• How to stop IE8 from expanding a nested div's width to fit parent div?

  I have a page with several levels of divs. In one of the inner divs, there are two divs (1 & 2) which have float; left so that they are on the same horizontal level. It looks good in FireFox, but in the IE8, div 2 is below div 1. I turned the borders on and noticed div2 (violet border) is filling the width of the parent box. In FF, the width is the width of all the content only. If I use a hard coded width (not a good idea), IE8 displays it fine. How can I make IE8 not expand the width of div2 to the right edge of its parent div? IE8 (not good: div2 width is expanded) Firefox (good: width of div2 is not expanded)

  Hi, Is there a way in flex 3 chart component to display both the date and time using horizontal DateTimeAxis? Currently the DateTimeAxis element has an attribute dataunits which allows to set the value to any of "milliseconds|seconds|minutes|hours|days|weeks|months|years" but I want to display the label as "2009/09/15 06:00:00" which includes the day and the time too. • Qt: Dragging a widget to scroll the widget's parent QScrollArea?

  I've got a long horizontal QLabel displaying a png (the image shows a signal/time graph). Under that, I've got a QTableWidget. Both of these are in a QScrollArea because I want them to stay vertically aligned (the cells in the table correspond with the signal seen directly above them). I'm trying to add a handler to the QLabel such that the user can use the picture itself to scroll the scrollarea, rather than having to use the scrollbar. Is there a tried-and-tested way to do this? Directly setting the scrollarea's sliderPosition inside the QLabel's dragMoveEvent doesn't seem smart, because when the scrollarea scrolls it also leads to another dragMoveEvent on the (moving) QLabel.

  Today I implemented the horizontal jScrollPane script and the element I intended to scrolls like a charm. Via CSS I'm using an image for the jspDrag element. Now for my question; I see that there are a few css classes added to the jspDrag like jspHover and jspActive. Is it also possible to add css classes when I scroll to the left or right? I would like to do this, so I can change the image according to the scroll. (Hoping my question is clear, a reaction would be highly appreciated. Kind regards)

The top panel should be able to hold up to 4 textboxes like this TextBox1 TextBox2 TextBox3 TextBox4 There WILL be atleast one TextBox. Maximum is 4. How do I create a TabPage with two panels where the top panel only takes up the real estate as needed(i.e only use up the real estate for one textbox or 2 textboxes, or 3 textboxes or the maximum 4 textboxes) and the rest of the tabpage is available for Panel2.

The data I use are like that: {Product: "C1", Store: "S1", Profit: "1500}, {Product: "C2", Store: "S1", Profit: "1000}, {Product: "C3", Store: "S2", Profit: "800}, {Product: "C4", Store: "S2", Profit: "1200}, {Product: "C5", Store: "S3", Profit: "1800} Beacuse I set horizontalAxis.categoryField = "Store" , the chart show label "S1,S1,S2,S2,S3" on ths axes. However, both C1 and C2 data point group on the second "S1" category (as same as C3,C4 on second S2). If I accept group data point on the same x-poistion, is there any idea to drop duplicated label?

  Basically I need to find all elements on the page that have a scrollbar (vertical or horizontal) How to tell if an element has a scrollbar and can actually be scrolled? I found this code snippet on jsperf. Is it possible to capture the logic behind the code into and XPath expression? Or are there any other ways to check for scrollbars? Added: Just to explain what I'm trying to do: I'm developing extension for Firefox. Basically it introduces Vim-style mouseless shortcuts (I know there is Vimperator and Pentadactyl...). One of the features I'd like to implement is to allow the use to select the container that's scrolled with j/k keys. That's why I need to discover all scrollable elements on any given random page.

  I've read that one of the key beliefs of Python is that flat nested. However, if I have several variables counting up, what is the alternative to multiple for loops? My code is for counting grid sums and goes as follows: def horizontal(): for x in range(20): for y in range(17): temp = grid[x][y: y + 4] sum = 1 for n in temp: sum += int(n) return sum This seems to me like it is too heavily nested. Firstly, what is considered to many nested loops in Python ( I have certainly seen 2 nested loops before). Secondly, if this is too heavily nested, what is an alternative way to write this code?

  Hey All! I have a weird background I am trying to figure out the best way to style it. So, there are two parts to the background image, the top part which has a unique horizontal and vertical design (its about 1024x700) then a bottom section that has a unique style horizontally, but can be repeated vertically . (1024 x 1) Right now I have the top section being a background image for the header, the problem is that it screws me up for styling all of the page content because it is so big!   Hi all I have some data represented in a 1300x1341 matrix. I would like to split this matrix in several pieces (e.g. 9) so that I can loop over and process them. The data needs to stay ordered in the sense that x[0,1] stays below (or above if you like) x[0,0] and besides x[1,1]. Just like if you had imaged the data, you could draw 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines over the image to illustrate the 9 parts. If I use numpys reshape (eg. matrix.reshape(9,260,745) or any other combination of 9,260,745) it doesn't yield the required structure since the above mentioned ordering is lost... Did I misunderstand the reshape method or can it be done this way? What other pythonic/numpy way is there to do this?

  I am developing a navigation menu in silverlight that has 6 images. As you mouseover each image grows and clicking on an image will take you to a page on the website. The customer I am doing this for decided that straight rectangular images were boring and I showed him a design where I have slanted each image so each one is now a rhomboid shape. Horizontal top and bottom with sides slanting about 30deg from vertical. I have been unable to figure out any way of growing each image on mouseover without putting a white block over the adjacent images. Would be grateful for any pointers.

Verify that the owning type is the Style's TargetType, or use Class.Property syntax to specify the Property. Sure i have a Dock panel with many Stackpanels in it so i want to move Stackpanel's properties to the style. But there is this error and i dont quite understand what it means and what is the workaround(..i'd wanted not to assign Orientation on every Stackpanel).

  I am trying to create horizontal bar chart to look like a pill chart. I would like to take a either a stacked bar chart or a 100% stacked bar chart and put rounded ends onto this chart. I would only be using 1 row within the chart. One idea I had was just putting rounded images on either end of the chart to accomplish this but I'm not sure that this will give the smooth feel of a single pill. Does anyone have a good suggestion?   I would like to create an online, simple WYSIWYG drawing editor allowing people to draw rectangular shapes. I'm thinking of a grid which the lines and points can snap on to, ensuring that the lines are strictly vertical or horizontal. I will be parsing the rectangular shapes to obtain some area calculations and compute certain things. How can I achieve the drawing ability? The new canvas tag is good but people have been telling me that IE does not support it. I found some Java applets but I have never programmed in Java before.   OKay I am at loss how to name this question. I have some HTML files, probably written by lord Lucifier himself, that I need to parse. It consists of many segments like this, among other html tags <p>HeadingNumber</p> <p style="text-indent:number;margin-top:neg_num ">Heading Text</p> <p>Body</p> Notice that the heading number and text are in seperate p tags, aligned in a horizontal line by css. the css may be whatever Lucifier fancies, a mixture of indents, paddings, margins and positions. However that line is a single object in my business model and should be kept as such. So How do I detect whether two p elements are visually in a single line and process them accordingly. I believe the HTML files are well formed if it helps.

• Subdividing 3D mesh into arbitrarily sized pieces

  I have a mesh defined by 4 points in 3D space. I need an algorithm which will subdivide that mesh into subdivisions of an arbitrary horizontal and vertical size. If the subdivision size isn't an exact divisor of the mesh size, the edge pieces will be smaller. All of the subdivision algorithms I've found only subdivide meshes into exact powers of 2. Does anyone know of one that can do what I want? Failing that, my thoughts about a possible implementation is to rotate the mesh so that it is flat on the Z axis, subdivide in 2D and then translate back into 3D. That's because my mind finds 3D hard ;) Any better suggestions? Using C# if that makes any difference.

  I'm attempting to set up navigation withing a Drupal site and am having a bit of trouble. I'm trying to have a series of pages that each have a set number of sub-pages. These pages will need to link to one another. All pages will contain similar content. For instance: Page 1 will have sub-pages a, b, c, d, e, and f all with content related to the topic of page 1 Page 2 will have sub-pages a, b, c, d, e, and f with content related to the topic of page 2 I'd like these links to appear in a horizontal nav bar on each page. Is it possible to accomplish this using the book module? I've also read some information about the taxonomy menu module that sounds promising, but I'm not really sure how that would work. What route should I look into? Thanks for any input!

• Stop sign icon in VS2005 Express solution explorer

  What does a small stop sign icon on a file in solution explorer mean? Someone asked the same question a year ago Original Question but the answer provided is of no help. The icon looks like this: Suffice to say that the sign is not one presented in the VS documentation and is a UK Stop sign (red circle with a white horizontal bar) not a US one. The project is WebKit and the build process cannot find AuthenticationCF.h even though the file is present. I presume the sign might shed some light on this. Thanks, Andy
