  • Open WPD Device in Windows Explorer from .NET

    - by BerndDA
Hello all. I am currently working on an application for managing a WPD device. I want to add an option to open the wpd device in windows explorer to view the saved files. Problem is that I can't find a way to open explorer pointing to the device's "folder". I have all information of the device (pnp device id, class name, etc.) Anybody knows a solution? Thanks in advance! Bernd

  • PHP: Combine Two 16-bit Integers into a 32-bit integer

    - by Goro
Hello, I am trying to combine two integers in my application. By combine I mean stick one byte stream at the end of the other, not concatenate the strings. The two integers are passed from hardware that can't pass a 32 bit value directly, but passes two consecutive 16-bit values separately. Thanks,

  • Best way for user authentication on JavaEE 6 using JSF 2.0?

    - by ngeek
I'm wondering what the current state of art recommendation is regarding user authentication for a web application making use of JSF 2.0 (and if any components do exist) and JEE6 core mechanisms (login/check permissions/logouts) with user information hold in a JPA entity. The Sun tutorial is a bit sparse on this (only handles servlets). This is without making use of a whole other framework, like Spring-Security (acegi), or Seam, but trying to stick hopefully with the new Java EE 6 platform (web profile) if possible. Thanks, Niko

  • Is gethostbyname guaranteed to return hostent structures with IPv4 addresses?

    - by Robert
    I cannot use getaddrinfo(...) for resolving hostnames and therefore must stick to gethostbyname(...) Is the gethostbyname(...) function guaranteed to return hostent structures that contain only IPv4 (AF_INET) addresses on success, so that the following code would always lead to an IPv4 address: int resolve(const char *name, struct in_addr *addr) { struct hostent *he = gethostbyname(name); if (!he) return 1; memcpy(addr,he->h_addr_list[0],4); return 0; }

  • How can I create a footer/toolbar in an iPhone web app?

    - by Hector Scout
I'm working on a web app and I need to get a div to stick to the bottom of the viewport. Always viewable and always on the bottom of the viewport. There's an example of what I want here: footer. Unfortunately, this doesn't work on the iPhone. I can think of some ways to do this using javascript but I would rather not. Any ideas on how to get this effect on the iPhone using only css?

  • New Rails project -- Rails2 or Rails3?

    - by Earlz
I have this new project I need to build. I want to have at least started on it by the end of this month. So which version should I use though? Should I just stick with the stable Rails2 or try to use Rails3 so I won't have to migrate later? Which one would you suggest for someone that is still learning Rails?

  • Swap CSS class on the basis of Scroll Position with Javascript

    - by Alan
I have followed answer given by CMS in relation to getting a menu to stay in one place on the page whilst you scroll the page as per this original question and it works very well but I also have a number of images on the page where I'm using the jquery fancylink plugin to show an enlarged image on click. The problem is when you then close the fancylink popup and scroll to the top of the page the static DIV then decides to stick to the very top of the page. Any ideas or help would this would be greatly appreciated.

  • LDAP to change user password

    - by neobie
As I know, in PHP, we need to connect LDAP over SSL in order to change user password. Is there another way, E.G, other language (JAVA / ASP) to change LDAP password without SSL required? Thanks. Updates: I get "Warning: ldap_mod_replace() [function.ldap-mod-replace]: Modify: Insufficient access" when I try to modify self account password. If i try to change other user password, I get no error message, but the password still stick to the old one.

  • What is an MQ and why do I want to use it?

    - by daveslab
Hi folks, On my team at work, we use the IBM MQ technology a lot for cross-application communication. I've seen lately on Hacker News and other places about other MQ technologies like RabbitMQ. I have a basic understanding of what it is (a commonly checked area to put and get messages), but what I want to know what exactly is it good at? How will I know where I want to use it and when? Why not just stick with more rudimentary forms of interprocess messaging?

  • How to set the returnURL manually when using Ajax.ActionLink

    - by Roge
I have this link @Ajax.ActionLink("create poll question", "CreatePoll", new { id = Model.DebateID }, new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "poll-entry-box", InsertionMode = InsertionMode.Replace, HttpMethod = "GET" }) which is pointing at a action with the [Authorize] Attribute. The login works, but the returnURL is empty so it just redirects to the index page. Is there some way to manually set the returnURL ? NOTE I am using the method described here http://haacked.com/archive/2011/10/04/prevent-forms-authentication-login-page-redirect-when-you-donrsquot-want.aspx because the login page was loading inside my partial.
