  • DOM - More than 5 'window' objects on one page

    Hi, I'm trying to extract data from one of my websites using Greasemonkey. Problem is, the script runs 6 times because apparently the page loads content from 6 different servers. So if I put in an alert ("Hey"); the code runs 6 times and I get 6 alerts. How can I wait for the entire page to load and then start playing with the DOM. Also, I'm using jQuery. Thanks

  • Need Opinions: Should an ASP.NET Application allow administrators to change MSSQL connection?

    As the title suggests: What is your opinion on allowing administrators to update the SQL Connection string dynamically from the application versus just showing them the connection details in the application? Because the database connection is so important and on a heavily used system the abrupt change to the connection seems like it could cause problems. However I would think displaying the server and catalog and whether the connection is using SSPI or SQL Auth could be helpful for administrators who don't like playing with .NET config files. Thoughts?

I need to trigger an event when the vertical scrollbar reaches a certain position (say 90% down to the bottom).   • Reducing width of bar chart series

    Note: by width i mean the height here, I use width because by default, bar charts are vertical and flex uses the width property I want to reduce the width of the following barchart so Type 5, Type 4, Type 3, Type 2, Type 1 are very close to each other. I tried playing with the barWidthRatio, the horizontalAxisRatio and the maxBarWidth properties. Neither is giving me the desired result. I can only manage to reduce the width of the orange bars, how do I reduce the width of the blue bars?

  • Memory issues - Living vs. overall -> app is killed

    I'm trying to check my applications memory issues in Instruments. When I load the application I play some sounds and show some animations in UIImageViews. To save some memory I load the sounds only when I need it and when I stop playing it I free it from the memory. problem 1: My application is using about 5.5MB of Living memory. BUT The Overall section is growing after start to 20MB and then it's slowly growing (about 100kB/sec). But responsible Library is OpenAL (OAL::Buffer), dyld (_dyld_start)-I am not sure what this really is, and some other stuff like ft_mem_qrealloc, CGFontStrikeSetValue, … problem 2: When the overall section breaks about 30MB, application crashes (is killed). According to the facts I already read about overall memory, it means then my all allocations and deallocation is about 30MB. But I don't really see the problem. When I need some sound for example I load it to the memory and when I don't need it anymore I release it. But that means when I load 1MB sound, this operation increase overall memory usage with 2MB. Am I right? And when I load 10 sounds my app crashes just because the fact my overall is too high even living is still low??? I am very confused about it. Could someone please help me clear it up?   • Can I view a list of public variables of some Adobe Air app or web flash file from another app?

    I was thinking about creating making AIM pluggin that checks pandora one (desktop) or pandora website periodically to see what is currently playing and update a user's status. I suppose the main question is there a clever way to access a "public" variable from some open Adobe Air process? I KNOW this sounds like some crazy security flaw, but it may also be a feature. I am pretty sure javascript can potentially handle it. Thanks!

After it has finished grabbing anything new i'd like to change the emblem of ~/Videos to add a plus or star (nautilus emblem preferably) Do i go about this via nautilus?   • How to programatically sense the iPhone mute switch?

    I can't seem to find in the SDK how to programatically sense the mute button/switch on the iPhone. When my app plays background music, it responds properly to the volume button without me having any code to follow that but, when I use the mute switch, it just keeps playing away. How do I test the position of mute? (NOTE: My program has its own mute switch, but I'd like the physical switch to override that.) Thanks!

    When I play a video with MPMoviePlayerController in my app my iPhone does not auto lock (tested OS 3.0 & 3.1.2). However, the application.idleTimerDisabled = NO, so this setting is not affected by MPMoviePlayerController. How can I get my iPhone to sleep normally (e.g. after 3 min screen dims, then goes dark) when my app is running and playing a video?

  • NTPD: use an unrestricted port for communication

    When querying ntp servers with the command ntpdate, I can use the -u argument to make the source port an unrestricted port (port 1024 and above). With ntpd, which is meant to run in the background, I can't seem to find a way to turn this option on. So the source port is always 123. It's playing around horribly with my firewall configuration. Is there a configuration option in ntp.conf to make it use a random source port?
