  • Entity Framework: EntityCommand automatically parsing and determine parameter types?

    - by Torben Rahbek Koch
Hi everybody, Pretty new to Entity Framework I must admit, but I simply cannot believe that there is no built-in solution for this problem. Let's say I create an EntityCommand: EntityCommand cmd = conn.CreateCommand(); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.CommandText = commandText; And let's say the the commandText is something like this: SELECT sp.UserName, sp.Rights FROM EntityContext.Users as sp WHERE sp.UserName=@UserName Now it would be really neat if the Parameters collection of cmd could be automatically filled. The framework should obviously know the types etc. but I guess that's simply not how it works beneath. The problem is that the commandText is configurable on run-time, and I must show some GUI that asks for values of the parameters. Any idea on how this could be accomplished? Thanks for any ideas and for listening!

  • PHP Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction

    - by Joe
I am making my first SOAPclient and I am stuck with the Headers, I am getting a response and when I look at my request it has a soap:body but no soap:headers. The web service has needs 3 parameters 1.UserName 2.Password 3.errorMessage This is the code I have set up. $SOAPAction = 'http://localhost/DriveAwayPriceCalculation/PriceCalculation'; //Namespace of the WS. // $SoapHeaders = array('User123' => $UserName, 'Password123' => $Password, '' => $errorMessage); $client = new nusoap_client("https://test.com/CalculationWS.asmx?WSDL", false, $UserName, $Password, $errorMessage); $headers = new SoapHeader('http://localhost/DriveAwayPriceCalculation/PriceCalculation', true, $SoapHeaders); As I said I am just starting out in SOAP (and PHP) so if you could help, it would be great. Thanks

  • LazyInitializationException when adding to a list that is held within a entity class using hibernate

    - by molleman
Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); . i dont understand it really at all.! any help would be great. the stack trace of the error is below public String executeAction(HttpServletRequest request, List<FileItem> sessionFiles) throws UploadActionException { for (FileItem item : sessionFiles) { if (false == item.isFormField()) { try { YFUser user1 = (YFUser)getSession().getAttribute(SESSION_USER); // This is the location where a file will be stored String fileLocationString = "/Users/Stefano/Desktop/UploadedFiles/" + user1.getUsername(); File fl = new File(fileLocationString); fl.mkdir(); // so here i will create the a file container for my uploaded file File file = File.createTempFile("upload-", ".bin",fl); // this is where the file is written to disk item.write(file); // the FileLocation object is then created FileLocation fileLocation = new FileLocation(); fileLocation.setLocation(fileLocationString); • How to optimize this MySQL query

    - by James Simpson
This query was working fine when the database was small, but now that there are millions of rows in the database, I am realizing I should have looked at optimizing this earlier. It is looking at over 600,000 rows and is Using where; Using temporary; Using filesort (which leads to an execution time of 5-10 seconds). It is using an index on the field 'battle_type.' SELECT username, SUM( outcome ) AS wins, COUNT( * ) - SUM( outcome ) AS losses FROM tblBattleHistory WHERE battle_type = '0' && outcome < '2' GROUP BY username ORDER BY wins DESC , losses ASC , username ASC LIMIT 0 , 50

It is probably caused by the foreign key constraint?

  • GetVirtualPath not making any sense.

    - by HeavyWave
Can anyone explain why this code with the given routes returns the first route? routes.MapRoute(null, "user/approve", new { controller = "Users", action = "Approve" }), routes.MapRoute(null, "user/{username}", new { controller = "Users", action = "Profile" }), routes.MapRoute(null, "user/{username}/{action}", new { controller = "Users" }), routes.MapRoute(null, "user/{username}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Users" }), routes.MapRoute(null, "search/{query}", new { controller = "Artists", action = "Search", page = 1 }), routes.MapRoute(null, "search/{query}/{page}", new { controller = "Artists", action = "Search" }), routes.MapRoute(null, "music", new { controller = "Artists", action = "Index", page = 1 }), routes.MapRoute(null, "music/page/{page}", new { controller = "Artists", action = "Index" }) var pageLinkValueDictionary = new RouteValueDictionary(this.linkWithoutPageValuesDictionary); pageLinkValueDictionary.Add("page", pageNumber); var virtualPathData = RouteTable.Routes.GetVirtualPath(this.viewContext.RequestContext, pageLinkValueDictionary); Here GetVirtualPath always returns user/approve, although there is no {page} parameter in the route. Furthermore, everything works as expected without the first route. I have found this link http://www.codeplex.com/aspnet/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=2033 but it wasn't very helpful. It looks like GetVirtualPath was not implemented with large collections of routes in mind. I am using ASP.Net MVC 1.0.

WHat the heck is going on?

  • Localizing concatenated or dynamic strings

    - by SooDesuNe
I'm familiar with using NSLocalizedString() to localize strings, but the problem I have today requires a little more finesse. My situation is like this: NSString *userName; //the users name, entered by the user. Does not need localized NSString *favoriteFood; //the users favorite food, also entered by user, and not needing localized NSString *summary = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@'s favorite food is %@", userName, favoriteFood]; This works fine for english, but not every language uses the same word ordering as English, for example, a word-by-word translation of the same sentance from Japanese into English would read: UserName's favorite food pizza is Not to mention that 's is doesn't make a possessive in every language. What techniques are available for localizing this type of concatenated sentence?

  • Is it possible to scan Entities in jar files using JPA and hibernate

    I have the following situation : Project A - Contains a few entities and is independent Project B - Contains a few entities and is independent Project C - Contains few entities and is dependent on Project A & Project B. I am using Maven to manage dependencies and builds. When I try to test Project A and project B it goes through fine. Each of them has a persistence.xml and a separate persistent context. When I run Project C , It does map any of the entities. I have tried to use the auto-detect, specified the jar file attribute ... but nothing seems to work. It gives me a Mapping Exception saying unknown entity and wont persist or read the Entities from Projects A or B. I have posted the 3 persistence.xml files here. Also, I tried using the class attribute and using the same persistent context but it just wont find the files. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance ! <persistence xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_1_0.xsd" version="1.0"> <persistence-unit name="A" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL"> <provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider> <properties> <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class" value="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"/> <property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.username" value="username"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.password" value="password"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.url" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@webdev.epi.web:1521/webdev.world"/> <property name="hibernate.max_fetch_depth" value="3"/> <property name="hibernate.archive.autodetection" value="class"/> </properties> </persistence-unit> </persistence> <persistence xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_1_0.xsd" version="1.0"> <persistence-unit name="B" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL"> <provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider> <properties> <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class" value="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"/> <property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.username" value="username"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.password" value="password"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.url" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@webdev.epi.web:1521/webdev.world"/> <property name="hibernate.max_fetch_depth" value="3"/> <property name="hibernate.archive.autodetection" value="class"/> </properties> </persistence-unit> </persistence> <persistence xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_1_0.xsd" version="1.0"> <persistence-unit name="C" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL"> <provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider> <jar-file>A-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar</jar-file> <jar-file>B-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar</jar-file> <properties> <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class" value="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"/> <property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.username" value="username"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.password" value="password"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.url" value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@webdev.epi.web:1521/webdev.world"/> <property name="hibernate.max_fetch_depth" value="3"/> <property name="hibernate.archive.autodetection" value="class"/> </properties> </persistence-unit> </persistence>

  • PHP: form action on same page, still show same until refresh

    - by Karem
Yes, Im having a little edit profile page, index.php?mode=profile. Lets take the username in the editprofile form as example. The username is already in the username-field. So i changed from "Peter" to "Tom" and press save. The action is ?mode=profile&edit=true. So now when i have pressed save it has updated the column in the db from Peter to Tom. But this field keeps having the value "Peter" until if i do press refresh (or f5), then "Tom" will appear. Like it hasnt updated in the database anything, although it did but it still shows Peter until next refresh.. like it caches, but it shouldnt cache nothing? Any help on this? Is it because its on the same "page" / file? what can i do
