  Did someone achieve to do negative regexp (or part of) with Squirm ? I tried negative lookahead things and ifthenelse regexps, but Squirm 1.26 fails to understand them. What i want to do is simply: * If the url begins by 'http://' and contains 'account', then rewrite/redirect to 301:https:// * It the url begins by 'https://' and does NOT contains 'account, then rewrite/redirect to 301:http:// So far, i do that using 2 lines of perl, but squirm redirectors would take less memory

• GPU Temperature comparisons between similar GPUs of the same line

  As a general rule of thumb, if there are two similar GPUs from the same line (i.e. an NVIDIA GTX 260 vs a NVIDIA GTX 280), will the less powerful or more powerful GPU run hotter? This is assuming all other factors stay the same - hardware configuration, cooling setup, ingame settings, etc. Or does this depend entirely upon the GPU itself? I do remember reading that the GTX 280 in this example was terribly inefficient with power and cooling.

  When i made a new drive it take some space for system file FAT32 take the less space, then NTFS, then ext4 my question how to know the space will be taken for the system before make the drive, if the drive 1giga or 100giga for FAT32, NTFS, ext4. Edit: when make 10MB drive with FAT32 the size shown 9.9 when make 10MB drive with ext4 the size shown 8.1 the same thing with the bigger size there always some space used and there is no files on the drive, so where this space go, if it for the filesystem how i can calculate the space that will be taken before format the drive

  Hey! I have 3 monitors, 2 24 inch and one 22 inch. The max resolution of the 24 inch monitors is 1920 x 1080 and the 22 is a bit less (can't remember right now). I read Jeff's post about the display port adapters and I was wondering if passive adapter would do the trick since neither of the monitors have big resolutions. Thanks

  I have a system I need to duplicate over several systems and make minor changes like change less/css variables and configuration files. Is there a best practice for these kind of problems? I currently do: git clone repo cp ../default/config.js config.js ... for several files or should I create different branches of the same repo or should I create an repo for the changes? It is currently doable but it will get annoying if I get more than 5 similar systems.

• Is there software to automatically change song speed without transposing it

  Goal: automatically adjusting speed (bpm) of a given set of MP3 files in order to have a collection of music optimized to be heard when I am running. (I realized that I prefer to run with about 168 bpm in my ears). Of course, I could have some software to detect BPM and then calculate and stretch/squeeze each song using Audacity or a similar tool, however, I'd prefer a solution which requires less manual operation.

• Safari 4 starting up slowly on a Vista machine

  I have two PCs (different specs) with the latest Windows Vista and Safari 4 updates installed. In one machine, Safari 4 works great but in the other, it starts up slowly (less than a minute though) with harddisk sound indicating data access activities. I have cleared all internet caches and I am quite sure that there is no virus in both machines. Are there any other reasons that Safari performances are so different in comparably similar software and hardware environments?

• Does hosting multiple sites on one server hurt your SEO?

  I have a handful of (content unrelated) sites with decent PRs and I'm considering hosting them all on the same server. I've heard that if you do this, internal linking between two seperate domains on that server may be seen as less "valid" by Google in PageRank terms (since you obviously own both of the sites as they share an IP address). Anyone have any experience in this? I'd love to save some hosting cash by consolidating, but not at the expense of losing the ability to link my sites together powerfully.

• My monitor made a noise and is now dimmer - can I repair this myself?

  I have a Samsung SyncMaster T190 LCD monitor which I've had for about 5 years. It hissed slightly then went dim (readable but the top half of the screen is less bright). I'm pretty sure that after 5 years of service it's just got to the point where something's burned out, so my question is can I repair this myself, or should I just get a new monitor. I'm currently a student so self repair would be a better option if cost effective.

What is best practice out there to sync time for all windows and unix boxes to sync with time server or domain controller. Windows time service is not made for high accuracy less then 10 secs.   This story starts with me taking my USB stick to work and unplugging it by accident in the middle of a file transfer. The USB stopped working completely, now I have Linux Ubuntu on my Laptop at home So I tried messing around with Gparted and Fdisk and all it did Was making my USB stick be partition less and 8 MB instead of 2GB So instead of creating more havoc, I ask kindly for help. I tried going to fdisk /dev/sdb and inside there were no partitions, added a new one but that didn't really do anything, /dev/sdb1 was none-existent..

  I am copying a 4.7 GB dvd contents into my local drive but the total size of DVD is being shown as 415 GB!. How is that possible? Because of which it is showing less space (as my drive is of 150 GB) and thus cannot be copied? I am surprised that how a 4.7 GB dvd contains 415 GB data?   On a old machine (512 MB RAM) I am currently running ubuntu jaunty and firefox 3.0.15. I tried the ad blocker addon add block plus but it eats lots of RAM (300 MB). Is high memory load of this add-on a bug, which is fixed in a newer version or just normal? If so, why is the memory usage so high? Is there another ad blocker add-on for firefox or another browser- add-on combination for linux (ubuntu jaunty) which uses significant less RAM?
