  Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to implement the following: Suppose I have a custom Manager that has about 10 or so BitmapFields layed out in a horizontal manner (similar to a slideshow contained in a HFM ) . What I want to achieve is to be able to move the image HFM via touchEvent horizontally, where a BitmapField would take focus on the left-hand side of the custom Manager. In other words, will I have to give a value to setHorizontalScroll and if so, is it a matter of just incrementing that value when the user makes a left or right touch event. Also, how can I get the focus of a Field within a given position on the screen (i.e. the left-most Field on the HFM) when the HFM is scrolling sideways via touchEvent?

• Justified navigation buttons

  I'm trying to create the primary navigation menu for a website that will have a variable amount of primary menu items. The navigation bar is horizontal and has a width of 738px. I would like to have the leftmost item 18px from the left and the rightmost item 18px from the right edge of the element, with the other menu items spread evenly between them. I'm using a tableless layout. So far I haven't been able to make it work exactly like I want. Setting margin: auto doesn't seem to help, and I can't keep the 18px margin on both sides using a table. One idea was to use text-align: justify but it doesn't justify single lines. Is there a simple or less simple way of doing this, or am I going to have to ask the AD to relax his visual requirements?

• Is it possible to detect a scrollbar release event in GWT?

  I'm building a GWT app where I want to be able to detect when a user releases a scroll bar on one of my ScrollPanels. My use case is that the horizontal scroll bar represents time. Since it's impossible to represent the full range of scrollable time I want to just represent a small window of time with the scroll bar. When the user moves and releases the scroll bar I want to do a smooth recentering where the new center is the release point. I can work out how to do this by building a custom scroll bar widget, but I wanted to check if I was missing some way to do it using a "native" scroll bar first.

  Hi all I have an image in which a text like "VINAYAK 123" is written. The text in the image is at a certain angle, say 30degrees. Now when I extract the labels of the connected components, I get V-1, I-2, N-3, A-4,Y-5,A-6,K-7, 1-8,2-9,3-10( Format: Character- Label No.). Now I rotate the image 30 degrees in the clockwise direction to make the text in the image horizontal. My question is that now if I extract the labels of the connected components, will the character and the label no. correspondence still remain the same? Thanks in advance!

  Hi, If we are looking for line intersections (horizontal and vertical lines only) and we have n lines with half of them vertical and no intersections then Sorting the list of line end points on y value will take N log N using mergesort Each insert delete and search of our data structue (assuming its a b-tree) will be < log n so the total search time will be N log N What am i missing here, if the time to sort using mergesort takes a time of N log N and insert and delete takes a time of < log n are we dropping the constant factor to give an overal time of N log N. If not then how comes < log n goes missing in total ONotation run time? Thanks

• Slow motion tween text isn't smooth

  Hi! i have to create a movie where a text string move in horizontal. the problem is that in the movie (800px wide) the text should go from right to left in about 7 seconds (so it have to go about 400px to the left in 7 sec). i created a motion-tween with ease for my "text" and the tween is long (at 30fps) 30*7=210 frames. the result is that the text DON'T MOVE FLUID... it's not a uniform movement... it's too visible the fact that it moves X pixel each x frames. it's the exact opposite of SMOOTH MOVEMENT. How can i obtain a smooth slow-motion text movement?

  I'm creating a dynamically generated PDF using FPDF. My PDF requires many exactly horizontal/vertical lines in a grid and when rendered they are anti-aliased and look very fuzzy and unacceptable to the client. I need to remove the anti-aliasing for these(or all) lines in the doc.   I'm on my first approach with photoshop patterns.I'm buildin a webpage where I want to use my pattern to give a nice effect to my webpage background. The pattern I found is 120x120 px If I was done here I should use this css: background-imag:url(mypattern.jpg); background-repeat:repeat; But Im not done.Id like to *add to my page's background a linear gradient(dir=top/down col=light-blue/green) with the pattern fill layer on top of it, with blending mode=darken *. This is the final effect: I come to the point. QUESTION: Combining linear vertical-gradient effect and my 120x120 pattern is it possible to find a pattern that I could use to repeat itself endlessly both vertical and horizontal??which is a common solution in this case? • Bejeweled Blitz - How does it assert there is always a move?

  I have been playing Bejeweled Blitz for a while now. Yes, it is an addiction. In thinking about the game, I have observed that on some boards, the bottom runs dry (no moves) leaving only the top part of the board playable. Frequently that part of the board drys up, and one is left with moves in area cleared by the last move. The board never runs completely dry, so clearly the program is doing some sorts of calculation that allows it to choose what to drop to prevent it from running dry. I have noticed in this 'mode' that it is very common for the algorithm to drop jewels which causes more non-dry area to appear in the horizontal area. Perhaps less frequent is a drop which seems designed to open up the bottom part of the board again. So my question is "How would one go about designing an algorithm guarantee that there is always a move available.?"

• GUI freezing after datagridviews have been updated using backgroundworkers

  I have made an application which runs three backgroundworkers simultaneously. It basically updates three datagridviews, which it is doing spot on. My problem is if I press maximizebox button or anywhere in any of the datagridview the program hangs for quite a long time. I am able to use the horizontal scroll but not vertical scrolls. I have tried Backgroundworker_runworkercompleted and it fires as required after threads have updated their respective datagridviews. Is it a normal behaviour or am i doing something wrong any suggestions would be helpful. P.S: I have run the whole program using step method and their is no infinite loop in the code.   I'm utilising some 2d / 3d tracking data (provided by pfHoe) to help integrate some 3d models into the playback of some 2d video. Things are working.... okay... but there's still some visible 'slipping' of the models against the video background and I suspect this is may be because the XNA CreatePerspective helper method isn't taking into account some of the additional data supplied by pfHoe such as independent horizontal / vertical field of view angles and focal length. Would anyone be able to point me towards some examples of constructing view matrices that include such details?

• Need help making row of buttons consistent

  I'm making my first website, and I'm trying to make variable-sized buttons so they'll render correctly on low resolution (read: mobile) browsers. Currently I just have the usual rollover image solution (185 pixels wide by 37 tall if anybody cares), but when I preview the site in low resolution it looks, predictably enough, like complete crap (more specifically they don't have room so they arrange vertically instead of horizontally and take up a huge amount of screen real estate). Semi-related, is there a way to overlay text on a button without saving separate images, each with the correct text? Just using a single template for buttons and then deciding what text goes on it as it's needed? tl;dr: I'm trying to get a horizontal lineup of buttons for navigating my website, but I'm a noob and I can't do it right without your generous assistance.

  Hi, image two lists for selecting roles for a new user creation in an administrator frontend. One list has all available roles in it and another has the selected roles in it. Between those lists are buttons to move elements from one list to another. Thus the layout is horizontal with [List] [Buttons] [List]. Now to the question: Should the selected elements be on the left, or the right list? Intuitively some people I asked say, that the selected elements have to be on the right list. But some other people follow some sort of guideline that says, that the more important stuff in a frontend has to be on the left side. Also they think the selected elements are more important than the non-selected and so the selected ones have to be on the left side. Whats your opinion?

Edit: One caveat is that if/when the width of the child content expands past the width of the browser window, my current CSS puts a horizontal scroll on the parent div. • jQuery Cycle plugin: One pager to control multiple slideshow on a page

  Hi there, I have a cycle plugin set up on a page (images) with a pager to control the horizontal slide. My issue is that there is a transparent overlay that needs to sit over part of the images for some text relating to each image but would rather have that with a different transition effect for this so it doesn't slide in from the left. Am I able to set up to slideshows, each with 3 pieces of related content, that I can position correctly and have them controlled with the one pager? What I want to do is to have a property in the usercontol to control the orientation So I basicaly have UserControl -- Listbox -- MyPanel And I want a property for the usercontrol that can be set in xaml (of type System.Windows.Controls.Orientation ) that I can bind to from my custom panel (or a different approach if binding isnt the right way to do it) It would be a bonus if that property could show up in the properties window and you could select vertical or horizontal. And a super bonus if I could change the property at design time and have the listbox/

  hey, ive read all the scrollTo questions and couldnt find the answer. im trying to use the scrollTo plugin for a simple horizontal scroll (the site is horizontally designed). im using the following code $(document).ready(function() { $('#contactlink').click(function(){ $.scrollTo("#conta", {duration: 8000 }); }); }); as is obvious, contactlink is the anchor link while conta is the anchor where the window should scroll to. i know im missing something very obvious, but as im a beginner with jquery, id appreciate all the help i can get. is there any way to debug the functioning of the plugin? thanks
