Ruby on Rails Foreigner plugin not working for SQL Server

Well, now that I've finally got my stupid ODBC stuff configured, I took a schema.rb file that I dumped from a Postgres database and did a db:schema:load on it in a Rails project configured for SQL Server. Well, it sets up all the schema in the SQL Server database except for a minor detail: No foreign keys are created. The rake command doesn't show any errors and does say it is adding foreign keys. But they don't actually get added. This is the last bit from the command: -- add_foreign_key("workhistoryform", "form", {:name=>"workhistoryform_form_rid_fkey", :column=>"form_rid", :primary_key=>"form_rid"}) -> 0.0002s -- initialize_schema_migrations_table() -> 0.0092s -- assume_migrated_upto_version(0) -> 0.0942s [earlz@earlzarch avp_msql_migrations]$ So what is the problem? Does the Foreigner plugin not work in SQL Server? If it didn't I'd expect to see an error or something...

On-screen keyboard not appearing when editing text fields in a UIWebView

I have a web view which displays a simple login form, containing username and password fields. However when the user clicks in one of the text fields, although the cursor appears in the text field, the on-screen keyboard does not appear. I've tried registering for UIKeyboardWillShowNotifications notifications and I see this notification arrive, however the keyboard doesn't actually appear on the screen. I've also tried sending the web view to the back of the view hierarchy and changing it's frame so it doesn't occupy the whole screen. However neither of these measures have solved the problem. What would people recommend trying next?

I have a dropdownbox (percent), a input box(price) and a input box (total) When you select a percent from the dropdown, it multiplies the value of the selected dropdown times the price value and input the result in the total input box. This works well with one input box, but what I am trying to do is to use asp and when you select a percent from the drop down box, it will calcualate the rest of the total fields. How to have a PHP Website tool with a version check

Hi, So I work on a small php website tool that a few people use and what I'm looking to have added is a little version checker in it. The tool is normally hosted by others on different servers/domains/whatever have you so I'm having a bit of a trouble figuring out how I can accomplish this and do so in the best possible method. So what I'm looking to do is have a webpage that just has a number on it which is the latest version. Lets say 3.2.2 is displayed on www.myawesomephptool.com/version.html in some way shape or form . Now on their installation when they open up their admin page it pulls in that 3.2.2 as the latest version to see if they are on that version. So trying to keep it simple on requirements too. Hi What was that "wpf trigger events after a few Milli-seconds" ;) Let me explain about that: I have a wpf form with few controls. some of these control over-writing template. for example a textblock with an effect will be trigger on Mouse-Enter event and change color of foreground to something else. But after running program when mouse enter on textBloc, it takes a few Milli-seconds until Mouse-enter event triggers. also all control or better say all control which use mouse-events have this problem. How solve this problem???

c# memory allocation and deallocation patterns

Since C# uses Garbage Collection. When is it necessary to use .Dispose to free the memory? I realize there are a few situations so I'll try to list the ones I can think of. If I close a Form that contains GUI type object, are those objects dereferenced and therefore will be collected? If I create a local object using new should I .Dispose of it before the method exits or just let the GC take care of it? What is good practice in this case? Are there any times in which forcing a GC is understandable? Are events collected by the GC when it's object is collected?

I've noticed some really odd results form vm_stat on OSX 10.6. According to this, its barely hitting the cache. Searches of pretty much everywhere I could think of turn up little to explain why the rate is so low. I asked a few friends and they're seeing the same thing. What gives and how can I make it better? How to make TWebBrower ignore accelerator chars of others controls?

I have a TWebBrowser placed on a form with the designMode enabled. Bellow the browser I have a close button with the Caption setted to 'Clos&e'. When I am editing the contents of a document inside the WebBrowser and I press the key E the button close is called. It appears that it is treating TWebBrowser like other controls that don't handle keys (e.g. TButton). How can I solve this? Thanks in advance.

ASP.NET MVC SSL POST Error

I have a Logon page in a MVC (1.0) application that I am securing with SSL, I have an attribute that inspects the request for the page and redirects to a https uri when it is requested with http. This all works, however when I post the form content i get the following error: The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter 'rememberMe' of non-nullable type 'System.Boolean' for method 'System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult LogOn(System.String, System.String, Boolean, System.String)' in 'DAC.US.Web.Portal.Controllers.AccountController'. To make a parameter optional its type should be either a reference type or a Nullable type. Parameter name: parameters here is the controller code... // // GET: /Account/LogOn [RequiresSSL] public ActionResult LogOn(string ReturnUrl) { if (TempData["Message"] != null) ViewData["Message"] = TempData["Message"]; TempData["Message"] = null; ViewData["ReturnUrl"] = ReturnUrl ?? Hi All I have a custom module I made for Magento. From the admin, there is a multi-select list of store products. The selected products from this are output in the form of a comma separated list of SKU's - for example: // Get Featured Products from list $configData = Mage::getStoreConfig('featured_products'); $featuredlist = $configData['settings']['featuredlist']; This gives the output in the following format if I < ?php echo $featuredlist ?: cn,asc,ken,steve,nine,ecco,ana Is it possible to output a collection from a category in the same way, as a comma separated list of SKU's? However in the event that the class hierarchy is likely to change, I have been using the uncommented form, until recently. It appears that in the call to the super constructor for B in the above hierarchy, that B.__init__ is called again, self.__class__ is actually C, not B as I had always assumed. Is there some way in Python-2.x that I can overcome this, and maintain proper MRO when calling super constructors without actually naming the current class?

I have a field in a form to state the time duration of an event. Say, the event is to last 15 mins. So the field will have the following value: 00:15 If it is to last 1 hour: 01:00, etc. How can I create a Joda Duration object with the string "HH:MM"? Looking at Joda Time home page, it mentions that it is possible to create a Duration object from specified object using ConverterManager and DurationConverter respectively. My question is, how can I implement the above interfaces so that I can create a Duration object by passing the a "4:30" parameter? Thanks in advance, Lucas

I'm attempting to display multiple records, with each record displaying its own selection box. I would like to submit this form and pass a hash, having the Add.id function as the key of the hash, and the selection box option pass as the information in the hash. ASP. Net MVC and RegisterClientScriptBlock alternative

I currently have a web form aspx page that calls RegisterClientScriptBlock. This sends down message text that I use for client side validation e.g. <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ var c_errorMessages = { RequiredField : "* Mandatory field" }; //]]> </script> The values are generated on the server side based on culture and resource files. I believe you cannot use RegisterClientScriptBlock with MVC. Any ideas on how I can achieve this with MVC?

How to send and receive file on Silverlight application?

Hi. I am writting Silverlight client-server application. Server part is WinForm application an client part is Silverlight. I use TCP connction. I use sockets for sending and receiving information. But now I need to send a file, size of which may be greater then 1 Mb, so I can't use socets to send that file as bite stream. I wont to send that file form server and receive it on client Silverlight application. How can I do that? Thanks.

Opposite of nl2br? Is it str_replace?

So the function nl2br is handy. Except in my web app, I want to do the opposite, interpret line breaks as new lines, since they will be echoed into a pre-filled form. str_replace can take <br /> and replace it with whatever I want, but if I put in \n, it echoes literally a backslash and an n. It only works if I put a literal line break in the middle of my script, and break the indentation (so there are no trailing space). See: <?=str_replace('<br />',' ',$foo)?> Am I missing escape characters? I think I tried every combination...

How do i handle jcupload and no flash?

I am using http://www.jcupload.com/ (basic) to upload files. I am considering having a friend write a more custom version or to do magic with ajax; so the solution should be able to work without that. With jcupload i include css, a script and write <div id="jcupload_content"></div> in my html and i am done. Problem is, with no flash i get an object box. Instead i would like is an iframe or a html form to upload the file. How do i do this? Should i detect flash from javascript and overload the div myself if no flash is available? How do i detect if flash is available? with jquery i know i can write something like $('#jcupload_content').innerHtml = blah; How do i handle the flash part?

fastercsv parsing to int or other into ActiveRecord

I'm currently importing a CSV into an activerecord element but can't choose to parse the elements as say ints or decimals on a case by case basis using fastercsv. I can either choose to parse everything as an int or the other, or all as strings. I need to parse some columns as ints, some as decimals and some as strings. Otherwise, is there a way after I've parsed everything as strings to convert and update individual elements in the activerecord to the new form? Say parse values in as strings then convert certain values to ints, others to decs, etc?

load images dynamically on scroll in blackberry

How to display images in the form of pages where only one page is displayed at a time on blackberry screen. On scrolling down subsequent images will load at run time. So that loading of images do not consume time at startup. Edit: I am using loadimage function which loads images from blackberry device memory which loads images from specified path and resizing them.As number of images increases, it increases the startup time during opening of window.There is an in-built application(Media) in blackberry phone, where images load without taking any extra time. My idea is to display particular number of images which fit to the blackberry screen. As user scroll down to bottom of screen, application will then load and display more images. So my question is how to detect when user reached to bottom of blackberry screen and display one more row images.

I am getting the following error while sending mail by click of a button in MS access form I am using sendObject to send mail using vba code. The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'smtp', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D Points to note: I am able to send and receive mails in my outlook; Problem is only when send mails through VBA access application.(Means it is not a outlook client configuration problem) When i copy paste the Vba application to another PC, i could successfully send emails without any error. (means this is not a vba access application problem) Please help.
