  I have a HashMap object that I am getting on a JSP page. HashMap<Integer,Gift_product> gift_hm = new HashMap<Integer,Gift_product>(); gift_hm.put(17,new Gift_product("doll",67)); Now I need to iterate this and display content on JSP. The Gift_product class contains two fields: name and price. JSP output should be serial no. product name price 17 Doll 67 How can I achieve it?

  I want to pass variable arguments obtained in one function to other function but I am not able to do so. Function gets even number of variable arguments and then it has to be converted in array. Below is the example. Procedure abc1 gets two arguments (k k) and not form abc1 procedure these have to be passed to proc abc where list to array conversion it to be done.   The docs say: you should implement methods of the form validate:error:, as defined by the NSKeyValueCoding protocol so lets say I have an attribute which is an int: friendAge I want to make sure that any friend may not be younger than 30. So how would I make that validation method? -validateFriendAge:error: What am I gonna do in there, exactly? And what shall I do with that NSError I get passed? I think it has an dictionary where I can return a humanly readable string in an arbitrary language (i.e. the one that's used currently), so I can output a reasonable error like: "Friend is not old enough"... how to do that?

• C struct print, decode this code?

  I am in the process of studying for a test, and I'm trying to work through some practice problems. I've been working on this a while now..but can't figure it out. Please take a look at the code fragment: union { int i; short x; unsigned short u; float f; } testout; testout.i=0xC0208000; Before I ask the question, can someone please explain to me how the above code works?? My guess is that testout.i=0xC0208000 puts either an int, short, unsigned short, or float and puts the result in that address. (?) The question is what prints out if we write printf("%d", testout.x)? I know we should expect digits....but I have no idea where they are getting the digits from....there is no output. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

But how is it possible to do this leaving others like NULL, blanks and garbage.   I looked already and could't find anyting good. So a question is, are there any good web frameworks that would allow to easily develop GUI for the majority of high end phones? By this I mean It would have to work the same on majority of high end phones (forget the low cost ones) It would have to simplify the development and hide the ugly details from developer Clear design and good documentation. Also some stability on the market. The focus in on good looking and easy to make GUI. Javascript is only a plus. So basically I am looking for something like jQuery or maybe ExtJS for phone development. EDIT: It would be a big plus if it could be consumed in Delphi EDIT 2: If it was not clear, I am looking for a web base solution. So the target is HTML output and not native code.

• Transform LINQ Dataset into a Matrix for export

  Hi folks, I've got a data table with columns in which include Item, Category and Value (and others, but those are the only relevant ones for this problem) that I access via LINQ in a C# ASP.Net MVC app. I want to transform these into a matrix and output that as a CSV file to pull into Excel as matrix with the items down the side, the categories across the top and the values in the row cells. However, I don't know how many, or what, categories there will be in this table, nor will there always be a record for each item/category combination. I've written this by looping round, getting my "master category" list, then looking again for each item, filling in either blank or Value, depending on whether the item/category record exists, but as there are currently 27000 records in the table, this isn't as fast as I'd like. Is there a slicker and faster way I can do this, maybe via LINQ (firing into a quicker SQL statement so the DB server can do the leg-work), or will any method essentially come back to what I am doing?   In Access 2007 I have created a form with a textbox and a button. At the moment, when I press the button, I load a query with the textbox data passed as a parameter to the query criteria. I would like to change this so that all (manually input) options appear in a combobox (in place of the textbox). I would then like to pass the combobox text to a VBA module upon pressing the button. How do I do this? Similarly, I hope to output a different string from this module, and I hope to use this as the query criteria. How do I do this?

  I have written code to upload the files of different types using php, and also i am saving their location information and date in database table. i made a query to display list of files i have uploaded...and resulting output on a html page as follows 1.uploads/clouds.png date and time 2.uploads/resume.pdf dare and time .......so on is there any different any way to display them by their file types as like an operating systems do..... or any better way.... • C++ wrapper for C library

  Hi, Recently I found a C library that I want to use in my C++ project. This code is configured with global variables and writes it's output to memory pointed by static pointers. When I execute my project I would like 2 instances of the C program to run: one with configuration A and one with configuration B. I can't afford to run my program twice, so I think there are 2 options: Make a C++ wrapper: The problem here is that the wrapper-class should contain all global/static variables the C library has. Since the functions in the C library use those variables I will have to create very big argument-lists for those functions. Copy-paste the C library: Here I'll have to adapt the name of every function and every variable inside the C library. Which one is the fastest solution? Are there other possibilities to run 2 instances of the same C source? Thanks, Max

• Pretty-print HTML via PHP without validation?

  I'd like to automatically pretty-print (indentation, mostly) the HTML output that my PHP scripts generate. I've been messing with Tidy, but have found that in its efforts to validate and clean my code, Tidy is changing way too much. I know Tidy's intentions are good but I'm really just looking for an HTML beautifier. Is there a simpler library out there that can run in PHP and just do the pretty-printing? Or, is there a way to configure Tidy to skip all the validation stuff and just beautify?

• Django: Change models without clearing all data?

  I have some models I'm working with in a new Django installation. Is it possible to change the fields without losing app data? I tried changing the field and running python manage.py syncdb. There was no output from this command. Renavigating to admin pages for editing the changed models caused TemplateSyntaxErrors as Django sought to display fields that didn't exist in the db. I am using SQLite. I am able to delete the db file, then re-run python manage.py syncdb, but that is kind of a pain. Is there a better way to do it?

• Rscript does not recognize setGeneric function

  I am trying to convert an R script into something that a client can run in batch mode. My code uses generic functions and one snippet which is near the beginning goes like: setGeneric("testInput", function(inputData, params = list()) standardGeneric("testInput")) I've been using R CMD BATCH and it works fine. However I couldn't find an easy way to make my script print the output on the console, so based on that (and suggestion that Rscript.exe is the "proper" way to run R batch files) I decided to switch to Rscript. However when running the very same .R file with Rscript I get the following: Error: could not find function "setGeneric" Execution halted I know there is probably a trivial reason behind this but I just cannot figure it out. Can someone please point me to where the mistake is? Thanks so much in advance. Cheers!

• Will Emacs --batch run in cron will hang when require user input?

  I have a job in crontab that requires emacs --batch but if the file is currently open it requests (s, p, q) to (steal, quit, etc...) which is fine if this file is being edited to not run the script but I want to make sure it kills the cron running script so it's not sitting in the background taking up memory. I have the output set to go to a log file so I can see this happening but no way to tell whether the script was terminated even though asked for user input. Does cron terminate these scripts and how to check the PID to make sure?

I am compiling under JDK 1.5 Take this line as an example that I read from standard input: ab:Some string po:bubblegum What I would like to do is split by the two characters and colon. That is, once the line is split and put into a string array, these should be the terms: ab:Some string po:bubblegum I have this regex right now: String[] split = input.split("[..:]"); This splits at the semicolon; what I would like is for it to match two characters and a semicolon, but split at the space before that starts. Is this even possible? Here is the output from the string array: ab Some String po bubblegum I've read about Pattern.compile() as well. Is this something I should be considering?

  Before you say "oh no, not again" here I'm stating my case. I'm parsing part of HTML output and the only thing I'm interested in is name and value attributes of each <input/ tag. HTML is actually HTML fragment, may not be well-formed. I don't have DOM or HTML parser and I don't try to parse nested elements anyway. The problem is that I don't know the order or number of attributes so it could be <input name="foo" value="boo"/> or <input type="hidden" name=foo> or <input id=blah value='boo' src="image.png" name="foo" type="img"/>. Is there a single regular expression that would get me values of name and value attribute in predictable order? I wouldn't have asked the question if I could assume that name attribute always precedes value but unfortunately this is not the case

  Table: DayOfWeek Enrollments Monday 35 Monday 12 Saturday 25 Tuesday 15 Monday 9 Tuesday 15 Basically I'm trying to sum the total enrolments for each day. so the Output will look like: DayOfWeek Enrollments Monday 56 Saturday 25 Tuesday 30 I've spent around 4 hours trying to work this out trying many many different ways but no luck. The problem I'm having is i can count how many enrollments for each day but can't have it aligned with the correct day when i run the query e.g. I want The total to be on the same line as the day it was calculated from. (I hope that is clear enough)

  I have a method which goes through each day of the week: def dates_week(d, delim) "<tr>" + (d.beginning_of_week...(d.beginning_of_week+5)).map do |day| "<#{delim}> #{yield(day)} </#{delim}>" end.join + "</tr>" end For each day of the week, I plug that as an arg into a method (or maybe a named_scope, haven't figured out which), that will then output the .count for :all the emails that have a :date_sent on that date. However, :date_sent is a date-timestamp, so I can't use == as I have below. def sent_emails_by_date(date) ContactEmail.find(:all, :conditions => "date_sent = '#{date}'" " ).count end How do I find all the emails that fall on the day for the date passed through from the method which loops through a week as shown above?

  I'm trying to write some VHDL code that simply feeds sequential bits from a std_logic_vector into a model of an FSM. However, the bits don't seem to be updating correctly. To try figure out the issue, I have the following code, where instead of getting a bit out of a vector, I'm just toggling the signal x (the same place I'd be getting a bit out). clk <= NOT clk after 10 ns; process(clk) begin if count = 8 then assert false report "Simulation ended" severity failure; elsif (clk = '1') then x <= test1(count); count <= count + 1; end if; end process; EDIT: It appears I was confused.I've put it back to trying to take bit by bit out of the vector. This is the output. I would have thought that on when count is 1, x would take on the value of test1(1) which is a 1.
