• Implement a WebDAV server in C#?

  We've got a CMS system written in .NET C#. This system has editing facilities for templates (essentially HTML files) and various other support files such as CSS and javascript files. These "files" are not really files, but database records and they are edited using plain old textareas within the CMS system. To make editing these "files" easier, on idea was to implement WebDAV support in the CMS system for these files, so users could use some WebDAV client software to connect to the CMS and then open these in VS 2008 for example. Firstly, is this a feasible idea? Secondly, if so ... where do start? Any good articles out there about implementing a WebDAV server in C# to provide access to either physical documents or "pseudo" documents which are in reality just records in a database? Any input appreciated ....

• Java threads not working correctly with linkedlist

  Hi I am working on the sleeping barber problem. with the addition of having priority customer when they arrive they go in the front of the line and they are the next ones to get a haircut.   Hi guys, I have a bit of a problem with my shadowbox, it works fine in FF, but it refuses to work in IE 7 or 8. • Hiding an internal interface in a "friend" assembly

  I have two assemblies: A and B. A has InternalsVisibleTo set for B. I would like to make calls from A to get information that can only be known by a type defined in B in a way that keeps things internal. I can do this using an internal interface defined in A and implemented explicitly in B. Assembly A internal interface IHasData { Data GetData(); } class ClassA { DoSomething(IHasData); } Assembly B public abstract class ClassB : IHasData { Data IHasData.GetData() { /** do something internal **/ } } The trouble comes when someone references assembly B and derives from ClassB - they get the error: "The type 'AssemblyA.IHasData' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced" even though that type should be invisible to them. If I look at the public type definition I see what I expect - ClassB with no interfaces implemented. Why do I get this error? All of the implementation is in assembly B. I could use IHasData internally in ClassB and that wouldn't require assembly A to be referenced. Can someone help me understand what is going on?

  I'm trying to use a Checkboxlist in MonoRail to represent a many to many table relationship. There is a Special table, SpecialTag table, and then a SpecialTagging table which is the many to many mapping table between Special and SpecialTag.   Hey, does anyone know a package manager library for PHP (as e.g. apt or yum for linux distros) apart from PEAR? I'm working on a system which should include a package management system for module management. I managed to get a working solution using PEAR, but using the PEAR client for anything else than managing a PEAR installation is not really the optimal solution as it's not designed for that. I would have to modify/extend it (e.g. to implement actions on installation/upgrade or to move PEAR specific files like lockfiles away from the system root) and especially the CLI client code is quite messy and PHP4. So maybe someone has some suggestions for an alternative PEAR client library which is easy to use and extend (the server side has some nice implementations like Pirum and pearhub) for completely different package management systems written in PHP (ideally including dependency tracking and different channels) for some general ideas how to implement such a PM system (yes, I'm still tinkering with the idea of implementing such a system from scratch) I know that big systems like Magento and symfony use PEAR for their PM. Magento uses a hacked version of the original PEAR client (which I'd like to avoid), symfony's implementation seems quite integrated with the framework, but would be a good starting point to at least write the client from scratch. Anyway, if anybody has suggestions: please :)

  I have a series of Extension methods to help with null-checking on IDataRecord objects, which I'm currently implementing like this: public static int? I'd like to reimplement these as a generic method, partly to reduce redundancy and partly to learn how to write generic methods in general. I've written this: public static Nullable<T> GetNullable<T>(this IDataRecord dr, int ordinal) { Nullable<T> nullValue = null; return dr.IsDBNull(ordinal) ? nullValue : (Nullable<T>) dr.GetValue(ordinal); } which works as long as T is a value type, but if T is a reference type it won't. This method would need to return either a Nullable type if T is a value type, and default(T) otherwise. How would I implement this behavior?

Well that is all fine and dandy, we have chosen to create a system that calcuate how many unites of medicine a diabetic need based on his or hers blood sugar. It does not need to be correct just that we have the idea of a real time system :D But we have hit a little snag our formula for calculating the units of medicine is [blood sugar] * 1.2 But the only way we can send messages between processes is via a structure that contains 8 longs, but here is where my knowledge of c ends, we need for some way to split this double into 2 longs, example: the whole number in long 0 and the decimals in long 1 and then assemble it on the other side. But I have no idea who to do this, and therefore need a little help. We have tried but we do not have access to c standard libraries
