  • How to enable i18n from within setup_app in websetup.py ? (formatted resend)

    From within the setup_app function (websetup.py) of a pylons i18n application, which is making use of a db, I was trying to initiate multilingual content to be inserted into the db. To do so the idea was something like: #necessary imports here def setup_app(command, conf, vars): .... for lang in langs: set_lang(lang) content=model.Content() content.content=_('content') Session.add(content) Session.commit() Unfortunately it seems that it doesn't work. the set_lang code line is firing an exception as follows: File ".. i18n/translation.py", line 179, in set_lang translator = _get_translator(lang, **kwargs) File ".. i18n/translation.py", line 160, in _get_translator localedir = os.path.join(rootdir, 'i18n') File ".. /posixpath.py", line 67, in join elif path == '' or path.endswith('/'): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith' Actually I'm even not sure it could be possible launching i18n mechanisms from within this setup_app function without an active request object. Anyone has tried some trick on a similar story ?

  • invalid postback event instead of dropdown to datagrid

    I faced with funny situation. I created a page which is having some value, I set these value and control my post back event also. The problem is happening when I change a component index(ex reselect a combobox which is not inside my datagrid) then I dont know why without my page call the Page_Load it goes to create a new row in grid function and all of my parameter are null! I am just receiving null exception. So in other word I try to explain the situation: when I load my page I am initializing some parameter. then everything is working fine. in my page when I change selected item of my combo box, page suppose to go and run function related to that combo box, and call page_load, but it is not going there and it goes to rowcreated function. I am trying to illustrate part of my page.     Hi everyone, Writing test cases for my project, one test I need is to test deletion. This may not exactly be the right way to go about it, but I've stumbled upon something which isn't making sense to me. Code is like this: [Test] private void DeleteFruit() { BuildTestData(); var f1 = new Fruit("Banana",1,1.5); var f2 = new Fruit("Apple",1,1.5); fm.DeleteFruit(f1,listOfFruit); Assert.That(listOfFruit[1] == f2); } Now the fruit object I create line 5 is the object that I know should be in that position (with this specific dataset) after f1 is deleted. Also if I sit and debug, and manually compare objects listOfFruit[1] and f2 they are the same. But that Assert line fails. What gives?

  • Flex DataGrid not Displaying Data

    I have a custom dataGrid that acts more like a 2D list (if that makes sense at all). I am dynamically creating the columns and recreating the dataProvider to suit my needs. While debugging I can see that I am creating the columns and setting them to the dataGrid and creating and setting the dataProvider, but for some reason I am able to see the dataGrid and the columns but not the data.     I am having a weird Situation with my DataConext. All My code is in C# I have a DLL project for my data access layer and business Layer which and Winforms project for my UI layer. My Data access Layer's Namespace is xxx.Data this is where have my xxx.dbml I also have xxx.Data.BusinessObjects name space of course for my business object in that project In my UI Layer I have these namespaces xxxApp(for Forms), xxxApp.Controls (For Controls) I have lost scope of the DataContext, it was accessible now when I do a Rebuild Solution I sometimes get compile errors saying for example: Error 34 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' does not contain a definition for 'SubmitChanges' and no extension method 'SubmitChanges' accepting a first argument of type 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Also intelisense doesn't recognize the methods and table classes from my xxxDataContext anymore I can access all object fine when I am in the DLL project but now in the Winforms project this is very strange. If anyone can help me out I would be extremely grateful!

    I have a desktop application (forms) with a tab control, I assign a tab and a new custom webrowser control. I open up about 10 of these tabs. Each one visits about 100 - 500 different pages. The trouble is that if 1 webbrowser control has a problem it shuts down the entire program. I want to be able to close the offending webbrowser control and open a new one in it's place. Is there any event that I need to subscribe to catch a crashing or unresponsive webbrowser control ?     I have developed an iPhone app with a launch image. When starting the app in the simulator, the image zooms in as expected. However, when the app is deployed to my physical device, the zoom animation is very short and sometimes completes instantaneously. I'm sure it's nothing to do with my app start up as I put a sleep call in applicationDidFinishLoading to slow it down and this occurs after the zoom animation has completed.

    I'm attempting to use the UITapGestureRecognizer object that can be found in Interface Builder. I've dragged a single "UITapGestureRecognizer" from the object library to a single view xib. I then create an IBAction method from this tap gesture, for a simple test, I'm just printing an "NSLog" message to the console once there is a tap on the view. I've run this, and the tap method isn't being called. I right click the view in IB and I noticed that there is a warning "!" on the view's "Outlook Collections" I see: Outlook Collections gestureRecognizers - Tap Gesture Recognizer (!) The warning states: UIView does not have an outlet collection named gestureRecognizers. What do I need to do to remedy this?

I'm looking for a way to produce a dynamic activity based on a JSON object. I could have 2 text views, 3 select menus, 1 text view and so on. The goal is to iterate over this JSONObject and create the appropriate elements within my android code. To produce the result I've thought of a simple switch which would render one by one my different JSONObject to an android widget. But after that how could I have access of every property of every widget rendered? Thank you.

After I read this article: http://www.javamex.com/tutorials/memory/object_memory_usage.shtml I didn't understand some things: the size of a data type is always the same also on different platform (Linux / Windows 32 / 64 bit)??? so an int will be always 32 bit?; when I compute the memory usage I must put also the reference value itself? If I have an object to a class that has an int field its memory will be 12 (object header) + 4 reference + 4 (the int field) + 3 (padding) = 24 bytes??

    Rails 3 does some cool stuff to make Javascript unobtrusive, so they've done things like this: = link_to "Logout", user_session_path, :method => :delete ..converts to <a href="/logout" data-method="delete" rel="nofollow">Logout</a> But it just occurred to me.. When I turn off javascript the method isn't DELETE anymore, it's GET as expected. So are there plans to, or is there some way to, allow these data- attributes to degrade gracefully, so that link still is a DELETE request?

  • NSFetchedResultsChangeInsert reported when only updates are taking place

    I have a class that acts as a NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate which is receiving messages to -(void)controller:didChangeObject:atIndexPath:forChangeType:newIndexPath: with change type NSFetchedResultsChangeInsert, but the actual object which is the subject has with certainty not been newly inserted, only updated. So I would expect to get a change message with type NSFetchedResultsChangeUpdate, should I not? If i check the value of isInserted on the object, it yields false (as expected from the logic in my program). So my question is, why is this reported as an insert when it is only a change/update? They only thing I can think of is that part of the changes that are taking place is that objects of another entity type are inserted with relationships to objects of the entity type that the NSFetchedResultsController is set up to fetch.

  • .NET Free memory usage (how to prevent overallocation / release memory to the OS)

    I'm currently working on a website that makes large use of cached data to avoid roundtrips. At startup we get a "large" graph (hundreds of thouthands of different kinds of objects). Those objects are retrieved over WCF and deserialized (we use protocol buffers for serialization) I'm using redgate's memory profiler to debug memory issues (the memory didn't seem to fit with how much memory we should need "after" we're done initializing and end up with this report Now what we can gather from this report is that: 1) Most of the memory .NET allocated is free (it may have been rightfully allocated during deserialisation, but now that it's free, i'd like for it to return to the OS) 2) Memory is fragmented (which is bad, as everytime i refresh the cash i need to redo the memory hungry deserialisation process and this, in turn creates large object that may throw an OutOfMemoryException due to fragmentation) 3) I have no clue why the space is fragmented, because when i look at the large object heap, there are only 30 instances, 15 object[] are directly attached to the GC and totally unrelated to me, 1 is a char array also attached directly to the GC Heap, the remaining 15 are mine but are not the cause of this as i get the same report if i comment them out in code. So my question is, what can i do to go further with this? I'm not really sure what to look for in debugging / tools as it seems my memory is fragmented, but not by me, and huge amounts of free spaces are allocated by .net , which i can't release. Also please make sure you understand the question well before answering, i'm not looking for a way to free memory within .net (GC.Collect), but to free memory that is already free in .net , to the system as well as to defragment said memory. Note that a slow solution is fine, if it's possible to manually defragment the large heap i'd be all for it as i can call it at the end of RefreshCache and it's ok if it takes 1 or 2 second to run. Thanks for your help! A few notes i forgot: 1) The project is a .net 2.0 website, i get the same results running it in a .net 4 pool, idem if i run it in a .net 4 pool and convert it to .net 4 and recompile. 2) These are results of a release build, so debug build can not be the issue. 3) And this is probably quite important, i do not get these issues at all in the webdev server, only in IIS, in the webdev i get memory consumption rather close to my actual consumption (well more, but not 5-10X more!)
