• My internet speed became slow at night

  My internet plan is 512kbps unlimited and I get speed of average 64kbps but at night I used to get speed of 112kbps ..but recently my speed got normal like day time ...as per my view usually at night their is less traffic so I should get good speed like before ... Due to good speed I download and upload at night and my average download+upload per month is 60gb or 70gb... Is it that my ISP people putting restriction on my download and uploads.. I am confused.

  I am downloading a very large torrent (~60GB) and when deluge clients starts up it takes a lot of time to check the parts downloaded during witch it uses a lot the hardisk that leads to a very slow computer. Is there a way to skip this checking ? or make it be less aggressive on the hardrive ?

  Hi, My web server container is Tomcat 6.0.14 JVM 1.6.0_17-b04 BlazeDS 3.2.0.3978 Im sending request from the same local machine via AMF to BlazeDS server and only first request takes about 10secend to proceed. Each next request is preceeding correctly (very fast, less than 0.5s). Anyone know what's the reason of soo slow responsing? I'm a developer, not administrator so please be patient :)

  How can I manage a domain with the "Active Directory Users and Computers" from a computer that is not on that domain? I realize I'll need some domain admin (or less) credentials, but that's fine.   I'm interested in the actual real-word throughput attainable with an external 1000BaseT USB 2.0 network card under Linux. I have been able to attain 90 megabytes per second on a PCI-E interface, but the USB 2.0 bus has a theoretical limit of 480Mbit/s, and in practice less than 40 megabytes per second. Is the actual throughput attainable with such a card under linux 40, 30, 20, or even as low as 10 megabytes per second, eg. no better than a normal 100BaseT network card?

• Black Screen After Sleep (Win 8)

  I have an SSD only, Intel HD Graphics only, Ultrabook running on Windows 8 64-bit and after I turn it back on, after a long sleep of a few hours, the screen remains black even though the power is on (the fan and keyboard backlight are on). I have to force a shut down and switch it back on to use it normally again. Hibernation and hybrid-sleep are turned off. It comes out of sleep of less than an hour just fine. Any advise? Mark

• Virtual Box for everyday use?

  I was just thinking about how nice virtual machines are...and how even "rebooting" is less painful, because at the very least, you don't have to wait for your physical computer to turn off and on with all the mobo shannanigans at the start... so, what if I ran everything in a virtual machine? Then I wouldn't really need a primary OS, I just need something than can run VirtualBox or what have you. So what's the lightest weight OS I could install, that supports a good virtual machine?
