  • regular expression to read the string between <title> and </title>

    - by user262325
    Hello every one I hope to read the contents between and in a html string. I think it should be in objective-c @"<title([\\s\\S]*)</title>" below are the codes that rewrited for regular expression //source of NSStringCategory.h #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import <regex.h> @interface NSStringCategory:NSObject { regex_t preg; } -(id)initWithPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options; -(void)dealloc; -(BOOL)matchesString:(NSString *)string; -(NSString *)matchedSubstringOfString:(NSString *)string; -(NSArray *)capturedSubstringsOfString:(NSString *)string; +(NSStringCategory *)regexWithPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options; +(NSStringCategory *)regexWithPattern:(NSString *)pattern; +(NSString *)null; +(void)initialize; @end @interface NSString (NSStringCategory) -(BOOL)matchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options; -(BOOL)matchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern; -(NSString *)substringMatchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options; -(NSString *)substringMatchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern; -(NSArray *)substringsCapturedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options; -(NSArray *)substringsCapturedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern; -(NSString *)escapedPattern; @end and .m file #import "NSStringCategory.h" static NSString *nullstring=nil; @implementation NSStringCategory -(id)initWithPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options { if(self=[super init]) { int err=regcomp(&preg,[pattern UTF8String],options|REG_EXTENDED); if(err) { char errbuf[256]; regerror(err,&preg,errbuf,sizeof(errbuf)); [NSException raise:@"CSRegexException" format:@"Could not compile regex \"%@\": %s",pattern,errbuf]; } } return self; } -(void)dealloc { regfree(&preg); [super dealloc]; } -(BOOL)matchesString:(NSString *)string { if(regexec(&preg,[string UTF8String],0,NULL,0)==0) return YES; return NO; } -(NSString *)matchedSubstringOfString:(NSString *)string { const char *cstr=[string UTF8String]; regmatch_t match; if(regexec(&preg,cstr,1,&match,0)==0) { return [[[NSString alloc] initWithBytes:cstr+match.rm_so length:match.rm_eo-match.rm_so encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding] autorelease]; } return nil; } -(NSArray *)capturedSubstringsOfString:(NSString *)string { const char *cstr=[string UTF8String]; int num=preg.re_nsub+1; regmatch_t *matches=calloc(sizeof(regmatch_t),num); if(regexec(&preg,cstr,num,matches,0)==0) { NSMutableArray *array=[NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity:num]; int i; for(i=0;i<num;i++) { NSString *str; if(matches[i].rm_so==-1&&matches[i].rm_eo==-1) str=nullstring; else str=[[[NSString alloc] initWithBytes:cstr+matches[i].rm_so length:matches[i].rm_eo-matches[i].rm_so encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding] autorelease]; [array addObject:str]; } free(matches); return [NSArray arrayWithArray:array]; } free(matches); return nil; } +(NSStringCategory *)regexWithPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options { return [[[NSStringCategory alloc] initWithPattern:pattern options:options] autorelease]; } +(NSStringCategory *)regexWithPattern:(NSString *)pattern { return [[[NSStringCategory alloc] initWithPattern:pattern options:0] autorelease]; } +(NSString *)null { return nullstring; } +(void)initialize { if(!nullstring) nullstring=[[NSString alloc] initWithString:@""]; } @end @implementation NSString (NSStringCategory) -(BOOL)matchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options { NSStringCategory *re=[NSStringCategory regexWithPattern:pattern options:options|REG_NOSUB]; return [re matchesString:self]; } -(BOOL)matchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern { return [self matchedByPattern:pattern options:0]; } -(NSString *)substringMatchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options { NSStringCategory *re=[NSStringCategory regexWithPattern:pattern options:options]; return [re matchedSubstringOfString:self]; } -(NSString *)substringMatchedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern { return [self substringMatchedByPattern:pattern options:0]; } -(NSArray *)substringsCapturedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern options:(int)options { NSStringCategory *re=[NSStringCategory regexWithPattern:pattern options:options]; return [re capturedSubstringsOfString:self]; } -(NSArray *)substringsCapturedByPattern:(NSString *)pattern { return [self substringsCapturedByPattern:pattern options:0]; } -(NSString *)escapedPattern { int len=[self length]; NSMutableString *escaped=[NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:len]; for(int i=0;i<len;i++) { unichar c=[self characterAtIndex:i]; if(c=='^'||c=='.'||c=='['||c=='$'||c=='('||c==')' ||c=='|'||c=='*'||c=='+'||c=='?'||c=='{'||c=='\\') [escaped appendFormat:@"\\%C",c]; else [escaped appendFormat:@"%C",c]; } return [NSString stringWithString:escaped]; } @end I use the codes below to get the string between "" and "" NSStringCategory *a=[[NSStringCategory alloc] initWithPattern:@"<title([\s\S]*)</title>" options:0];// Unfortunately [a matchedSubstringOfString:response]] always returns nil I do not if the regular expression is wrong or any other reason. Welcome any comment Thanks interdev

  • 'Design By Contract' in C#

    - by IAmCodeMonkey
I wanted to try a little design by contract in my latest C# application and wanted to have syntax akin to: public string Foo() { set { Assert.IsNotNull(value); Assert.IsTrue(value.Contains("bar")); _foo = value; } } I know I can get static methods like this from a unit test framework, but I wanted to know if something like this was already built-in to the language or if there was already some kind of framework floating around. I can write my own Assert functions, just don't want to reinvent the wheel.

  • Can Cython compile to an EXE?

    - by ThantiK
I know what Cythons purpose is. It's to write compilable C extensions in a Python-like language in order to produce speedups in your code. What I would like to know (and can't seem to find using my google-fu) is if Cython can somehow compile into an executable format since it already seems to break python code down into C. I already use Py2Exe, which is just a packager, but am interested in using this to compile down to something that is a little harder to unpack (Anything packed using Py2EXE can basically just be extracted using 7zip which I do not want) It seems if this is not possible my next alternative would just be to compile all my code and load it as a module and then package that using py2exe at least getting most of my code into compiled form, right?

  • Taking learning into account in a development process

    - by Thiago
How to deal with the fact that you don't know the language/framework in a development process? For instance, suppose a group of Java developers are about to start a .NET project, they don't know the platform well and might end up finding solutions that the framework already solves or solves better. The sort of questions I have are: which are the best practices in this case? Is RTFM before going on a good pratice? When should one stop RTFM and start asking/searching/playing? Is not RTFM and just searching/asking/playing a good practice? What about estimatives? I'd like to hear from your experience :-)

  • Include a c# file in aspx page

    - by BeraCim
Hi all: I have an aspx page that has a @Page directive which points to a c# class. e.g. <@ Page Language="C#" EnableSessionState="true" ValidateRequest="False" Inherits="MyClass" %> MyClass extends Page, which is the code behind class for that aspx page. Now I want to add another class to the aspx page. This class does some processing and will redirect the user to another page if certain conditions are met. It will be called before the above directive. I tried adding another @Page directive, but gotten an unknown error (literally). I'm thinking that there can only be one code behind class per aspx page so I got the error when I added another one. Googling such question didnt really help me with the answer. So, how do I add another c# class to the same aspx page? Thanks.

  • 2d terrain generation in real time

    - by Skoder
Hey, I'm trying to create a game similar to this (Note:When you click 'play', there are SFX in the game which you can't seem to turn off, so you may want to check volume). In particular, I'm interested in knowing how the 'infinite' landscape is generated. Are there any tutorials/articles describing this? I came across procedural generation, but I'm not quite sure what topics I should be looking for (or if it's even procedural generation). (I'm using C#, but I don't mind the language as I assume the theory behind it remains the same) Thanks for any suggestions

  • What should I learn after HTML and CSS?

    - by Ryan B
I am 5 days into learning how to make my website, flying through my HTML & CSS book and having fun. I’m starting to consider what to order next. I’m not sure what to study next, so please give me some advice if you can. My end goal is to create a site that has a lot of the functionality that www.edufire.com and similar sites have, just for example. I think I’m learning well with the Head First Series, and the style will probably serve me well as an intro to programming. However, I don't think the books dive too deeply into any 1 subject. I could order: A: Head First Programming: A Learner’s Guide to Programming Using the Python Language B: Head First Javascript C: Head First PHP & MySQL D: a different programming book or E: another CSS or design book to solidify my basic HTML & CSS skills Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • JavaScript-like Object in Python standard library?

    - by David Wolever
Quite often, I find myself wanting a simple, "dump" object in Python which behaves like a JavaScript object (ie, its members can be accessed either with .member or with ['member']). Usually I'll just stick this at the top of the .py: class DumbObject(dict): def __getattr__(self, attr): return self[attr] def __stattr__(self, attr, value): self[attr] = value But that's kind of lame, and there is at least one bug with that implementation (although I can't remember what it is). So, is there something similar in the standard library? And, for the record, simply instanciating object doesn't work: obj = object() obj.airspeed = 42 Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 1, in AttributeError: 'object' object has no attribute 'airspeed' Thanks, David

  • Programmer's editor or IDE for C code

    - by Yktula
I feel like this question has been repeated here, but I couldn't find it. What open-source programmer's editor or IDE is best for writing code in C? A GUI and integration with Clang for static code analysis or git for version control would be convenient, but aren't necessary. I would ideally use two editors: one feature-filled IDE and one with a small memory footprint, but editors like jEdit, Geany, Diakonos, nano, etc. don't satisfy many of my needs, which include: Good support for refactoring and code completion. Extensibility in C or a "modern" scripting language (i.e. Ruby or Python) Relatively good performance and lack of bloated-ness

  • Wanting a simple overview on how to connect to a SQLite database in Cocoa/Objective-C

    - by Jesse
Hi, everyone. I've been experimenting with Cocoa and Objective-C programming on the Mac for a few months now, and I am wanting to start developing applications that manage large amounts of data. The trouble is, I'm not really sure where to start with databases. I have a good background in Java programming with SQLite. I've read a bit about CoreData and I haven't been able to find any good resources for just manually connecting to the database. I'm looking for recommendations. Should I try CoreData, and if so, can anyone recommend a good tutorial for someone new to the language? Or, should I try to manually connect and query an SQLite database somehow, and, if so, any tutorials? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Why the good append syntax is so ugly, asks python newbie

    - by Cawas
Now following my series of "python newbie questions" and based on another question. Go to http://python.net/~goodger/projects/pycon/2007/idiomatic/handout.html#other-languages-have-variables and scroll down to "Default Parameter Values". There you can find the following: def bad_append(new_item, a_list=[]): a_list.append(new_item) return a_list def good_append(new_item, a_list=None): if a_list is None: a_list = [] a_list.append(new_item) return a_list So, question here is: why is the "good" syntax over a known issue ugly like that in a programming language that promotes "elegant syntax" and "easy-to-use"? Why not just something in the definition itself, that the "argument" name is attached to a "localized" mutable object like: def better_append(new_item, a_list=[].local): a_list.append(new_item) return a_list I'm sure there would be a better way to do this syntax, but I'm also almost positive there's a good reason to why it hasn't been done. So, anyone happens to know why?

  • How to get hold of the current NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration instance.

    - by Sandor Drieënhuizen
My C# project has repositories that are instantiated using dependency injection. One of the repository methods needs access to the NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration instance (to generate the database schema) that was returned when initializing NHibernate. I cannot pass the configuration to the repository however, because that would break the persistence ignorance principle -- I really don't want to expose any implementation details through the repository interface. So what I'm looking for is a way of getting hold of the current NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration instance from within my repository. I have no trouble getting hold of the current session, it's just the configuration that I cannot get hold of.

  • WPF Application Typing in Custom TextBox CPU Jumping from 3 to 80 percent

    - by azamsharp
I have created a RichTextBox called SharpTextBox which indicates and limits the number of characters that can be typed in it. The implementation is shown in the following link: http://www.highoncoding.com/Articles/673_Creating_SharpRichTextBox_for_Live_Character_Count_in_WPF.aspx Anyway when I start typing in the TextBox it goes from 3% to 78%. The TextBox updates the Label control which shows the number of characters remaining for the count. How can I increase the performance of the textbox? UPDATE: I read there seems to be some problem with the TextRange.Text property which kills performance.

  • OpenCL: does it play well with OpenMP, can I connect other languages to it, etc.

    - by Cem Karan
The 1.0 spec for OpenCL just came out a few days ago (Spec is here) and I've just started to read through it. I want to know if it plays well with other high performance multiprocessing APIs like OpenMP (spec) and I want to know what I should learn. So, here are my basic questions: If I am already using OpenMP, will that break OpenCL or vice-versa? Is OpenCL more powerful than OpenMP? Or are they intended to be complementary? Is there a standard way of connecting an OpenCL program to a standard C99 program (or any other language)? What is it? Does anyone know if anyone is writing an OpenCL book? I'm reading the spec, but I've found books to be more helpful.

  • How do I prepare myself for a summer of working on Python using Linux environment?

    - by Shailesh Tainwala
Hi, I have used just Windows for programming so far. Now, I have an internship starting in two weeks and I will be using just Linux environment with Python programming language. I've installed Ubuntu on my system but have no exposure to shell scripting. I need some advice on how I can quickly learn to use the Linux terminal quickly. Any books or web resources that you can suggest? Also, is there a particular IDE that is generally preferred for Python programming on Linux, or is Vim preferred? How can I best prepare myself for the internship ahead? Thanks for taking the time.

  • Windows Azure Platform, latest version?

    - by Vimvq1987
I searched through internet but found nothing. The whitepapers of Windows Azure Platform say something like that: In its first release, the maximum size of a single database in SQL Azure Database is 10 gigabytes A few things are omitted in the technology’s first release, however, such as the SQL Common Language Runtime (CLR) and support for spatial data. (Microsoft says that both will be available in a future version.) I want to know that Microsoft had updated Windows Azure Platform and removed these limits or not? I decided to post this question here instead of Serverfault.com because it's more relative to programming than administration. Thank you

  • What is better, a STL list or a STL Map for 20 entries, considering order of insertion is as importa

    - by Abhijeet
I have the following scenario. The implementation is required for a real time application. 1)I need to store at max 20 entries in a container(STL Map, STL List etc). 2)If a new entry comes and 20 entries are already present i have to overwrite the oldest entry with the new entry. Considering point 2, i feel if the container is full (Max 20 entries) 'list' is the best bet as i can always remove the first entry in the list and add the new one at last (push_back). However, search won't be as efficient. For only 20 entries, does it really make a big difference in terms of searching efficiency if i use a list in place of a map? Also considering the cost of insertion in map i feel i should go for a list? Could you please tell what is a better bet for me ?

  • vlc python bindings - how to receive keyboard input?

    - by itsadok
I'm trying to use VLC's python bindings to create my own little video player. The demo implementation is quite simple and nice, but it requires all the keyboard commands to be typed into the console from which the script was run. Is there any way I can handle keyboard input also when the video player itself has focus? Specifically, I care about controlling the video while in fullscreen mode. Perhaps there's a way to keep the keyboard focus in the console (or maybe another window) while showing the video? I'm using Windows XP, if that has any relevance.

  • How do I localize the jQuery DatePicker?

    - by Thomas Eyde
I really need a localized dropdown calendar. An English calendar doesn't exactly communicate excellence on a Norwegian website ;-) I have experimented with the jQuery DatePicker, their website says it can be localized, however that doesn't seem to work. I am using ASPNET.MVC, and I really want to stick to one javascript library. In this case jQuery. The ajax toolkit calendar would be acceptable, if only it too would display Norwegian names. Update: Awesome! I see I am missing the language files, a not so minor detail :-)

  • Extract string from string using Regex

    - by stacker
I want to extract MasterPage value directive from a view page. I want the fastest way to do that, taking into account a very big aspx pages, and a very small ones. I think the best way is to do that with two stages: Extract the page directive section from the view (using Regex): <%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" %> Then, extract the value inside MasterPageFile attribute. The result needs to be: ~/Views/Shared/Site.Master. Can I have help from someone to implement this? I badly want to use only regex, but I don't Regex expert. Another thing, Do you think that Regex is the fastest way to do this?
