    I have an absolutely positioned element at the bottom of a container element. The problem is that the content of the container changes dynamically (javascript).   • UIView to Form Sheet flip animation rotation issue

    I have this view to form sheet flip animation that works great in portrait mode but not in any other orientations. In my code, I use it with a UIView embedded in another UIView, which is in the root view. The animation will be rotated.   • Including objects from external .js files

    I have been searching for many hours over several days for this answer and though there are many topics on how to include files in a project (also here at Stack Overflow), I have not yet found THE solution to my problem. I'm working on a project where I want to include one single object at a time, from many different files (I do not want to include the files themselves, only their content). All the object in all the files have the same name, only the content is different. It is important that I do not get a SCRIPT tag in the head section of the page as all the content from the files will have the same names. None of the files will have functions anyways, only one single object, that will need to be loaded one at the time and then discarded when the next element is loaded.     I just built a new proxy server and compiled the latest versions of squid and dansguardian. We use basic authentication to select what users are allowed outside of our network. It seems squid is working just fine and accepts my username and password and lets me out. But if i connect to dans guardian, it prompts for username and password and then displays a message saying my username is not allowed to access the internet. Its pulling my username for the error message so i know it knows who i am. The part i get confused on is i thought that part was handled all by squid, and squid is working flawlessly.     I'm having problem with client side validation on a View that renders a dropdownlist with help of a Html.RenderAction. I have two controllers. SpecieController and CatchController and I've created ViewModels for my views. I want to keep it as DRY as possible and I will most probably need a DropDownList for all Specie elsewhere in the near future. When I create a Catch i need to set a relationship to one specie, I do this with an id that I get from the DropDownList of Species.     I am trying to implement simple xhr abstraction, and am getting this warning when trying to set the headers for a POST. I think it might have something to do with setting the headers in a separate js file, because when i set them in the <script> tag in the .html file, it worked fine. The POST request is working fine, but I get this warning, and am curious why. I get this warning for both content-length and connection headers, but only in WebKit browsers (Chrome 5 beta and Safari 4). In Firefox, I don't get any warnings, the Content-Length header is set to the correct value, but the Connection is set to keep-alive instead of close, which makes me think that it is also ignoring my setRequestHeader calls and generating it's own. I have not tried this code in IE. I'd like to be able to pass in a collection of models or view-models (e.g., IQueryable<MyViewModel>) and get back an HTML table that uses the DisplayName attribute for the headings (th elements) and Html.Display(propertyName) for the cells (td elements). Each row should correspond to one item in the collection.     I have built a blog application using Ruby on Rails. In the application I have posts and tags. Post has_many :tags and Tag belongs_to :post. In the /views/posts/index.html view I want to display two things. First is a listing of all posts displayed 'created_at DESC' and then in the side bar I am wanting to reference my Tags table, group records, and display as a link that allows for viewing all posts with that tag. With the code below, I am able to display the tag groups and succesfully display all posts with that tag. There are two problems with it thought. /posts view, the code seems to be referencing the Tag table and displaying the post multiple times, directly correlated to how many tags that post has. (i.e. if the post has 3 tags it will display the post 3 times). /posts view, only displays posts that have Tags.   • Myfaces extensionfilter overriding renderkit? (Tree2 component)

    I've pulled in the tree2 component (from Tomahawk 1.1.9). Had used the simpler Tree component on previous projects, and this one just looks a bit nicer. Running on websphere 6.1.x and set the server side flag that's needed (com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.invokefilterscompatibility=true) and set the extensionfilter accordingly. Everything's good, and works as expected. Here's the issue: - on a page being included on this one (just some typical footer type info with NO myfaces widgets), there's some embedded html that's getting flagged with warnings in the systemout console). These look like org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 475. Surroundings: 'span id="tile:footr:viewFragm'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 479. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 492. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. The problem isn't necessarily with the html (which should be cleaned up regardless :-). IF I don't include myfaces, I don't get these warning messages with the default ibm jsf renderer (using jsf 1.1 still). Obviously, IBM's implementation is a bit more lax than myFaces. The page has nothing to do with myfaces at all. The reason for needing the extension filter is that it needs (for the Tree2 anyways, I know it does more for file upload) to intercept requests and then stick some .js includes on the page. Investigated this a bit, and I've included this filter in my web.xml, but it is NO longer fronting the faces servlet. So, the filter is instantiated at startup, but is never executed. Since the filter isn't in place, I've had to hard code in the includes for the 2 .js files into my page Now, the tree2 gets rendered properly, AND I'm not getting the warnings from above, because with the extentionfilter not being called, its using the IBM renderkit ;-) I'm a bit concerned that when the extension filter is in place, everything is being rendered by myFaces, rather than IBM's renderkit (i.e. All I want is myfaces/tomahawk to render the tree2 only, and let the ri do everything else) Can anyone confirm this? When you use myfaces/tomahawk, is it doing all the rendering for the whole application, or just the page any tomahawk widget is on? Thanks for any thoughts on this mike

  • Stretching width correctly to 100% of an inline-block element in IE6 and IE7

    I have the following markup, where I am attempting to get the right hand side of the second table to align with the right hand side of the heading above it. This works in IE8, Firefox and Chrome, but in IE6/7 the table is incorrectly stretched to fill the width of the page. I'm using the Trip Switch hasLayout trigger to apply inline-block in IE6/7. Does anyone know how (or even if) I can get the table only to fill the natural width of the wrapper element displayed with inline-block in IE6/7?     I'm trying to write an auto-scaffolder for Index views. I'd like to be able to pass in a collection of models or view-models (e.g., IQueryable<MyViewModel>) and get back an HTML table that uses the DisplayName attribute for the headings (th elements) and Html.Display(propertyName) for the cells (td elements). Each row should correspond to one item in the collection. The <td> elements are not working because the Html in <%= Html.Display(property.DisplayName) %> contains the model for the view, which is a collection of items, not the item itself. Somehow, I need to obtain an HtmlHelper object whose Model property is the current item, but I'm not sure how to do that. How do I solve these two problems?

  • Creating a Blog ruby on Rails - Problem Deleting Comments

    As I always type I am new to rails and programming in general so go easy. Thanks in advance. I have successfully followed the initial tutorial from Ryan Bates on how to build a weblog in 15 minutes. If you don't know this tutorial takes you through creating posts and allowing for comments on those post. It even introduces AJAX through the creating and displaying comments on the posts show.html.erb page. All works great. Here's the hiccup, when Ryan takes you though this tutorial he clears out the comments_controller and only shows the code for creating comments. I am trying to add back the ability to edit and destroy comments. Can't see to get it to work, keeps deleting the actual post not the comment (log shows that I keep sending DELETE request to PostsController).   • Rails AtomFeedBuilder Entry :Url option appears in url tag but not in link tag

    Hello, I'm using the AtomFeedHelper and everything is working fine except for one feed where I need to link each entry to a URL which is not the default polymorphic_url for the record. Per the documentation I've specified an :url option for the entry. This correctly renders a <url> tag in the atom node but the <link rel="alternate" still points to the default polymorphic_url. Looking at the source and the documentation I don't understand why this is happening.   • Conflict between Jquery Validate and Asp.net MVC

    Hi I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 and jquery validate 1.7 (http://bassistance.de/jquery-plugins/jquery-plugin-validation/) What happens is this. A user can click on a link to edit a product. When a user clicks on which product they want to edit a jquery dialog box appears with a form of textboxes and dropdown lists. These html controls have information filled in them. Say if the user chooses to edit the Ipad product a dialog will appear and one of the form textboxes will have "Ipad" in it. Now this form gets rendered on the server side(the form is in a partial view). When loading the dialog box a ajax request is made to get that partial view and in the response part of the ajax call I do something like $('#EditDialog).html(ajaxresponse).dialog({...}); So I would have something like this rendered in my dialog box <form id="EditProduct"> Product Name: <input type="text" value="IPad" name="ProductName" /> </form> Now my jquery validate would be something like this. $("#EditProduct").validate( { errorContainer: "#Errorbox", errorLabelContainer: "#Errorbox ul", wrapper: "li", rules: { ProductName: "required" } }); So I know this works because I use the same validate for add product and if you try to leave ProductName blank it will show a validation error. Now it does not work with the edit one though and I think I know the reason why but not how to fix it. The value for the textbox is "IPad" this is how the Html.TextBoxFor() renders it. However if a user goes and changes the product name to "Iphone" or blank the value never changes. It is always "Ipad" in the html. So I think when the validate goes and looks it goes oh there is a value already in it. It is valid even though in reality it might be blank. When I post to the server through ajax it gets the right value and the server side validation stops it but my entire clientside validation is rendered useless because of this problem as it will never change the html.

I made it this way to preserve the state of the checkboxes between round trips if there is a problem with the model (missing title, bad value for decimal, or something that can only be checked server-side like duplicate tile). I would expect that there is a nicer way to do this, I just don't know what it is. I suspect that I need to change the shape of my ViewModel to better accommodate the data, but i don't know how. I am using MVC 2.

    Ok, everything is 'functionally' working with what I am attempting to accomplish and once again, I am sure this is something dumb, but I cannot figure out how to do this one thing. I have an edit form for an entity, lets say a car. This 'car' can have 0 - many passengers. So on my edit form, I have all the fields for the car, then a list view showing each passenger (partial). I also have a 'add new passenger' button that will render a new partial view that allows you to enter a passenger. This has a cancel link and an add button to submit an Ajax form. When you add a passenger, the passenger is automatically added to the list, but I need the enter passenger form to go away. I have tried using the onSuccess and onComplete functions to hide the div that the form is in, but both render just the partial view HTML elements (white screen, text) and not the partialView in the context of the entire page.
