  • Possible to have an NSIS callback function after all files were copied?

    Trying to optimize my MUI 2 NSIS setup in which I do some ExecWait calls in the .onInstSuccess callback function, I was searching through the documentation to find a callback that is called: after the files are all copied -and- before the wizard page is being switched from the file copy page to the finish page. Unfortunately, I found no such callback. Therefore my question is: Is it possible to do some custom processing after the files are copied and before the wizard page is being switched away from the file copy page?

  • Can I Force A ASP.Net Website to Show Time in A Specific Time Zone?

    I have a client request that all times be displayed in Pacific Time Zone, regardless of client settings. I'd like to avoid a scenario where I have to call a function for every time display and instead have a single point where I can make the switch. I'm thinking a custom culture might do the trick, but I wanted to ask before I set off down a potentially blind alley (or miss something trivially easy).

    Hello all, Since some time I've been investigating more time into profiling things better, really think about how to do a thing and why. Now I'm going to start a new project, where I will be writing a report about. The report will be about anything what I wrote in the project, why, and I'll be investigating some things and do particular research about them. I've seen some reports, such as game programming in Haskell using FRP. However, after reading several reports they all seem to be build different. I have a few questions about writing a report: 1] What are the things I really should include, and what are the things I really shouldn't include? 2] Is it useful to include graphs about different methods/approaches to a several problem, where you only included one into your project, to show WHY you didn't include the other methods. Or should I just explain the method/approach used into the project. 3] Should I only be writing the report after I've completed the project, or should I also write pages about what I expect, how I'm going to build the software?     In rails 2 you can use the :any option to define a custom route that responds to any request method e.g. map.resources :items, :member => {:erase => :any} rails 3 doesn't seem to support the :any option resources :items do get :erase, :on => :member # works any :erase, :on => :member # doesn't work end does anyone know if this option has been removed or just renamed?

    I need NSRange objects for the position of each uppercase letter in a given NSString for input into a method for a custom attributed string class.  There are of course quite a few ways to accomplish this such as rangeOfString:options: with NSRegularExpressionSearch or using RegexKitLite to get each match separately while walking the string.  What would be the fastest performing approach to accomplish this task?

  • Reason why UIImage gives me a 'distorted' image sometimes

    I have a custom UIView with a UILabel and a UIImageView subview. (tried using UIImageView subclass aswell). I assign an image to it and add the view to the screen. What I find weird is that they are all good or all bad..     I'm trying to map my skills and responsibilities profile sections to one of the custom properties in Active Directory (extensionattribute1 , 2, etc). I'm entering comma seperated values in AD and it's importing the values fine but sees the comma seperated values as one value on import. i.e. 'C#,asp.net,javascript' rather than 'C#', 'asp.net', 'Javascript'. Any ideas. I'm almost there it's just not spliting the values correctly on import. thanks in Advance

    I am having some issues with code that is returning a pointer to a struct declared inside a class.   • Do null SQLite Data fields take up extra memory?

    I'm using the built in sqlite library on the Android platform. I'm considering adding several general purpose fields that users will be able to use for their own custom applications, but these fields will be blank most of the time. My question is, how much overhead will these blank fields add to my database? Do null fields even take up per record memory in sqlite? If so, how much? I don't quite understand the inner workings of a sqlite database.

    To preface, this is a follow up to an inquiry made a few days ago: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2981803/iphone-app-crashes-when-merging-managed-object-contexts Short Version: EXC_BAD_ACCESS is crashing my app, and zombie-mode revealed the culprit to be my predicate embedded within the fetch request embedded in my Fetched Results Controller. How does an object within an object get released without an explicit command to do so? Long Version: Application Structure Platforms View Controller - Games View Controller (Predicated upon platform selection) - Add Game View Controller When a row gets clicked on the Platforms view, it sets an instance variable in Games View for that platform, then the Games Fetched Results Controller builds a fetch request in the normal way: - (NSFetchedResultsController *)fetchedResultsController{ if (fetchedResultsController != nil) { return fetchedResultsController; } //build the fetch request for Games NSFetchRequest *request = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [NSEntityDescription entityForName:@"Game" inManagedObjectContext:context]; [request setEntity:entity]; //predicate NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"platform == %@", selectedPlatform]; [request setPredicate:predicate]; //sort based on name NSSortDescriptor *sortDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"name" ascending:YES]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:sortDescriptor, nil]; [request setSortDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; //fetch and build fetched results controller NSFetchedResultsController *aFetchedResultsController = [[NSFetchedResultsController alloc] initWithFetchRequest:request managedObjectContext:context sectionNameKeyPath:nil cacheName:@"Root"]; aFetchedResultsController.delegate = self; self.fetchedResultsController = aFetchedResultsController; [sortDescriptor release]; [sortDescriptors release]; [predicate release]; [request release]; [aFetchedResultsController release]; return fetchedResultsController; } At the end of this method, the fetchedResultsController's _fetch_request - _predicate member is set to an NSComparisonPredicate object. All is well in the world. By the time - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section gets called, the _predicate is now a Zombie, which will eventually crash the application when the table attempts to update itself. I'm more or less flummoxed. I'm not releasing the fetched results controller or any of it's parts, and the only part getting dealloc'd is the predicate. Any ideas?

  • Why use an event cache with epoll_wait?

    Question: epoll man page has some pointers when using epoll with an 'event cache'. But, why would you need to maintain an event cahce at all - Isn't this the same as what epoll is supposed to be doing? Is it to avoid making multiple epoll_wait calls which might be slower than managing the events in user space? Is it to implement a custom 'priority' scheme over the cached events? Background: I'm trying to understand the strengths/shortcomings of epoll and its applicability to different situations
