  I have seen a assembly program written from a book about assemble: assume cs:code code segment dw 0123h,0456h,0789h,0abch,0defh,0fedh,0cbah,0987h mov bx,0 mov ax,0 mov cx,8 s: add ax,cs:[bx] add bx,2 loop s mov ax,4c00h int 21h code ends end This program's function is to add eight numbers. The author compiled this program in the DOS and use the DEBUG to see how this program be loaded. The author use the R command and got that DS = 0B2DH ES = 0B2D SS = 0B3D CS = 0B3D IP = 0000 And then the author said that this program is loaded from the address 0B3D:0000. I'm a confused that why this program is loaded from the address 0B3D:0000? Is this because the existence of the Program Segment Prefix(PSP)? If the answer is the existence of the PSP, what is in the PSP?

  I have a series of queries against a very mega large database, and I have hundreds-of-thousands of ORs in WHERE clauses. What is the best and easiest way to optimize such SQL queries? I found some articles about creating temporary tables and using joins, but I am unsure. I'm new to serious SQL, and have been cutting and pasting results from one into the next.   Hi, I'm having a problem getting the title of an object from my i18n object in Doctrine 1.1.6 / Symfony 1.2 I have the following Doctrine Table method: public function getPlace($place_id, $lang=''){ $q = Doctrine::getTable('Place') ->createQuery('p'); if($lang != '') $q = $q->leftJoin('p.Translation ptr') ->addWhere('ptr.lang = ?', $lang); return $q->addWhere('p.id = ?', $place_id) ->fetchOne(); } Then on the view file if I do $place-getTitle(), it prints the title correctly in the language I wanted. However, if I do $place-getTitle() on an action it returns nothing, I have to do $place-Translation['es']-title to get the title in Spanish. If I work with the default language ('en') $place-getTitle() works. Any idea on how to make $place-getTitle() to work always? thanks!

• Input string was not in correct format.

  Hi Experts, I had a Ribbon like custom control. I created an application using this control. These applications work fine until I change the system number format. They crashes if I change the system number format like below: Current Format = English (United State) Decimal symbol = ',' Digit group symbol = '.' When I run applications, they throw an exception "Input string not in Correct format". . Some other applications specify the Exception's message = "Input string '0,2,0,2' was not a correct format", so I think in Wpf ES's xaml files, we may declare some properties i.e Padding, Margin like "0,2,0,2" = that will cause errors with the system number format above. I have note that this error only occurs in Windows Vista, it does not occurs on Windows XP. I do not know why? • iPhone OpenGL Template is cheating?

  XCode's OpenGL template seems to be cheating to solve this "stretched" viewport problem I've been trying to understand for the last 3 hours. In the iphone "OpenGL ES Application" template, the colorful square that bounces up and down on the screen is not really a square at all! ES1Renderer.m (the ES2 file as well) static const GLfloat squareVertices[] = { -0.5f, -0.33f, 0.5f, -0.33f, -0.5f, 0.33f, 0.5f, 0.33f, }; But it comes out looking square on the device/simulator due to the stretching/squashing effect of a non-square viewport. I tried to fix it by fiddling with glFrustumf() but that doesn't seem to change the aspect ratio. I was able to get things looking good (not-stretched) when I fed glViewport() with a 1:1 widht:height.. But this doesn't seem like the answer because it offsets the viewport placement. What's the right way to correct for this stretching and why doesn't XCode do it that way?

  So I'm writing a program which returns a procedure for some given arithmetic problem, so I wanted to instance a couple of functions to Show so that I can print the same expression I evaluate when I test. The trouble is that the given code matches (-) to the first line when it should fall to the second. {-# OPTIONS_GHC -XFlexibleInstances #-} instance Show (t -> t-> t) where show (+) = "plus" show (-) = "minus" main = print [(+),(-)] returns [plus,plus] Am I just committing a motal sin printing functions in the first place or is there some way I can get it to match properly? edit:I realise I am getting the following warning: Warning: Pattern match(es) are overlapped In the definition of `show': show - = ... I still don't know why it overlaps, or how to stop it.

• Load Globalize cultures with Node.js?

  I'm using jQuery Globalize with Node.js. They have a package.json file so I can simply use it as a module and require it. However, it doesn't load all cultures by default. I was wondering what the proper way to load a culture would be? I could go and do something like require('./node_modules/globalize/lib/cultures/globalize.culture.es-US.js') and load the file directly, but that doesn't seem too elegant. Is there a "proper" way to do this?

  Hi, I am trying to put operations inside the locales to adapt to different languages. For example, in English a billion is 1,000,000,000, however in Spanish a billion is 1,000,000,000,000 so I would like to be able to have the following: en: billion: "You have %{money} billions" es: billion: "Tienes %{money/1000.0} billones" In order to be able to write: I18n.t :billion, :money => whatever And be right for whatever language. However, it seems that I cannot put operations inside the locales' strings. Any hint on how should I be doing this? Maybe my approach is just wrong "philosophically" talking? Thanks all!

• Attach to Property's setter

  I haven't found similiar post so I'm asking this. Let's say I defined somewhere an application wide available static Property (I mean it's not local) and in one class I would like to know when this property is being changed. Apart from aop (transparentproxy etc.) which I think doesn't suit me well here (and I can't add that to project anyway), what are the options here? One solution I can think of, which is probably a very nasty one, is to use some event that would be executed in the setter and just attach it in the class(es) which needs that. Something like: public static event EventHandler CurrentNumberChanged= delegate {}; public static int CurrentNumber { get { return currentNumber; } set { currentNumber = value; CurrentNumberChanged(null, EventArgs.Empty); } } I know it's really unsafe to use such events ( read here ). And since I would use it in asp.net makes it even more ugly. Do you have any advices ?

  I am using the twang package to create propensity scores, which are used as weigtings in a binomial glm using survey::svyglm. The code looks something like this: pscore <- ps(ppci ~ var1+var2+.........., data=dt....) dt$w <- get.weights(pscore, stop.method="es.mean") design.ps <- svydesign(ids=~1, weights=~w, data=dt,) glm1 <- svyglm(m30 ~ ppci, design=design.ps,family=binomial) This produces the following warning: Warning message: In eval(expr, envir, enclos) : non-integer #successes in a binomial glm! Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong ? I wasn't sure if this message would be better on stats.SE, but on balance I thought I would try here first.

• Missing type or namespace name

  This is an odd one, not one I've come across before. My project complies and runs fine if I have my classes in the root folder (Not in App_Code). As soon as I move them into the App_Code folder then it will compile, but running it will bring up the old CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Data' (are you missing an assembly reference?) I don't understand how moving the class(es) to the App_Code folder causes the whole thing to fall apart there? Project target is .Net 4 on VWD 2010 Express

• AJAX Autocomplete appears at a random vertical position, not touching the textbox

  Hi, I am using the AJAX Autocomplete extender for ASP.NET 2. Everything works fine...I am calling a webservice which gets me the values to fill the drop down with after 3 letters are typed into certain es. I have set the maxheight attribute and am using a scrollbar in case there are more entries than would fit that height. However, I notice that in some cases, the drop down appears at a random position on the screen, i.e. rather than connected to the relevant textbox, sometimes it appears with its entries above the textbox, not touching it at all. Sometimes it would have just one entry and it would appear in the middle of the screen vertically above the textbox it is associated to. Is there a reason why this is happening?

  Hi, while my swing app is running I change the size of the screen (e.g. from 1024x768 to 800x600). Is there any event I can listen to to be notified about this? Alternatively I could check the screen size in every couple of second, but the Toolkit.getScreenSize() keeps telling me the old value. How could I get the real screen size after the change? Environment: Linux (tested on SuSE ES 11 and Ubuntu 9.04) I appreciate your help. Marton

• Map wont show rigth in Joomla

  I have the following code of a map using api google, I have tested the code in several html editor and its work perfectly, but when i upload in my web page doesn’t work. The map appears all zoomed in some random point in the ocean. I create an article in Joomla 1.5.20, paste the code. Its shows right in the preview but not in the web page. I disable filtering and use none editor and still won’t work. • II7 integrated mode MVC deploy 404 not found on "non-Index" actions

  Hello. Once deployed parts of my web-application stop working. Index-es on each controller do work, other then that yields 404. I understand that nothing particular should be done in integrated mode. I don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting. Some info: App is using default app pool set to integrated mode. WebApp is done in net framework 3.5. I use default routing model. Along web.config in root there is web.config in /View folder referencing HttpNotFoundHandler. OS is Windows Server 2008. Any help is appreciated. Thx.
