  Hi, I am new to Spring webflow and now I am trying the example in Spring recipes book and I know this is a basic question. • Feature element repeatedly added with every feature activation/deactivation

  This is a very minor behavior when compared with the entire scope, but it is one that I'd like to put a stop to. I have created a very, very simple SharePoint Feature. It has two elements in its manifest: an aspx webpart page, and an elements xml. I'll paraphrase my elements xml, which just adds a module, below. <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <Module Name="Pass" Url="" Path=""> <File Url="pasq.aspx" NavBarHome="True" Type="Ghostable"> <AllUsersWebPart WebPartZoneID="Left" WebPartOrder="0"> <![CDATA[ WARGH THIS PART DOESN'T MATTER FOR THIS QUESTION! ]]> </AllUsersWebPart> </File> </Module> </Elements> Now, on the first time I deploy and activate this feature, it works properly. But if I have to deactivate and then reactivate the feature in order to fix some properties in the webpart, then I find myself with a second webpart on the page. Naturally, each similar cycle will just add more and more. I understand that a new webpart must be created in order to employ the changes I just made, but why is the old webpart still on the page? Can I make this older webpart go away automatically as part of the feature activation/deactivation process without needing to employ a Receiver class?

• Error in Visual Studio 2008 with SSRS 2005 report projects

  Has anyone found a good workaound for opening or editing an SSRS 2005 report project with Visual Studio 2008 yet? Will the SQL server 2008 tools be the migration path for these report projects in the future? I really dont want to have to keep VS2005 installed forever just to update SSRS reports. After an upgrade to VS2008 an existing solution that contains a VS2005 SSRS reports project will not open. From what I understand the SQL Server 2005 tools dont know about VS2008 so they will not integrate into the IDE. So currently I switch back to VS2005 for any updates to this project, and get an error loading project message everytime I open the solution in 2008. EDIT on solution: I was able to install the shared component for BDIS from the SQL2008 disc and am now able to open and update my SSRS 2005 .rdl project items within VS2008. Note to others: If you edit your SSRS 2005 reports in VS2008 and re-save you will not be able to edit them in VS2005 anymore, or deploy them to a 2005 server. They are up-converted to 2008 report files.

• Enable DOM Access for Silverlight Web Part in Sharepoint 2010

  I am hosting a silverlight 3.0 control on my Sharepoint 2010 page. I am using the built-in SilverlightWebPart web part, where I have provided the path for .xap file. Its displaying properly, but when I try to access the System.Windows.Browser, its throwing an error. My code is: public static string GetQueryString(string key) { try { var documentQueryString = (Dictionary<string, string>)System.Windows.Browser.HtmlPage.Document.QueryString; if (documentQueryString.ContainsKey(key)) { return documentQueryString[key].ToString(); } } catch (Exception ex) { return ex.Message; } return string.Empty; } The error I am getting is: The DOM/scripting bridge is disabled. How do I enable this? I know if I host this in a ASP.NET page, I can add the param - <param name="enablehtmlaccess" value="true"/>. I have tried putting this webpart in a "content editor web part", and I have embedded the object tag to call the .xap file and its working totally fine. I need to make it work using the built-in Silverlight web part.

• can't figure out serving static images in django dev environment

  I've read the article (and few others on the subject), but still can't figure out how to show an image unless a link to a file existing on a web-service is hard-coded into the html template. I've got in urls.py: ... (r'^galleries/(landscapes)/(?P<path>.jpg)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': settings.MEDIA_URL}), ... where 'landscapes' is one of the albums I'm trying to show images from. (There are several more of them.) In views.py it calls the template with code like that: ... <li><img src=160.jpg alt='' title='' /></li> ... which resolves the image link in html into: http://127.0.0.1:8000/galleries/landscapes/160.jpg In settings.py I have: MEDIA_ROOT = 'C:/siteURL/galleries/' MEDIA_URL = 'http://some-good-URL/galleries/' In file system there is a file C:/siteURL/galleries/landscapes/160.jpg and I do have the same file at http://some-good-URL/galleries/landscapes/160.jpg No matter what I use in urls.py — MEDIA_ROOT or MEDIA_URL (with expectation to have either local images served or from the web-server) — I get following in the source code in the browser: <li><img src=160.jpg /></li> There is no image shown in the browser. What am I doing wrong?

"system-engine.com" and "dev.system-engine.com" are separate servers. I cannot seem to get it to work.   We have .net application installed on production server. It is using .net FrameWork 3.0 on windows server 2003 with RAM 4 GB. But there is a problem in application while running sometimes it throws system out of memory exception. I am very frustrating with this. Also I am unable to simulate the issue. • PInvoke Unbalances the stack

  Good afternoon, I have been working on a dll that can use CORBA to communicate to an application that is network aware. The code works fine if I run it as a C++ console application. However, I have gotten stuck on exporting the methods as a dll. The methods seems to export fine, and if I call a method with no parameters then it works as expected. I'm hung up on passing a C# string to a C++ method. My C++ method header looks like this: bool __declspec(dllexport) SpiceStart(char* installPath) My C# DLL import code is as follows: [DllImportAttribute("SchemSipc.dll", CharSet=CharSet.Ansi)] private static extern bool SpiceStart(string installPath); I call the method like so: bool success = SpiceStart(@"c:\sedatools"); The call to SpiceStart throws the exception "PInvokeStackImbalance", which "is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature." Does anyone have any suggestions? If I remove the char* and string from the parameters, then the method runs just fine. However, I'd like to be able to pass the installation path of the application to the dll from C#. Thanks in advance, Giawa

• PHP4 including file during session

  I am trying to put second language on my webpage. I decided to use different files for different languages told apart by path - language/pl/projects.ln contains Polish text, language/en/projects.ln - English. Those extensions are just to tell language files from other, the content is simple php: $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["title"] = "MATERIALY"; $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["short_text"] = "Jakis tam tekst na temat materialów"; $lang["desc"]["services"]["title"] = "USLUGI"; $lang["desc"]["services"]["short_text"] = "Jakis tam tekst na temat uslóg"; And then on the index page I use it like so: session_start(); if (isset($_SESSION["lang"])) { $language = $_SESSION["lang"]; } else { $language = "pl"; } include_once("language/$language/projects.ln"); print $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["title"]; The problem is that if the session variable is not set everything works fine and array item content is displayed but once I change and set $_SESSION["lang"] nothing is displayed. I tested if the include itself works as it should by putting print "sth"; at the beginning of projects.ln file and that works all right both with $_SESSION["lang"] set and unset. Please help.

• IIS 6 with wildcard mapping and UNC virtual directory problem

  Hi. On our production servers (win 2003 with IIS6 and load balanced with an F5 BIGIP), we have a problem when introducing wildcardmapping on IIS6. We use .net Framework 3.5 SP1. The issue manifests itself as by the server only sometimes serving the images stored on a virtual directory pointing to a UNC path. Sometimes the images are displayed, and sometimes not. Removing the wildcard mapping solved this problem. I will need wildcard mapping on the server for future features, so any help/pointers to if this is a known problem will be very helpful. In advance, thanks for any help. • Is NUnit broken with Windows7 for C++/CLI?

  NUnit is failing in C++/CLI with a System.IO.FileNotFoundException. I have tried my own freshly-created project, the C++/CLI sample included with NUnit and the one from CodeProject How to use NUnit to test native C++ code using Visual Studio 2008sp1 with NUnit 2.5.5 as well as 2.4.8. I installed 2.4.8 just on C:\ in case there was something weird about paths with spaces such as Program Files (x86). I have no problems with a C# sample using NUnit. in NUnit GUI, all of these C++/CLI projects encounter the same problem, on attempting to open the projects. I'd really like to use NUnit but for now have had to go back to standard Microsoft tests System.IO.FileNotFoundException... • Getting the current EnvDTE or IServiceProvider when NOT coding an Addin

  I am coding up some design time code. I want to use this snippet: (Found here) var dte = (EnvDTE.DTE) GetService(typeof(EnvDTE.DTE)); if (dte != null) { var solution = dte.Solution; if (solution != null) { string baseDir = Path.GetDirectoryName(solution.FullName); } } Problem is that this does not compile. (GetService is not a known method call) I tried adding Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell (and Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.10.0) but it did not help. In looking around on the internet I found that you need a IServiceProvider to call this. But all the examples that show how to get an IServiceProvider use a EnvDTE. So, to get the current EnvDTE I need IServiceProvider. But to get an IServiceProvider I need an EnvDTE. (There is a hole in my bucket...) So, here is my question: In a normal WPF Application, how can I get the current instance of EnvDTE? NOTE: I am not looking for any old instance of EnvDTE. I need the one for my current Visual Studio instance (I run 3-4 instances of Visual Studio at a time.)

• Entity Framework: insert with one-to-one reference

  Hi 'overflow! I'm having a bit trouble inserting into a mssql database using Entity Framework. There's two tables that I want to insert into, where one of table 1s fields is a foreign key in table2. This is the code I have so far: Media media = null; foreach(POI p in poiList) { media = new Media() { Path = p.ImagePath, Title = p.Title }; if (media != null && !context.Media.Any(me => me.Title == p.ImageTitle)) { context.AddToMedia(media); context.SaveChanges(); } PointOfInterest poi = new PointOfInterest() { Altitude = 2000.0, ID = p.ID, Latitude = p.Latitude, Longitude = p.Longitude, LatitudeRoute = p.LatitudeRoute, LongitudeRoute = p.LongitudeRoute, Description = p.Description, Title = p.Title, DefaultImageID = media.ID, }; context.AddToPointOfInterest(poi); } context.SaveChanges(); The following gives me this error: An object with the same key already exists in the ObjectStateManagerAn object with the same key already exists in the ObjectStateManager I'm still learning how to use the entity framework, so I don't even know if this would be the right approach to insert into two referenced tables. Can anyone enlighten me on this? :) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

• PyDev and Django: PyDev breaking Django shell?

  I've set up a new project, and populated it with simple models. (Essentially I'm following the tut.) Then, I try to do the same thing in Eclipse (using a Django project that is composed of the same files.) • Debugging Cactus Tests in Eclipse

  Side note: This is inherited code, I didn't do any of the setup and am new to the project. I'm trying to set up remote debugging in Eclipse for these unit tests that use Cactus. I've read around a bit (but I can't seem to find any REAL information how to set this up). Closest I've found is here (http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/CactusInWTP/CactusInWTP.html), but it just says to Debug - Debug on Server, but nowhere does it say where the debug port is set or anything, and I can't find anything on how to enable this, set it. Just asking to see if anyone has set this up before, it would really help stepping through the code rather than just logging. The plugin (http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/integration/eclipse/runner_plugin.html) Looks promising, but I also don't even know where to download it, it doesn't link to a location -.- The project uses ant, cactus, and I'm using Eclipse. • saving WPF InkCanvas to a JPG - image is getting cropped

  I have a WPF InkCanvas control I'm using to capture a signature in my application. • Merge Word Documents (Office Interop & .NET), Keeping Formatting

  I'm having some difficulty merging multiple word documents together using Microsoft Office Interop Assemblies (Office 2007) and ASP.NET 3.5. I'm able to merge the documents, but some of my formatting is missing (namely the fonts and images). • Sphinx PHP search

  I'm doing a Sphinx search but turning up some really weird results. Any help is appreciated. So for example if I type "50", I get: 50 Cent 50 Lions 50 Foot Wave, etc. This is great, but when I search "50 Ce", I get: Ryczace Dwudziestki Spisek Bernhard Gal Cowabunga Go-Go And other crazy results. Also when I search for "50 Cent", the correct result is at the top, but then random results below. Any ideas why?   Hello I have a sign up form that is displayed to all new site visitors. If a user fills out the form, the next time they visit the site, I would like to display a "welcome back" message where the form would usually sit. I am trying to do this via the jquery cookie plugin (http://plugins.jquery.com/project/Cookie).
