  • Sending a variable from a processing page back to the original PHP page

    - by user1228907
So on a PHP page (page 1) I have some HTML, including : <form action="create_subject.php" method="post" > Which goes to a processing page (page 2) containing MySQL which will be executed if there aren't any errors. If there are (checked by validation on the processing page (page 2)) or aren't, certain variables are set, including this one for if it's successful : if (mysql_affected_rows() == 1){ $success = 1; redirect_to("new_subject.php"); } However, how would I include $success into the URL without putting it in as : redirect_to("new_subject.php?success=1"); I can't do this as I need to do if statements, and it's only PHP on "page 2" so I can't do an if statement inside redirect_to("new_subject.php"); I know I could do ... } else { redirect_to("new_subject.php?success=1"); } But this would seem mundane and non-semantic especially as I have several variables to proccess.

  • document.forms.gallery_form.submit is not a function

    - by Keene Maverick
    I swear, I have this exact thing working on another page. I'm such a javascript noob it's embarrassing... function delete_gallery() { var gallery = document.getElementById('gallery_id').value; var form = document.getElementById('gallery_form'); form.setAttribute('action', 'index.php?action=delete&section=galleries&id='+gallery); document.forms['gallery_form'].submit(); } Inspecting the element shows that it's updating the action correctly : <form method="post" action="index.php?action=delete&amp;section=galleries&amp;id=12" name="gallery_form" id="gallery_form"><input type="hidden" value="12" id="gallery_id" name="gallery_id"><p>Name: <input type="text" name="name" value="Woo"></p><p>Description:<br><textarea name="description">Dee</textarea><input type="hidden" value="2" name="artist"></p><p><input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submit"> </p></form> Here's the button I use to call the function, it's in a table below the form: <button onclick="delete_gallery()" type="button">Delete Gallery</button>

  • Google Maps API v3.9: Blurry custom markers when zooming

    - by Mike
So it appears that Google have fixed the blurry map issue with the 3.9 / 3.10 API, which is great. But there's a new one with custom markers. As soon as you zoom in one level, the custom markers become corrupted / blurry. They rectify themselves if zooming out, although the process of zooming out also makes the markers slightly blurry. The 3.8 API does not exhibit this problem with custom markers. Here's a picture illustrating the problem (I suggest you open the image in a new tab; the blurriness isn't as easily visible when the image is scaled to fit this post). The blurring is most noticeable with the straight lines of the paper crane marker: I've had a prod through the HTML, but I can't really tell how the markers are placed on the map. But I thought that I'd put this issue out there for anyone who has experienced similar, or if anyone has any thoughts on how this can be resolved, save waiting to see if it's a glitch in the API.

  • how to exchange variables between extern iframe and site

    - by helle
hey guys, for developement reasons (working with facebook-connect) i put the connect iframe in an iframe. on that way i am able to work on the connect-thing independent of my ip and don't have to develop on the live-server. the iframe holding the connect-button iframe is on my server, accessing the same db-server as the developer version (developer version is running on localhsot). as far as good ... BUT how can i let the parent site know, that the user has connected, so that i get his profile-picture displayd as reaction to this? how can i react in generally on an action/event/JS in an iframe? is there a way? can the iframe post data to the parent site? like a time-stamp and fb_userid? if the iframe stuff doesn't work ... i thougt of saving the ip to the fb_userid (to db) and check matches ... but i don't like this idea.

  • Server.Transfer - What could be the issue here?

    - by Younes
We have implemented a website with the ability for the user to post his actioncode. This then will be checked by the code and when the user has a price the website will Server.Transfer him to another page. The strange thing here is that the user information will be submitted to the database and the actioncode can't be used again. Here we go... I have one user in this database that is inserted twice very fast after the first time he was added. This are the timestamps: 2010-04-23 07:54:41.133 2010-04-23 07:54:41.417 The insert statement is only called once from the code and the user gets Server.Transfered to the Price.aspx page where he sees what price he won. How can it be that this happened? I'm guessing the user hitted F5 but then he had to be very very fast... Thx!

  • How to create a lookup column that targets a Doc Lib and uses the 'Name' of the document?

    - by stlawrence
How do you create a lookup column to a Document Library that uses the 'Name' of the document as the lookup value? I found a blog post that recommends adding another custom field like "FileName" and then using a item reciever to populate the custom field with the value from the Name field but that seems cheesy. Link to the blog in case people are interested: http://blogs.msdn.com/pranab/archive/2008/01/08/sharepoint-2007-moss-wss-issue-with-lookup-column-to-doc-lib-name-field.aspx I've got a bunch of custom document content types that I dont want to clutter with a work around that should really work anyway.

  • Is html/javascript equivalent to as3/flex?

    - by DJ.
Hello my fellow coders, As i notice for a while now (like everybody else in the industry), the RIA market is shifting from AS3/Flex to HTML/Javascript. What i would like to know is? Is html/javascript as powerfull as as3/Flex or are they entirely different. With other words can i build the exact same applictions with HTML(4/5) and Javascript as i can do with AS3/Flex? I'm not looking for the speed comparison? or bashing one technology over the other? I just want to know if is good for me to dive into javascript, JQuery...... PS. If there is a nother post on stackoverflow with the exacte question. please share the link. Thanks. Thank you.

  • Firebug: how do I see GET parameters?

    - by AP257
I'm using Firebug on Firefox 3.6.3 for Mac. I want to use Firebug to view GET and POST parameters being passed. I have Firebug open at the Net XHR tab. The panel says 'Net panel activated'. Yet if I then go to google.com and do a search, nothing appears in the XHR tab. (All the HTML, CSS etc appears fine in the other tabs.) Where can I see the GET parameters being passed to Google in Firebug?

  • In the generic programming/TMP world what exactly is a model / a policy and a "concept" ?

    - by Hassan Syed
I'd like to know the precise yet succinct definitions of these three concepts in one place. The quality of the answer should depend on the following two points. Show a simple code snippet to show how and what the concept/technique is used for. Be simple enough to understand so that a programmer without any exposure to this area can grasp it. Note: There are probably many correct answers since each concept has many different facets. If there are a lot of good answers I will eventually turn the question into CW and aggregate the answers. -- Post Accept Edit -- Boost has a nice article on generic programming concepts

  • jQuery.Form wont submit

    - by kim
    Im´trying to submit a form without refreshing the page, but I´m having a problem. When I click submit the page refreshes and anothing gets posted. Here is the code, what am I doing wrong? (I´m a newbie) jQuery 1.4.2 and the jQuery Form Plugin 2.43 is present. tnx $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#output2', url: https://graph.facebook.com/<%=fbUid%>/feed, type: post, clearForm: true // clear all form fields after successful submit //dataType: null // 'xml', 'script', or 'json' (expected server response type) //resetForm: true // reset the form after successful submit // $.ajax options can be used here too, for example: //timeout: 3000 }; // bind to the form's submit event $('#fbPostStatus').submit(function() { // inside event callbacks 'this' is the DOM element so we first // wrap it in a jQuery object and then invoke ajaxSubmit $(this).ajaxSubmit(options); // !!! Important !!! // always return false to prevent standard browser submit and page navigation return false; }); });

  • PHP Sessions Error

    - by Andrei Korchagin
I'm new to PHP sessions and I've come across the following error: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). As well as this one: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent by (output started at somefile:someline). The session_start(); is the very first thing in all of my code. I'm not sure what the problem is. It gave me line numbers but all I do on those lines is start the session. Also - I have a portion of code whose POST action is another PHP page. How can I set a $_SESSION variable pertaining to this page within that action page?

  • JQuery Ajax returned blank data

  • MVC partial page update

    - by GB
Hello, I have an MVC project where I have a form with fields a user can enter and save. On that same page I have a table which shows a brief listing of information that the user just saved. The problem I am having is trying to update only the table after a save and not an entire page refresh. Is this possible in jquery or MVC? If so does anyone have an example. Here is what the action in the controller looks like: public ActionResult RefreshList() { string _employeeID = Request.QueryString["empIDSearch"]; this.ViewData["coursehistorylist"] = _service.ListCoursesByEmpID(_employeeID); return View("CourseHistoryList"); } The function in the view: (and this is where I'm confused on how to update only the table) $.ajax({ url: "/Home/RefreshList", type: "POST", success: function(result) { alert("got here"); }, error: function(xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) { alert(xhr.status + " " + thrownError + " " + ajaxOptions); } }); Thanks.

  • continuous deployment with github pages and GAE python

    - by BPm
I have a site hosted by google app engine. I've pushed all the html files to a github pages repo and what I want to do next is somehow make GAE listen to my github's changes. Like everytime i commit something new, GAE will deploy itself based on the changes. I've heared of drydrop but that was when github pages didn't exist yet. So what should i do next? I've set up a post-receive url , which is my appspot website, through the github's service hooks, added the CNAME file to my repo which contains my appspot url. Not sure if that's necessary. I've googled a lot on this but none really answers my question. or I just don't know the right search term for it. Thanks in advance

  • How to use prepared statements (named parameters) on a php Class

    - by Mohamed Adib Errifai
This is my first post here. I've searched in the site, but inforutunaly no matchs. Anyway, i want to know how to use named parameters on a class. so the pdo basic form is something like. $query = $bdd->prepare('SELECT * FROM table WHERE login = :login AND pww = :pww'); $query->execute(array('login' => $login, 'pww' => $pww)); and i want to integrate this on a class regardless of the number of parameters. Currently, i have this code http://pastebin.com/kKgSkaKt and for parameters, i use somethings like ( which is wrong and vulnerable to injection ) require_once 'classes/Mysql.class.php'; $mysql = new Mysql(); $sql = 'SELECT * FROM articles WHERE id = '.$_GET['id'].' LIMIT 1'; $data = $mysql->select($sql); And Thanks.

  • What scripting language would you use to put text over a generated image ?

    - by Younes
I got this question from my cousin: "What will be the best way to create a similar working website just like: http://www.plakletters.nl". I have looked into the website and think that to start of with i'm gonna help my cousin write a script that loads all fonts installed on the system into a dropdownlist. This dropdownlist will post a font value back to the page and will create images with the input of a user that comes from a textbox. This images will have to be created server side, and I also want to give the users the ability (in the future) to lay their own text over an uploaded image, to see what the result will look like on their own image. I found some information about how to create images using php, I don't know if php can output a list of installed fonts from the system it's running on. What scripting language would you use to get this job done? Keep in mind i would just like to start with outputting some images based on user input using a scripting language.

  • Documented process for using facebook connect for the iPhone to upload photos

    - by Corey Floyd
After looking I did come accross this post on the facebook forums: link They are feeding the facebook object a UIImage. That seems logical, but where is this documented? The API documentation is generalized to all platforms. Where are the iPhone specific requirements for arguments and their data types? Thanks **Update***** I still have not came across any API docs pertaining to Cocoa. I did, however, gather the information I needed by piecing together forum information, Facebook sample code, and some glue. Hopefully they'll issue something a little more concrete over the next few months.

  • Drupal removing javascript from Full HTML link

    - by Jen
I am new to Drupal and am trying to create a node (let's call it child) that will only really be accessed when clicked on from another node (we'll call it parent). When closing the child window, I want to parent window to refresh. Outside of Drupal, that's easy: <a onclick="window.close(); window.opener.location.reload();" href="#">Click to close this window</a> However, when I type this into the body of a node using Full HTML, it still strips the onclick text from my post. How can I include javascript in the body of a node like this? Is there a special module I need. Thanks!
