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 2001:470:1f0b:de5::1 2 62 ms 63 ms 62 ms andrejako-1.tunnel.tserv6.fra1.ipv6.he.net [2001:470:1f0a:de5::1] 3 60 ms 60 ms 63 ms gige-g2-4.core1.fra1.he.net [2001:470:0:69::1] 4 63 ms 68 ms 68 ms 10gigabitethernet1-4.core1.ams1.he.net [2001:470:0:47::1] 5 84 ms 74 ms 76 ms 10gigabitethernet1-4.core1.lon1.he.net [2001:470:0:3f::1] 6 146 ms 147 ms 151 ms 10gigabitethernet4-4.core1.nyc4.he.net [2001:470:0:128::1] 7 200 ms 198 ms 202 ms 10gigabitethernet5-3.core1.lax1.he.net [2001:470:0:10e::1] 8 219 ms * 210 ms 10gigabitethernet2-2.core1.fmt2.he.net [2001:470:0:18d::1] 9 221 ms 338 ms 209 ms gige-g4-18.core1.fmt1.he.net [2001:470:0:2d::1] 10 206 ms 210 ms 207 ms ipv6.he.net [2001:470:0:64::2] Trace complete. and another from a cliet computer Tracing route to whatismyipv6.com [2001:4870:a24f:2::90] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 7 ms 1 ms 1 ms 2001:470:1f0b:de5::1 2 69 ms 70 ms 63 ms AndrejaKo-1.tunnel.tserv6.fra1.ipv6.he.net [2001:470:1f0a:de5::1] 3 57 ms 65 ms 58 ms gige-g2-4.core1.fra1.he.net [2001:470:0:69::1] 4 73 ms 74 ms 75 ms 10gigabitethernet1-4.core1.ams1.he.net [2001:470:0:47::1] 5 71 ms 74 ms 76 ms 10gigabitethernet1-4.core1.lon1.he.net [2001:470:0:3f::1] 6 141 ms 149 ms 148 ms 10gigabitethernet2-3.core1.nyc4.he.net [2001:470:0:3e::1] 7 141 ms 147 ms 143 ms 10gigabitethernet1-2.core1.nyc1.he.net [2001:470:0:37::2] 8 144 ms 145 ms 142 ms 2001:504:1::a500:4323:1 9 226 ms 225 ms 218 ms 2001:4870:a240::2 10 220 ms 224 ms 219 ms 2001:4870:a240::2 11 219 ms 218 ms 220 ms 2001:4870:a24f::2 12 221 ms 222 ms 220 ms www.whatismyipv6.com [2001:4870:a24f:2::90] Trace complete.   • Default Search provider in Internet Explorer 8 Via GP?

    - by Bump
Does anyone know how to change the default search provider in IE8 Via Group Policy? IE7 seemed to work okay but once I rolled out the IE8 browser update via WSUS, it defaults back to Bing search on all clients which is done Via group policy. I have found some people making custom adm templates to change this behavior on Google but I cannot get a strait forward answer.

  • IPv6 link-local routing

    - by singpolyma
"Routers do not forward packets with link-local addresses." says Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link-local_address) What I want to know is: that makes sense if the destination is a link-local address, but what if I have a box that only has a link-local address trying to reach a global/site scope address? Can the traffic make it back, or will that fail because the return packets will be to a link-local address?

  • How can I reset the permissions of /bin /boot /etc and /dev to orignal owner, Ubuntu?

    - by Camsoft
I accidentally changed the ownership of the /bin, /boot, /etc and /dev recursively to nobody:nogroup using chown when I misplaced a forward slash! How can I resort the original file ownerships? I've managed to get them all to root:root but I'm not sure if all the files should be owned by root and if this will break something? Is they are option to fix file permissions like there is in OS X? Help!

  • How do I disable a laptop's build-in keyboard on ubuntu?

    - by David
I have a Kinesis keyboard that I ideally like to use by placing it on top of my laptop. When I do that, I wind up pressing keys on the built-in keyboard with my external keyboard. I've been playing around with the GUI keyboard controls and reading the ubuntu forums for a couple hours without really any forward progress. Even a hacky solution or a pointer to a good library for configuring multiple keyboards differently would be much appreciated. thanks.

  • Is null return path reliable indication of a bounce?

    - by Vasiliy Faronov
I have a mailbox that receives bounces as well as normal email (the latter includes messages from automated services). I want to filter out the bounces and forward them to another mailbox. Assume I cannot change the envelope return path in email I send. Is “null return path” a reliable criterion to tell bounces from normal mail? Roughly how many false positives and false negatives can I expect if I apply it?

  • Forwarding all received mail to another server in Exchange 2007

    - by Moo
Hi, We are moving away from our Exchange environment on a hosted server to one managed in-house, and I was wondering how to have the hosted Exchange forward all email received to the new server - the servers are not on the same network, and both have the same users setup. Basically, I just need the hosted Exchange to act as a dumb relay - accept the mail, send it straight on to our new server without trying to deliver locally. Is this possible? Regards Moo

  • Running a shell script in *nix

    - by Ben
Bit of a newb using *nix (I'm actually using a bash shell in OS X 10.5) and I wondered what the probably very simple answer is to this... When I write a script (called, say, my_script) and I've saved it to the current directory, why do I have to put a period and a forward slash in front of its name to run it? Like this: ./my_script Can't the shell tell that I want to run it from the current directory? Windows seems to handle that situation. Cheers Ben

  • Comcast SMC Port Forwarding Issue

    - by Zach Fedora
I have a Comcast SMCD3G modem/router and I've been having issues getting the port to forward - When I check an online "open-port-checker" it says the port is forwarded/they can see the port on my IP. (1 Static IP is assigned to the modem) But when I try to access port 80 for example on a browser, it times out. Also when I try to remote desktop to the server (Windows Server 2008 R2) it doesn't work, yet canyouseeme.org says it is open. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

  • Symantec Gateway Security 320 VPN/Port Forwarding trouble

    - by Owl
How do I check to see if port forward is enabled with one of my dynamic tunnels on this device? I'm having trouble using a feature in our software that requires a vpn to be used. My firewalls shows it as connected but I'm unable to ping the subnet ip. Our software vendor told me that port forwarding might be causing this problem, but I didn't set up this network I'm on and I don't fully know symantec hardware.

  • Solution for secure online remote presentation?

    - by Greg Joshner
Hello, what is your (subscription free) solution to share a presentation with a number of users (below 50) that works without plug-ins in a browser and allows the presentation to be centrally controlled (and thus prevents participating users from "flipping forward")? I won't need print, save as or offline features, just showing and controlling a presentation centrally. Thanks a lot for your help!

  • SSH Socks Proxy wiith iptables REDIRECT

    - by Radium
I have googled and haven`t found the answer on my question. Help me please. There are two servers: serverA with public IP 12.0.0.10 and an private IP 10.0.0.5 serverB with public IP 20.0.0.11 I have setup SOCKS proxy on serverB to serverA: ssh -D20.0.0.11:2222 [email protected] So when on my local machine in a browser i specify SOCKS proxy 20.0.0.11:2222 (serverB:2222) as external IP while browsing i get 12.0.0.10 (serverA IP). That is ok. As well if i go onto http://10.0.0.5 (serverA private IP) it is also reachable. That is what i need. I want to make servers A private IP to be available through servers B public IP on certain ports but without specifying SOCKS in my browser. I could use ssh port forward but the problem is - i need to forward many ports and do not know which exactly - i know only the range. So when i connect to 20.0.0.11 to any port , for example, from 3000:4000 range, i want that traffic to be redirected to 10.0.0.5 on the same port. That is why i`ve decided maybe SOCKS proxy via SSH and iptables REDIRECT could help me. Client - serverBPublicIP (any port from range 3000:4000) - serverAPublicIP - serverAPrivateIP (the port was requested on serverBPublicIP) On serverB i do: ssh -D20.0.0.11:2222 [email protected] iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 20.0.0.11 -p tcp --dport 3000:4000 -j REDIRECT --to-port 2222 But that does not work - when i telnet on 20.0.0.11:3001 for example i do not see any proxied traffic on the serverA. What should i do else? I have tried tcpsocks like this (in example i am telneting to 20.0.0.11:3001) Client -> 20.0.0.11:3001 -> iptables REDIRECT from 3001 --to-port 1111 -> tcpsocks from 1111 to 2222 -> SOCKS proxy from serverB to serverA on port 2222 -> serverA But i do not know what to do with the traffic on serverA. How to route it to its private IP. Help me please. I know, VPN removes all the hell i am trying to create, but i have no ability to use tun/tap device. It is disabled.

Like the Topic says: Our Exchange Server accidentally forwards sent mails from one User to another User's Inbox. The sent mails are mostly to Outbound Adresses and they where successfully delivered but all those sent Mails are accidentally forwarded into our Info Mail account. There are no Outlook rules defined and the forward routing in exchange is not used, for such things. I really don´t know the cause of the problem and i don´t know where I have to look, because I´m new to exchange...

  • Is there a way to automatically switch profiles for a RAT mouse?

    - by MBraedley
So I bought a Cyborg RAT 7 mouse a while back, and I love it, except for one thing: it's not automatically selecting the profile for the game I've just started. This is annoying because, for instance, I have the forward and back buttons, as well as the side scroll set up for weapon selection in some games, and if the proper profile isn't selected before starting the game, none of it works. How can I get my mouse to load the proper profile when I start up a game?

I want to know, before going forward, what I can expected in lost of performance (or not) of creating Windows spanned volumes from LUN delivered by a SAN ? I don't know which kind of SAN is (we don't administer it), but they give us 10 300 Gb LUN to our Windows 2k8 R2 (Vmware) and we need larger volume so we think to spanned some disk but we are aware of the performance issue. Any input ? Regards.
