  I am trying to use Nvidia Optimus on my laptop by using Bumblebee, I have an Intel Core i5 with an Nvidia Geforce GT 630M. I have followed the instructions on the wiki page at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bumblebee, but when trying to run optirun with Firefox (or any other program, like glxspheres), I get the following error: [ 1921.452820] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: Could not load GPU driver [ 1921.452905] [ERROR]Aborting because fallback start is disabled.   I bought a brand new computer yesterday (Toshiba Satellite Pro L770-10T : Intel Core i5 2410M, 2,3 GHz, 4096 Mo RAM, nVidia GeForce GT 525M) that simply won't boot any livecd I tried. I am using debian/ubuntu for a long time but this is the first time I can't boot a livecd Here is what I tried without success: Ubuntu 11.04 i386 and x64 both desktop and alternate Debian stable livecd old working ubuntu livecds including 8.x 9.x 10.x On ubuntu-10.04.2-desktop-i386.iso I had a kernel panic On 11.04 packages were corrupted although md5 and sha1 were correct I must add that those were burned on different cds CD-R or CD-RW. • Ubuntu 14.04 upgrade succeeded partially - I would like to use a different mirror; how can I do that?

  When I wanted to upgrade from Ubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 the update manager told me that there was an unresolvable problem with calculating the upgrade. In order to see more details I performed the following on the command line: apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade apt-get install update-manager-core do-release-upgrade Now do-release-upgrade tells me that no newer version is available but the "about" box in the main menu tells me I am still on 13.10. I think the latter is right, as for instance in the "system settings" there is no way to select local menus, which is present in 14.04 (I tried with a DVD, and there it is). Maybe the problem is related to the fact that "apt-get update" cannot get two resources called "saucy/InRelease" and "saucy/main/binary-i386/Packages" from the mirror (mirror.informatik.uni-mannheim.de; 404 not found). I would like to use a different mirror; how can I do that? Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'm interested only in the PHP arhitecture and how a professional developer would implement this in it's OWN FRAMEWORK. What names would you use for the classes? What subfolders would you used in your MODEL folder? How would you connect the MODELS/CONTROLLER? This is just a arhitecture question to understand better the principles of good OOP in practice. My current implementation is very simplistic using a service model: /controller/SearchReplaceController.php /models/services/SearchReplaceService.php The problem with this is I know I'm breaking SRP in the service but I found this somehow acceptable. Also creating a service does not feel like the best solution for this.

• Shutdown after waking up

  This issue appeard after installing last week's updates from Update Manager. When waking up after suspend, the OS starts loading and it halts unexpectedly, before the load is complete. I don't get to see login screen. This worked well last week, before installing updates. Then I need to remove laptop's battery, wait a while, then plug it and start again (otherwise power button won't work). Is anybody else experiencing this behavior? I have an HP DV7 with an intel core i7.

  After recently announcing it, one of my readers with a background in website management sent me an email saying that I should reconsider moving my domain from [keyword]news.org to [same keyword]lab.com. It is a content-heavy news site around products that I hope to eventually build into a more comprehensive authority for the [keyword] industry I'm covering w/ B2B services, merchandise, etc. The current domain is a bit generic & I think the new one will be more marketable. Relevant stats: 320k-350k pv's/month Google brings in 39% and Yahoo/Bing 4% of traffic 10-11% of monthly search strings contains " news" SEOMoz Open Site Explorer stats: Page authority: 65/100 Domain authority: 58/100 Linking root domains: 226 Total links: 35,700 I am familiar with what I need to do as far as 301 redirects, etc. I was assuming that I'd be ok after following Google's recommended procedures but now I am not so sure.

• 12.04 install now just blank screen

  I have attempted to install a new copy of 12.04 using usb stick instead of using download manager. Everything went fine while using usb stick until I restarted after installation was complete. Then, I got the screen with cursor and 4 lines of script with the first line saying "could not write to bytes: broken pipes". I have used several versions of Ubuntu from 6.04, but this one seems broken. I have tried nouveau.blacklist and many other suggestions to no luck. I am using hp pavilion m7790y dual core processor system, with nvidia 7600gt video card, 4gb ram and two hard drives with Vista on one and fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 on other. I'm still looking for help to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

  I installed WorldOfGooSetup.1.41.deb and it didn't work. There was a segmentation fault error (core dumped) in terminal. I fixed that with: sudo cp /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libvorbis.so.* /opt/WorldOfGoo/libs32 sudo cp /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libvorbis.so.* /opt/WorldOfGoo/libs64 That error is new for me as I have never had it before with previous releases of Ubuntu. The game starts now but no sound effects or music is played. I can hear music with my computer, videos, etc, so it is not a volume control problem. I am using ubuntu 12.04 final release.
