• Cant connect to wireless network in a specifc room in house

  I am facing a weird issue. I have a Toshiba Satellite L550 laptop. I live in a basement and until sometime ago , it used to be able to reach the wireless network. But now it is not alble to. It works and is able to connect to the wireless in all parts of the basement except my room. I also tried it at my school and work and my sister's place and it is able to connect. Can someone please help me out with what might be the problem?

  Hello I have a question for a c programmer out there, we have a tast at school to create a soft real time system in an operation system made by our teacher. Well that is all fine and dandy, we have chosen to create a system that calcuate how many unites of medicine a diabetic need based on his or hers blood sugar. It does not need to be correct just that we have the idea of a real time system :D But we have hit a little snag our formula for calculating the units of medicine is [blood sugar] * 1.2 But the only way we can send messages between processes is via a structure that contains 8 longs, but here is where my knowledge of c ends, we need for some way to split this double into 2 longs, example: the whole number in long 0 and the decimals in long 1 and then assemble it on the other side. But I have no idea who to do this, and therefore need a little help. We have tried but we do not have access to c standard libraries

• SQL Server adding a record record manually to a view

  I have a view which contains the data seen in the image below. The view is showing me how many working days are available in each month for the current financial year taking away any school/bank holidays. As the month of August has zero days available it has excluded this month from the view. As the total number of days available will always be zero for the month of August, then it seems acceptable to hardcode the SQL to always have 0 for August, and also an April-August record which will be the same as April-July. What would be the best way to add these 2 records, and where about in the code should it be placed see example of code layout: see link (answered question) for layout of code: SQL populate total working days per month minus bank holidays for current financial year

• Breadth first search all paths

  First of all, thank you for looking at this question. For a school assignment we're supposed to create a BFS algorithm and use it to do various things. One of these things is that we're supposed to find all of the paths between the root and the goal nodes of a graph. I have no idea how to do this as I can't find a way to keep track of all of the alternate routes without also including copies/cycles. • Help System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager find a type in a non-referenced assembly

  I'm trying to write a plug-in system where assemblies can be dropped in a folder that ASP.NET has no knowledge about. This plug-in system works fine for ASP.NET MVC based assemblies, but for old-school WebForm assemblies (where the .aspx files Inherits the System.Web.UI.Page derived classes) System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager is responsible for compiling the .aspx file into a dynamic assembly. My problem is that the BuildManager knows nothing about the assemblies within my plug-in folder and it seems to be absolutely nothing I can do to help it. If I do: BuildManager.GetType("Type.Defined.In.Plugin.Assembly", true, true) it throws. If I first get a reference to the Type and then try: var instance = BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(path, type); it still throws, even though I've now passed in the specific type it needs to compile the .aspx file. Is there anything I can do to help BuildManager find the types it needs to compile the .aspx file?

  does it take more than knowing Bt4 ? are there any one that just runs a scanner and no real labor involved ? would you be expected to be able to code your own exploits without having to dl from milw0rm and discover entry into a system by yourself, in other words, do you have to think outside the box even when there's so many tools that makes the job a lot easier ? would you ever be expected to be able to write your own scanners, exploits and etc ? i am also curious how people are able to write long pages of hex address, that magically causes some type of memory overflow...how are people guessing at the hex values for game hacks for instance ? are certification important ? what about formal school education ? I am a CS major.

Since I haven't found a solution yet I thought I tried something else in the meantime: search for every <a href= and copy whatever is there until I hit a </a>. Now, my C is a bit rusty but I do remember i can use strstr() to get the first instance of that string, but how do I get the rest? Any help is appreciated.   I have four objects - for the sake of arguments, let say that they are the following letters: A B C D I need to calculate the number of variations that can be made for these under the following two conditions: No repetition Objects are position agnostic Taking the above, this means that with a four object sequence, I can have only one sequence that matches the criteria (since order is not considered for being unique): ABCD There are four variations for a three object combination from the four object pool: ABC, ABD, ACD, and BCD There are six variations for a two object combination from the four object pool: AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, and CD And the most simple one, if taken on at a time: A, B, C, and D I swear that this was something covered in school, many, many years ago - and probably forgotten since I didn't think I would use it. :-) I am anticipating that factorials will come into play, but just trying to force an equation is not working. Any advice would be appreciated.

• How to implement image map type interface for a game board in Java 6

  My group project at school is to implement a style of monopoly in which students can buy courses and land on various squares and move around the board. This is not a regular square board so we were wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we would implement an image map or something like it to create many clickable regions not in a perfect square. I have attached the image of the game board. Just a way to start is needed, not lots of code or anything as we all know java pretty well. If anyone has any ideas that would be great. • jQuery Click event on object added with JavaScript not working.

  I'm work on a quiz for school but I've bumped into a problem. I got a javascript file for custom radio buttons (CUSTOM FORM ELEMNTS by Ryan Fait if it's helping). The script hides the input buttons and adds custom styled spans instead. Now what I want, when I click one of these JavaScript added spans I want to remove disabled for a button called "Next Question" which when pressed takes you to the next question. The reason for this is that I don't want people to accidently got to the next question without choosing a answer. The problem is when I press the added spans nothing happens but when I press another identical span which I have added in the html it works just as intended. The span got the class radio which is the class I'm looking for in the jQuery. • Google App Engine - Document Editor Creation/Tap Into Google Docs?

  What is the best way to create a custom document editor in GAE? I'm making a website meant for a School Robotics Club (With support for any other organization - DRY). We currently use Google services for online collaboration, I'm wondering if there is a way to tap into Google Docs and allow users to edit a Google Document without using Google Accounts or the Google Doc interface. If that is not possible (I've researched and I don't think it is), what is the best way to make a document editor? I want it completely on the website I'm creating, so I'm assuming just some javascript editor like TinyMCE + Ajax + Datastore. Is their anything that replicates Google Doc's/Microsoft Offices's/OpenOffice.org's feature set as far as fonts, spacing, alignment, justification, etc.?

  I am an old school java developer who is considering a using wordpress. I'm used to developing locally on my PC (yeah yeah not even a mac) and then ftping my files up to a production environment on a remote server. My high level review of wordpress gives me the impression that typically there is no concept of lower environments and that all updates occur directly in production. Is this the case?   I need to create a Java-based platformer game for a high school project (not computer science related), and I want to spend as little time on technical stuff as possible. I'm already experienced in Java, and I already have most of the gameplay, graphics, etc. All I need to do is code it. I've looked and I'm considering one of two options that do not involving coding a game from scratch: Copy an existing Java platformer (best option, but I can't find an open source Java platformer) Use a Java game engine to avoid coding from scratch. I've looked at JGame but I'm not sure if it's the best bet for a platformer.

But when I insert a cell with the insertCell() method GWT inserts an td element but should insert an th element. So TableElement table = Document.get().createTableElement(); TableSectionElement thead = table.createTHead(); TableRowElement headRow = thead.insertRow(-1); headRow.insertCell(-1).setInnerText( "header1" ); gives table/thead/tr/td but should give table/thead/tr/th Any idea how to solve this problem? • Storing users in a database

  Im wondering whats the best way of storing different types of users in my database. I am writing an application that has 4 main user types (admin, school, teacher, student). At the moment I have a table for each of these but i'm not sure thats the best way of storing user information. For instance... Allowing students to PM other student is simple (store sender and receiver student_id) but enabling teachers to PM students requires another table (sender teacher_id, sender student_id). Should all users be stored in one users table with a user_type field? If so, the teacher / student specific information will still have to be stored in another table. users user_id, password_hash, user_type students user_id, student_specific_stuff... teachers user_id, teacher_specific_stuff... How do I stop a user who has a user_type = student from being accidentally being entered into the teachers table (as both have a user_id) Just want to make sure I get the database correct before i go any further. • Where can I find the transaction protocol used by Automated Teller Machines?

  I'm doing a grad-school software engineering project and I'm looking for the protocol that governs communications between ATMs and bank networks. I've been googling for quite a while now, and though I'm finding all sorts of interesting information about ATMs, I'm surprised to find that there seems to be no industry standard for high-level communications. I'm not talking about 3DES or low-level transmission protocols, but something along the lines of an Interface Control Document; something that governs the sequence of events for various transactions: verify credentials, withdrawal, check balance, etc. Any ideas? Does anything like this even exist? I can't believe that after all this time the banks and ATM manufacturers are still just making this up as they go. A shorter question: if I wanted to go into the ATM software manufacturing business, where would I start looking for standards?

• Most Efficient way to set Register to 1 or (-1)

  I am taking an assembly course now, and the guy who checks our home assignments is a very pedantic old-school optimization freak. For example he deducts 10% if he sees: mov ax, 0 instead of: xor ax,ax even if it's only used once. I am not a complete beginner in assembly programing but I'm not an optimization expert, so I need your help in something (might be a very stupid question but I'll ask anyway): if I need to set a register value to 1 or (-1) is it better to use: mov ax, 1 or do something like: xor ax,ax inc ax I really need a good grade, so I'm trying to get it as optimized as possible. ( I need to optimize both time and code size)

• Tracing or Logging Resource Governor classification function behavior in Sql Server 2008

  I'm trying to use the Resource Governor in SQL Server 2008 but I find it hard to debug the classification function and figure out what the input variables will have, i.e. does SUSER_NAME() contain the domain name? What does the APP_NAME() string look like? It's also hard to verify that it's working correctly. What group did the function return? The only way I can see this is to fire up the performance monitor and watch unblinkingly for little blips in the right CPU counter. Is there some way I can either run it in Debug mode, where I can set a breakpoint and step through and look at variable values, or can I at least do the old-school method of writing trace statements to a file so I can see what's going on? Thanks...

• Playground for Artificial Intelligence?

  In school, one of my professors had created a 3D game (not just an engine), where all the players were entirely AI-controlled, and it was our assignment to program the AI of a single player. We were basically provided an API to interact with the game world. Our AI implementations were then dropped into the game together, and we watched as our programs went to battle against each other. It was like robot soccer, but virtual, and with lots of big guns. I'm now looking for anything similar (and open source) to play with. (Preferably in Java, but I'm open to any language.) I'm not looking for a game engine, or a framework... I'm looking for a complete game that simply lacks AI code... preferably set up for this kind of exercise. Suggestions?

Ad random computers are added and removed. Is there any open source project or algorithm that could help us visualising this in VB.net? Or would you suggest us to switch to java.   In order for a school project i need to create the following situation within one mysql query. The situation is as such, that a child's tags and a parent's tags need to be combined into one, and compared to a site's tags, depending on a few extra simple equals to lines. For this to happen I only see the option that the result of a subquery is combined with a sub query within that query, as such: SELECT tag.*, (SELECT group_concat(t1.id, ',', (SELECT group_concat(tag.id) FROM adcampaign INNER JOIN adcampaign_tag ON adcampaign.id = adcampaign_tag.adcampaign_id INNER JOIN tag ON adcampaign_tag.tag_id = tag.id WHERE adcampaign.id = 1)) FROM ad, ad_tag, tag AS t1 WHERE ad.id = ad_tag.ad_id AND ad_tag.tag_id = t1.id AND ad.adcampaign_id = 1 AND ad.agecategory_id = 1 AND ad.adsize_id = 1 AND ad.adtype_id = 1) as tags FROM tag WHERE tag.id IN tags But the IN comparison only returns the first result because now the tags aren't a list but a concanated string. Anyone got any suggestion on this? I really need a way to combine it into one array
