• Are there C# controls that can be used to create a hierarchical list of prioritised items?

  I need to be able to display and edit a hierarchical list of tasks in a C# app. It can either be a Windows form app, or ASP.NET. Basically, I want similar behaviour to the way Microsoft Project handles tasks. The control would need to: 1) Maintain a list of items made up of several fields 2) Each item can have a number of children (at least 3 levels of nesting) 3) It needs to be very easy to change the parents/children of an item 4) It needs to be very easy to edit the fields (as fast as changing cells in Excel) 5) It needs to be very easy to reorder the items by dragging and dropping or cut and paste 6) If I can easily connect the control to a database, even better Before I go and create something manually, I'm wondering if there is something available already?

• Variable width columns in a table

  I'm using an HTML table for a calendar and I want to fill the cells with various events from my database. Usually they will land on weekends but some will run for long weekend, bank holidays or even the odd week day. How can I get my tables columns to expand and shrink accordingly. I'd like to avoid the use of javascript if possible. If this can't be done I'm going to need a tutorial to help me get my head around how to make div's positioning behave. cheers

• NSTableView won't begin dragging rows if the mouseDown happens within the rect of an NSButtonCell.

  I currently have an odd case where I need to be able to reorder rows in an NSTableView, but the only column happens to be an NSButtonCell. I'm trying to see how I can override NSButtonCell's mouse tracking in order to get it to behave in a way so that the NSTableView will begin dragging the row, but am not having much luck. Additional info that might affect the behavior: With this NSTableView, I am not allowing any rows to be selected, but I have forced mouse tracking to always occur for all cells. This is so that the button can still be clicked even though its row can never be selected. Thanks!

• Excel VBA to check autofilter for data

  I need help checking for autofiltered rows not including the header. I want it to give a message box "No records found." then exit sub or continue with copy paste if there are rows beyond the header row. I know I need an If/Else entry after the filter to check for data but I'm having trouble figuring how to check. This code is being done from a UserForm I created. • Speeding up jQuery empty() or replaceWith() Functions When Dealing with Large DOM Elements

  Let me start off by apologizing for not giving a code snippet. The project I'm working on is proprietary and I'm afraid I can't show exactly what I'm working on. However, I'll do my best to be descriptive. Here's a breakdown of what goes on in my application: User clicks a button Server retrieves a list of images in the form of a data-table Each row in the table contains 8 data-cells that in turn each contain one hyperlink Each request by the user can contain up to 50 rows (I can change this number if need be) That means the table contains upwards of 800 individual DOM elements My analysis shows that jQuery("#dataTable").empty() and jQuery("#dataTable).replaceWith(tableCloneObject) take up 97% of my overall processing time and take on average 4 - 6 seconds to complete. I'm looking for a way to speed up either of the above mentioned jQuery functions when dealing with massive DOM elements that need to be removed / replaced. I hope my explanation helps.

  What's the minimum implementation needed to make a custom NSView with an editable text area? I assume NSTextFieldCell can be used for this. I've succeeded in drawing the cell in the view (which is straightforward), but making it editable seems to require a more complicated coordination between the view and the cell. Is there sample code available somewhere? Update. I should have made clear that my longer-term goal is to have many more editable text areas on the same view. AFAIU it is better to use cells in that case as they are more light-weight than full-blown views. My updated question is: What's the minimum implementation needed to make a custom NSView with an editable text area using an appropriate NSCell?

  I have an Excel worksheet in XML format which contains <Cell ss:StyleID="s127"><Data ss:Type="String">A01-Replace</Data></Cell> I want to replace @A01-Replace with a different string. I'm using the XQuery's replace function like so: let $excel := doc("excel.xml") let $test := "another string" return replace($excel, "(A[0-9]+-Replace)", $test) Before calling replace, the variable $excel is valid XML upon output. However, when I output $excel after I call the replace function, all of the XML tags have been stripped, and $excel is a string with the content of the cells as its values. I would like to keep the XML tags there. Any ideas?

• How to programatically set cell.textLabel.text from a different view?

  I've got a view controller, call it VC1, that's a table view. When I tap a cell in the table view, I am presented with a new view controller, call it VC2, which is a short list of choices. After making a choice, I want to dismiss VC2 and set the cell.textLabel.text property of the VC1 cell I originally tapped to the value I selected in VC2. Conceptually speaking, what is the proper way to do this? I've tried a handful of different approaches, but all of them seem wonky at best, and only one of them actually worked - although it was the most cumbersome of all, passing references to both view controllers and table view cells and all kinds of things. It just feels like I'm making a mountain out of what is probably a mole hill. This is such a common paradigm that I find it hard to believe there's not a simple method for doing it. Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.

  In Excel I have a list of names that in the cell appear stacked, and I want each name in its own column. I was thinking Python may be a good way to do this? Example: Joe Smith John Hawk Mike Green Lauren Smith One cell will look exactly like that, with each name on its line within the cell but all of the names contained in the cell. I have 50 cells each with 1-20 stacked names and I want to put each name in its own cell on a given row. So, in my example all of those names would occupy the same row but each would have their own column. Any ideas?

  Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea on how you can create a view that looks like the user profile view in apps like Tweetie, where there are seemingly multiple tables with a couple of normal (straight up and down tables) and then two rows of six cells, which in Tweeties case have the number of followers, following etc. I'm trying to make a similar view for my app, but can't seem to find out the best way to create it. • Common, reusable iPhone-App configuration screen

  I'm writing code that will allow my iphone-app to have a "configuration page". A grouped, scrolling, UITableView... with cells that contain the needed textFields, switches, sliders, etc. It is an ENOURMOUS amount of code. Is there an easier way? Is there a way I could create a simple text-file, contain all my desired design choices and have my (reusable) code build the TableView for me? Or... can I just do the whole thing quicker/easier in Interface Builder instead of code?

I tried to add a style for DataGridCell: <DataGrid.CellStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type DataGridCell}"> <Setter Property="ContextMenu" Value="{x:Null}"/> </Style> </DataGrid.CellStyle> but it doesn't work. As I understand, it is a TextBox inside a Cell when the Cell in edit mode. I tried also to add a style for TextBox, but it have an effect only on TextBoxes in XAML, but not on the DataGrid cells.

  I'm trying to implement a system whereby the user is initially presented with a single tablecell, in a uitableview (grouped style), within a uinavigationview. --------------- + | add record | --------------- When they click on the cell, they are pushed onto a new screen where they fill in a few textviews (perhaps imbedded in a tableview's cells) --------------- | (name) | --------------- | (phone num) | --------------- Then when they go back, they can see the new record as well as the 'add record' cell. --------------- | record 1 | --------------- + | add record | --------------- (When they go into record 1 again there would be a delete button) Is there any sample code or libraries which would achieve this? What about InAppSettingsKit? It's more the presentation I'm concerned with. I can handle the saving of data myself.

  I want to have all same size(width) cells in tableView no matter what accessory they have. If text in a cell almost fits to a cell, If i click that cell, check mark(accessory at the right) is displayed and some of characters goes to next line. it's annyoing. It's ok to do wordwrap. I can adjust cell's height. But I dont' want a cell displays different number of characters in an line depends on it's clicked or not. How can I do that?? thanks.

  Hello, I have a custom UITableViewCell. However, when I got in edit mode, I don't have any Delete and Move indicators appearing. The custom cell draws itself in the contentView. In layoutSubviews, I make sure there is space on the left and one the right of the contentView so that the controls can appear (if this was the problem). - (void)layoutSubviews { self.contentView.frame = CGRectMake(50, 0, self.frame.size.width - 100, sub.thumbnail.size.height + 20); } In the UITableViewController, I return YES in: - (BOOL)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView canMoveRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { How could I solve this lack of interactivity.   I have a Table and a Button. Table's cells have controls LiteralControl and CheckBox. I check some fields and then by click on button i remove these fields from database. On event Page_PreRender i clear Table and then fill it with updated data. Then it shows me Table with updated data. But if i check fields of table again and do a click on a button it wont do what i expected. In Page_Load event i see that it dont save properties of controls. Checked CheckBox controls appears as unchecked.

• Storing unique ID in UITableViewCell

  I have a table where there will often be two cells with the same title. I'm zooming in on a map whenever a cell in the table is clicked, so using the title as a unique identifier is out of the question. I already have a unique identifier, but I need to find a way to store it in a UITableViewCell object. I have been considering two options, both of which are poor, IMO. 1) store the unique ID as the text inside the text of the detailTextLabel property. 2) build a custom UITableViewCell class. I'm new to objective C, and I would essentially like to know if theres a third option that isnt as inefficient as #1, but not as involved as #2. Thanks

• Getting data from a ListView into an array

  I have a ListView control on my form set up like this in details mode: What I would like to do, is get all the values of the data cells when the user presses the Delete booking button. • Issues with format in reporting services

  In a report a have a cell that contains a System.Decimal type value. I am using the cells format property to format the value to "D2". This works in VS but not when I run the report on the report server or in my application. If I switch the format string to "0.00" then it works. The confusing part is that it seems that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone have any viable explaination for this? I'm not particularly confortable with saying "sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't"! Is this something that might happen when you have a report written in VS2005 but is running using sql server 2008. I ask because I noticed that when we run the report in our application which is using sql server 2005 it works fine but when we run it against the application where the report is VS2005 and the sql server is 2008 that is where the issue occurs. • Wanting a type of grid for a pixel editor

  Hi, I am currently trying to develop a basic pixel editor application to build up my programming experience with Java. I am designing it so the user has several colour options on, they click on an option and then they can drag over the cells in the grid and they change colour (like a typical image editor, but with a sort of snap on to each grid cell) Any idea of what Java component, if any, is able to implement this type of grid in Java? I had thought of each cell being a JButton, but this seemed terribly inefficient and I don't think it would be possible to change the colour of each cell(button) with out individually clicking on each one. Any help appreciated.
